Brenner’s Steakhouse Katy Freeway Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately this in now just another Landry's restaurant. Nothing to write home about, but it is typical good food. That said my steak was drastically overcooked (I ordered Rare and it was Well on a 8 oz filet) , but as expected at Landry's, they brought a new one that was correct, and then provided free desert for the table.
My fiancée and I were having an early lunch date on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. The manager was very friendly so was the hostess that called to confirm our reservation. However, our waiter by the name of George was very disrespectful, I did not appreciate his sarcastic undertones. I think he needs to be mindful of that when serving the public. Overall the food was wonderful and so was the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we won’t be dining there again due to our waiters snobbish attitude.
My meal at Brenner’s was excellent, as always. Food and service were outstanding. However, l came last spring one night by myself at 6:00 on a Monday (did not have a reservation). The lady at the front desk first told me l could sit outside- that all tables were booked. (even though there were only about 4 tables with people seated). I told her l wanted to sit inside. She looked in the back room to see if there were tables. I told her l wanted to sit in the front area. Then she called the manager 4 different times to see if she could find me a table. I was finally seated. I doubt l will go again by myself, but l thought that was rude. I go to Brenner’s 3-4 times a year, and sometimes l treat 5-6 people. I always tip well, too.
Food was delicious. Service was good. Smaller on the inside than I expected, but that probably contributes to a lower noise level. The place was nice. The ONLY "complaint" I would have is that there wass only 1 stall in the men's restroom. I think it was the same in the women's. The place was relatively smaller than other restaurants, which really adds to the atmosphere of the place. But it wasn't small enough to only have one stall in the restroom. That being said, I will be going back.
After specifying this was a birthday and engagement celebration, we were given a table in a high traffic area instead of the only other available table in the back by the windows, which was a more appropriate table for our occasion. We were obviously dressed as we were on a date. The other table was eventually given to two older gentlemen. Simply very poor judgement by the hostess. Also, this place is EXTREMELY loud and dark. My fiancee was sitting right next to me and I could barely hear her as we were sandwiched between two tables of 10+. We needed to use the flashlights on our phones to see the menu. The food was just ok. Finally, the waitress failed to ask me if I had a Landry's Select Club card. I missed out on $122 worth of reward points. The staff at Saltgrass always asks. We were better off going to Saltgrass. There won't be a repeat visit for us.
Brenner's Steakhouse is a gem in Houston. The location by Highway 10 & Beltway 8 throws you because once you step foot in the restaurant you feel like you are in a small inn and not some place next to a major thorough fare. The food is outstanding - go with either steak or fish, you won't be disappointed. The main thing though about Brenner's is their service - from the receptionist, your waiter, and the Manager that is ever present on the floor, they all treat you like their most special guest. Hard to find that kind of service now a days.
Dinner here was a wonderful dining experience. It was a special occasion and they did not disappoint. The wine list is good but not intimidating. The food was wonderful and the staff just attentive enough, not constantly checking in. One of the best dining experiences we have had in the Houston area.
We had an incredible meal, with such good value for the 3 course Houston restaurant weeks menu. The regular menu is on the higher side of prices but all of our courses were of amazingly high standard, so tasty and perfect portions. The outdoor garden was lovely to sit in (except for the mosquitoes) but we felt it meant service took a little longer because we were outside.
Celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary here and received outstanding service from the entire team , and the meals were great as usual. We will continue to celebrate our families special occasions here .
We continue to pray for George and his family, and we hope the Bayou location has a speedy return to opening after the flood.
The main dining room is musty. The hostess was nice and we were accommodated when we asked to change tables. The steak was just ok. I ordered the 44 Farms ribeye and it wasn't cooked that well. The fat wasn't completely rendered so it was chewy in some places. The seared goat cheese appetizer was great, but the desert was terrible. We ordered the apple streusel and it was actually gross. The dough was tough and chewy, the apples were rubbery, and the filling tasted like something from a can. The ice cream that it came with was delicious, but that didn't make up for how bad it was overall. I do not recommend eating here.
