In my experience it is rare that a restaurant in Houston achieves both outstanding quality of food and service. We have always enjoyed both at this gem of a restaurant. They have a new
(to us) brunch menu that now includes more non egg items, and it is executed with perfection.
Great bar, and a lovely setting complete what is always a great dining experience!

I want to start by since moving to Houston in 2013 this has been one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The food and service has always been spot on and the setting is so romantic. This is where we signed up for Landry's Select because we loved the place so much! Unfortunately, Hurricane Harvey did some damage to this beautiful restaurant but they recently reopened and we were so excited so we had brunch there on Sunday, December 10. Started off good with the service, we ordered a bloody mary, mimosas, pimento cheese and for our meals, crab cake and an omelette. Everything was going well until they served my crab cake almost 15 minutes before my husbands omelette. The food delivery man did not comment on where his meal was when he brought mine. After about 5 minutes and the manager noticing I had food but my husband did not, he came over to check on us. Then he came back to apologize that their system messed up and his order was dropped off the ticket. So after 10 more minutes, I have finished my meal, my husband gets his omelette. The waitress apologized but the manager never came back, no offer to take his meal off the bill or take care of the entire bill. We were both very disappointed in how the issue was handled.

Food was great. Seated by a window, restaurant was very cold and my girlfriend had to leave a jacket on. Service was good. Prices were comparable to other high end restaurants.

We came in for dinner & were sent away by the hostess because we were not dressed “nice enough.” We went home and changed made a reservation and came back about an hour or so later. We waited quite a while before being greeted at the table and then waited even longer for water. When we got our drinks, one of them had to be sent back and remade. When we ordered a second round one was spilled on one of our guests. His entire new suit had to be dry cleaned and being that he was from out of town it was his only suit to go out for the night. We all felt that we handled the situation well considering we were sent away to change and now we couldn’t attend our next event on time because our guest had to go change again. We really could have made a big fuss about the whole deal but we didn’t. I don’t think that management did a very good job of handling the situation. The server brought over the manager right away, as he should have, and the manager offered to take care of our guest’s dinner which he did not do. We had to mention that our guest’s dinner was not taken care if and when the manager took a portion off of the bill it was only the steak, not his drinks, nor side. We were pretty disappointed overall and we are not sure we will be returning based on how poorly we felt management handled us as guests from the time of arrival to the time we left. Our server was great. We felt bad for him. The drink made incorrectly was not his fault and we aren’t mad about the drink being spilled on our guest we are just disappointed in management, the bartender’s drink handling and how rude the hostesses were. (Re: the bar drink I ordered a very peety scotch on the rocks and my husband ordered a bourbon on the rocks. The jigger was not rinsed between pours and my husband’s bourbon tasted like moldy scotch. I like bold scotch but it’s not fur everyone. It doesn’t take long to rinse the jogger between pours. Perhaps other guests may not have noticed but we blind taste whiskey regularly

Brenners on the Bayou is back open after the Harvey Flood and better than ever. We dined there the first Saturday they were open and can honestly say it was the best meal we've ever had there. The repairs have been beautifully done - the restaurant looks better than ever. This is such an iconic Houston location, its great to see it back and operating at such a high level.

Open Table doesn't ( and probably can't) keep track of all of those restaurants closed by Hurricane Harvey. But Brenners on the Bayou had a staff member check their reservation list and called us up confirm they were closed from the storm. I appreciate they took that extra step for their customers.

Food is always good. Sorry we couldn't celebrate our anniversary here. It we'll be back. And a shout out to Landrys corporate for all they do.

They did an amazing job with everything. I got engaged but did not tell them it was happening. The waiter took a video and all and the cooks/staff treated us so great! They went above and beyond with the congrats messages and champagne selection and all that. Definitely recommend for a special occasion or happy hour.

We celebrated our son's birthday and took advantage of the Houston Restaurant Week selections. The filets were excellent and the Mahi Mahi was well done. We chose the Brussels sprouts as an add on - excellent!
Hopefully the restaurant will survive the Hurricane Harvey rains!

Had a reservation but was seated 10 min late with no explanation. This was a special occasion - anniversary dinner which I made clear at the time of reservation - and they didn't remember or treat our experience as such. Lack of personal touch. Wouldn't spend $250 there again for dinner

The food at Brennar's was not the best. It was not even warm. When mentioned to the server, he only rewarmed the food and bought it back out. The service was good, the food no so much. I would recommend for cocktails but not for dinner.

Enjoyed my visit. Beautiful views and just a little quiet inside restaurant. Could use a little more volume on the music. Service was great. Enjoyed my drink and food (lamb). The Happy hour prices are not that good. $1 off ??? Definitely could do better in that area. It'll increase your business. But that Blue bar outside area is amazing

Although my time was fairly good, I have to comment on the staff. My waiter was really great. I had a large party & he handled it very well. The hostess staff.... not so much. I originally reserved a table for 10 & two days prior to my reservation, I let them know that I would have 2-3 more people. I was told "the table we have for you only seats 10" and that's it. They didn't even attempt to accommodate me. Once I arrived, I then had to just figure things out for myself for my party. Other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Love this place for food and ambiance if you're downstairs. Upstairs is a totally different vibe. Tough steps for mobility issues, cramped space, kept getting bumped into by staff and customers alike. Food was great! Souffle was not good. Did not taste like chocolate at all. It rose pretty but I think they must use yeast, and it was really watery inside.

Was disappointed with the fact we had to ask for the "Houston restaurant weeks menu".
Waiter suggested we get bone in ribeye for $69. It was ok, lot of bone & gristle.
Waiter also suggested we get bacon added to our potatoes au gratin. But didnt tell
Us there was a extra charge for the bacon. Waiter didnt let us see a drink menu.
Also since it was our anniversary we thought we might receive a complimentary dessert.
No such luck. Overall we were not impressed. Will go to Vic & Anthonys next year.

This is by far my favorite steak house in Houston. It competes with other upscale Landry's steak house brands, such as Vic & Anthony's and Morton's, but by far, it has the best atmosphere. Prices are typical for this dining segment, and the choices are terrific. Like all their competitors, the sides are bountiful and delicious. I am partial to the Prime New York Steak, and it didn't disappoint. Two bars: inside and outside on the Bayou. Outside has an inexpensive happy hour menu of discounted drinks and snacks. They also offer the full menu. I assume the indoor bar offers the same, but I don't know. The views are breathtaking.

My girlfriend and I went for a date night to try out restauarant week. We had always heard wonderful things and were excited to try it out. The food was phenomenal- lobster bisque soup, filet, pork chop, and cheese cake were all wonderful. The service, however, was terrible. We waited close to 45 minutes from the time of ordering to actually recieving our soups and an additional 20 minutes for our entrees following that. It seemed our server was busy with a larger table next to us, so really paid us no attention and had to rely on the other staff to deliver everything in a delayed manor. Having spend around $150 for two people I would expect the level of service to match the quality of food.

The margarita was unimpressive. The server said they used fresh lime juice, but the lime juice tasted like it was squeezed yesterday; and they added simple syrup for sweetening. Not worth what they charge.

I ordered their grass fed top sirloin. It came in an onion soup-like broth that successfully masked the taste of the beef. The steak was not grilled, just cooked somehow. So no grilling flavors. I have had better steaks.

Menue choices were limited.

The cost of the meal was higher than I ever expected. I don't mind paying for quality food. This meal missed the mark big time.

This is a beautiful space, but on our visit we found the food uneven and the service at arrival poor. The appetizers were good, especially the crab cake. One of our steaks was not cooked as ordered and when it was sent back, arrived overdone. The biggest issue though was handling our arrival. We had reserved for 9:00 but as we were running late we called on the way. They changed our reservation to 9:30 though we had said we would arrive at 9:15, which we did. There was no place to sit at the bar and though we saw free tables, we still were forced to wait over 30 min for a table. When we complained we got rolled eyes and empty apologies. When a manager finally stepped in a table was suddenly available. To their credit, the apps were comped. But the meal was still expensive for what it was. While th space and location are beautiful, there are many other (better) spots in Houston.

First off we had a reservation for 7:45 and we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. My wife ordered the Sole dish entree and the fish was three slices about the same thickness and size as bacon. That was the entire dinner. Three bites and it was gone. Nothing else on the plate. We didnt even complain becuase we were already there for over an hour and wanted to go home. I had the 6 oz filet and I cannot say it was worth 45 bucks. I get better steaks at Saltgrass for half the price. We wont be back

Over hyped place, over priced. The food was so average I was embarrassed. Steak tasteless, steak sauce tasteless, mahi mahi dry, salad I could get better anywhere else, apple strudel something close to McDs apple pie, Hazelnut cake seemed to be from Walmart! The host at the reception did not seem interested in seating us although we had a 9.30 reservation, we got seated at 10.30 after asking what happened to our table. Pretty disappointed!
