Brenner's Steakhouse on the Bayou Ratings and Reviews
I had said in my reservation we were there for a special occasion and they took us upstairs; which was very outdated and bright. I had no idea that there was a amazingly beautiful dark room with huge windows downstairs where most of the dinners were. So we were extremely disappointed about that. Three times our drinks were brought wrong to us. My husbands steak and Oscar sauce were cold and he twice found small bones in his Oscar sauce. The sauce was cold and he asked the waiter to please warm it up and he left with it for ten minutes and brought it back like he had and it was still cold. Very disappointing. Every table upstairs was very quite; except the one that came and sat next to us with a table top of four and from start to them being seated at the time we finally asked them to just bring our dessert to go downstairs because they were uncomfortably loud; when my husband and I were trying to enjoy a date night. The things we did love were the bread and butter, the lobster bisque, the augratin potatoes and the lobster tail. Other than than that, as I mentioned above..our night there was one big disappointment and it was meant for a special occasion. Our server did give us free desserts for all the mishaps.
Though we had a bit of a problem with my first appetizer, overall our dining experience was fabulous.
My order was the smoked oysters. After trying the first two I felt I had to return them to the kitchen. They were very chewy and unpleasant. Our waiter promptly brought the tuna tartare and all was well! We were also approached by a manager to make sure that the problem had been resolved. What a great way to make lemonade out of lemons.
All of the remainder of our evening was terrrific. The service was impeccable and all of the other food was excellent.
I had asked for a window table and was very pleased that we were accommodated.
What a great evening!! We will certainly be returning to Brenner’s!
Took my girlfriend for a much needed date night. Atmosphere was fantastic for a quiet, intimate date. This being our first time we had no idea what to expect from the menu other than a quality steak, our waiter helped us out with choosing our dishes and was very polite and made the experience enjoyable. The food was great, steak was cooked exactly as I wanted it as well as my girlfriend. Overall the night was very enjoyable and we will definitely be going back.
Absolutely Amazing dinner! Bumba our server did an excellent job of guiding us through the menu and suggesting menu items to complete our dining experience. The Bacon Wrapped Quail was a fantastic appetizer, opening the way to perfectly cooked filet mignon steaks. The highlight of the evening were the perfectly matched side items of marinated mushrooms and Mac & cheese with a "slab" of bacon. Paired with the Troublemaker Red Blend, it was a match made in Heaven! I only wish we had room for dessert. Next time for sure!
I've been a fan of brenner's for several years and I come dine on special occasions, this time for new year's eve. I was happy with the good service and ambiance was excellent as always. I had the special 4 course meal. The octopus was good and soup as well. I had the 10oz fillet which has been better in previous occasions. I encourage the team to strive to maintain the excellent food taste I experienced before.
Ordered from the fixed NYE menu. Worst mistake of my life. I could tell the food lacked any preparation. One of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Totally ruined my night. My steak needed steak sauce that lets you know how bad it was. Party of six, two made the mistake of ordering from the fixed menu and both of us had terrible food. Lesson learned and $85 wasted.
We went there for new year's eve. So glad to see that the restaurant has re-opened. You wouldn't know from both the inside or exterior that it was flooded by Harvey. As our waitress commented, it's like a brand new restaurant! As in the past, food and service were terrific.
WE were there New Year’s Eve. Appetizers were great. Too much bacon on the salad. Mash potatoes with lamb chops tasted great but looks like it was plated way before the entree was set so it looked dry when it reached the table. Filet was awesome ! We loved the appetizers. Great service ! Formal but waiters and staff made you feel welcomed and at ease.
Our group had a Ribeye steak, quail, prokchops and a 'vegan plate'. All outstanding, alas except the vegan plate, with was rather blah, with no flavor or pop to it! The two ladies loved the Mimosa salad; none of like the loud music, very unseasonal at that! So loud we had trouble hearing the waiter!
What a pleasant dining experience. The staff was extremely attentive and always making sure that we were okay. We had a bunch of questions regarding the menu and any recommendations they may have, and they were very informative and helpful. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides we ordered complemented them well. We will definitely be back!
Served snapper ordered Tuna, My snapper was over cooked and very dry, NOT what we are accustomed to at Brenners. Coffee was cold, not even warm, As usual, the Grilled Quail saved the day.
Service is always good. atmosphere stellar as usual! We will be back hoping this was a one off night!
This restaurant never disappoints me. I've recommended this restaurant for special events over the years and it's always been a success. The food is delicious and ambiance is just right. The crab cakes are to die for and all of their steak dishes are recommended.
