Had to a half hour even with a reservation
By the time we were seated, there were four empty tables around us
Although we had to wait almost 25 minutes past our reservation time, the food and atmosphere were fabulous. We had a great Easter dinner!
First time to this Brenners location. Reservations for 4:15...4:55 still no table. Spoke to Manager...was given a table right away and offered a free appetizer. Service was outstanding yet steaks came out medium well...maybe well done... we ordered medium rare. The one person not eating steak basically got to eat alone while we waited on steaks. Second round came out rare...no complaint but odd a steakhouse can't get steaks right. The manager was more than apologetic and made everything right. We'll give it another shot...I'm sure this is a one off... Brenners on I-10 has always been amazing...I can't imagine this being different.
It was my first time at this restaurant and I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice and the landscaping was amazing. Our waiter did an excellent job. He made sure we were having a nice time and that the food tasted good. One thing I would suggest is that they have a bit more organization when it comes to reservations and seating people in a timely matter.
It is ridiculous that they take my reservation and maked me wait until past half a hour to be seated after we complained and let them know we would be seated already in another restaurant and then when we were finally at our table we waited about 15 minutes without being waited so we just got up and left... We were absolutely treated like royalty in our second place of choice...
Went for Easter brunch. Didn't get seated until 1 hr 25 mins after our reservation. The kitchen was slow on top of that and the food was average. Really put a damper on Easter.
So disappointing! We had 12:30 reservations and were not seated till 1:15. That would have been ok since it was Easter Sunday but the food took even longer to be served and it was pretty bland. Our server was energetic but we were there for 3 hours. Probably will not go back for awhile.
The most dismal dining experience at a restaurant of this supposed caliber we've experienced. Arrived at 12:15 for a 12:30 reservation; seated at 1:15. Menu was not what was posted on-line; took almost 1.5 HOURS to get our meal, two orders of which were wrong. Finally left at 3:15. Management came by the table ONCE to apologize for the delay, with no offers of compensation or explanation for the delays. Although it was Easter Sunday, this is no excuse for such poor service. And this is not our first time with experiencing such sub-par service, but it will definitely be our last.
Easter Sunday. 11:45 res. For 4. Sat down at 11:30.
Literally took 1.5 hours for entrees to be served after appetizers. We left restaurant at 2:pm.
Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve had in my life.
Shocking to wait that long.
Been coming here about 42 years. Will not be back.
Embarrassing as I have three guests with me.
Manager had the nerve to say that the kitchen was doing all it could. Pathetic excuse. Truth was they added tables outside and kept accepting walk ins on patio. They overbooked simply to drive revenues.
In addition, seemed like there is no dress code here anymore either. It’s too bad as this used to be a great place.
Seems to be an effort to have a bar scene outside now with that crowd, combined with restaurant inside.
Talked with two other tables at valet. Both were also angry about similar situations.
Lunch was of course comped however Easter Brunch experience poor. We were not hungry after that long of an epic wait for food...1.5 hours. Extremely disappointing.
Waited over an hour for our food on patio today, decided to cancel it and leave, was still charged our app and wine (no problem) but was over charged on wine (2 glasses when only had 1) but didn’t want to deal with it and wait any longer.
It was absolutely incredible. Amazing table along with amazing service. Will be back.
You can tell this establishment cares about making everything as comfortable as possible for its customers and makes them feel valued , as soon as I was done I talked about going again . Service was excellent just like the setting
Please note: Our server was great , but the kitchen needs attention as it took longer than usual to bring out the food
The steak was out of this world. Loved the beautiful view. Was our first time there. Only complaint is why do people bring toddlers to a fine dining establishment? Had to listen to a screaming child throughout most of the dinner. I suggest they be seated in their own private area. Also, would like to see a dress code.
We’ve been patrons for years, and something was off during our recent visit. The food was mediocre, dessert was overly sweet (it’s a thing!) and the AC was blowing directly on us. We’ll be back, but will hope for a better experience.
An evening well spent celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary with my wife! Will be returning! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Our service people were superb. Food was prepared perfectly. We love Brenners!
Just a great experience. Arrived early and enjoyed the outdoor deck in back; a trio playing soft rock. The dining experience was excellent - unique ambiance, great food and service! Great place for a special occasion. Oh, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped!
Wonderful meal in a beautiful spot! The patio is beautiful, we enjoyed a glass of wine outside prior to dinner. The food was delicious! The service was outstanding!
Beautiful view. Great service!
girlfriend and i drove an hour for prom dinner. was not disappointed. the food was quite excellent and i would highly recommend anyone to come here if they had the money to afford it. worth the hour drive, and the food left a lasting impression on me that i’ll never forget.
i ate the shrimp & grits with a creamed spinach dish as a side. easily the best food i have ever eaten. part of me wishes i could time travel so i could eat the food again.
the venue was quite pretty too, both inside and outside. it felt rather small, but that added more value to it in my eyes. it felt more intimate and in turn made the experience that much more pleasant. the artwork was pretty, and the chandelier in the front was pretty as well.
Great food, wonderful escape from louder restaurants. Perfect service
Moved to outside - bad service. Moved back inside - great service.
Upscale venue with high quality food and service. Server was a bit persistant with the upsale bur I understand it.
Very romantic setting very unique to Houston
This is a great restaurant to go to has very nice landscaping on hills of the bayou and many decks to have a cocktail or wine outside. In good weather you can even dine outside!
Really great service. We had a dietary restriction (Gluten Free)and the staff was very attentive about it. Was really impressed with their attention, knowledge and service. Thank you.
Great atmosphere! Excellent restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. Food and staff are outstanding.
Everything at this restaurant was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend Brenner's on the bayou.
Drinks not very good, service was very slow even though not a busy time.
My first time there and I was very impressed with all aspects of the restaurant. Beautiful ambiance on the bayou and food, service to match!
Outstanding staff from the desk check-in, to the general manager, waiter.....everything!! Definitely made our special occasion even better.
My family and I were celebrating my birthday. Despite the restaurant being nearly completely empty, the hostess placed us right next to the kitchen where there was a ton of noise, traffic and a direct draft from the kitchen refrigerator. Both appetizers (fried burrata and brisket tacos) were cold and bland. We ordered a bottle of wine that came out 2 minutes after the food was served which was awkward timing (had to pause eating to taste it). Side of asparagus was cold and under cooked. Dessert was a mediocre vanilla ice cream with a luke warm brownie. Aside from the steak, the food was nothing worthy of note. I feel the need to be pointed about the bad because the sticker price on this experience was incredibly high and felt wholly unjustified. I never write food / restaurant reviews, but this place needs to make a much more intentional effort to have better service and food for such an absurdly expensive meal. I have had much better fine dining experiences in the Houston area for much more reasonable prices. Other than that, the steak and wine were excellent.
My new favorite brunch spot in Houston - the off the beaten path vibe, tasteful live music, and AMAZING food (get the chilaquiles!) are TOP notch. We will be back again, and again, and again.
Great steakhouse. Beautiful ambiance. The food and drinks were amazing
Everything was fantastic! Only complaint would be that we asked for a side that we had only taken a few bites of to be boxed up, but it never came back to the table. I would definitely come back for my special occasions though!
I was a little disappointed on the very little bread we had gotten at the beginning of the meal. The lettuce did not seem fresh, and our food took a long while. When it came out it was served rare even though we ordered medium rare. When brought back, it was brought back to perfection. The Godiva Soufflé was phenomenal. I’d go back for the steak and soufflé. Just wish the service was a bit faster. Overall we had a great experience.
Pre-concert dinner on the patio. Couldn’t have asked for more.
great place to enjoy a good meal/drinks with family and friends
