Brenner’s Steakhouse Katy Freeway Ratings and Reviews
They ran out of the special before noon (prime rib), then they ran out of the replacement (half chicken). Finally ordered items that they had in stock on the third try. The fifteen minutes between each order and explanation that they no longer had that option caused a 2 1/2 hour lunch.
Brenner's is our favorite restaurant. Any date night or brunch or nice dinner with friends, will most likely be Brenner's. The Bayou location is really nice as well but this one has a quaint, quiet feel to it where as the Bayou location tends to be a bit louder. The food, service and beverages are all outstanding! Brunch, lunch or dinner, it's all wonderful. We've never had a single complaint. The views of the small water fall / koi pond and beautiful landscaping is the icing on the cake.
Waited 45min to be seated when we had a reservation. Waited 15 min before ordering a beverage. Poor wine selection. Calamari tasted like straight corn meal. Our server was polite and friendly. Entree was average. All around experience was so bad that we actually had our bill comped without even asking. Been here multiple times but will never come back. It’s sad because it was the place we had our special occasions. Next time we will go to the location on the Bayou.
Our client comes in town in December to treat us to a holiday lunch to celebrate the work we did together as a group. He leaves me in charge of choosing a restaurant. Naturally I try to choose something new or different than our usual monthly lunch throughout the year. I chose Brenner's after I remembered hearing from different friends about how much they loved it. Our client, a restaurateur himself, and a lover of fine dining, was very impressed with the cuisine and the overall appearance. The food was excellent from the appetizers to the entrees and of course the dessert! The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, with the outside feature impressing our client as well. We felt very much at home and enjoyed our time there.
I hope that we will visit again when he comes in town, since he becomes loyal to those places he loves!
The steaks are always good and cooked to perfection. A bit noisy but could easily hear everyone talk at our table. Everyone was having a good time. Great mixed drinks, they don’t skimp on the liquor. The outside seating is beautiful with a gold fish pond and other scenery and gas fire torches. They have complementary valet parking which is a plus. All in all a great place to eat and drink and enjoy company.
Good food and good service in a pleasant atmosphere. Now well into my sixties there are few places that offer what I call real food in good portions with outstanding flavor - there were not a lot worth visiting when I was thirty, at this point Brenner's is a rare gem. We do not go there often, but through the probably thirty years we have been going there little has changed. If I have any criticism at all it would be that they don' t seem to fill a wine glass as full as they once did, but it is simply a wonderful friendly place.
Bremer's on Katy Frwy was perfect to celebrate Thanksgiving! You could order off the menu and get steaks for the beef lovers or they also had the traditional Turkey and dressing. Our waiter, Raymond was excellent! Beautiful gardens and cozy atmosphere. We have already made our Christmas reservations with them!
Unfortunately this in now just another Landry's restaurant. Nothing to write home about, but it is typical good food. That said my steak was drastically overcooked (I ordered Rare and it was Well on a 8 oz filet) , but as expected at Landry's, they brought a new one that was correct, and then provided free desert for the table.
My fiancée and I were having an early lunch date on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. The manager was very friendly so was the hostess that called to confirm our reservation. However, our waiter by the name of George was very disrespectful, I did not appreciate his sarcastic undertones. I think he needs to be mindful of that when serving the public. Overall the food was wonderful and so was the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we won’t be dining there again due to our waiters snobbish attitude.
My meal at Brenner’s was excellent, as always. Food and service were outstanding. However, l came last spring one night by myself at 6:00 on a Monday (did not have a reservation). The lady at the front desk first told me l could sit outside- that all tables were booked. (even though there were only about 4 tables with people seated). I told her l wanted to sit inside. She looked in the back room to see if there were tables. I told her l wanted to sit in the front area. Then she called the manager 4 different times to see if she could find me a table. I was finally seated. I doubt l will go again by myself, but l thought that was rude. I go to Brenner’s 3-4 times a year, and sometimes l treat 5-6 people. I always tip well, too.
Food was delicious. Service was good. Smaller on the inside than I expected, but that probably contributes to a lower noise level. The place was nice. The ONLY "complaint" I would have is that there wass only 1 stall in the men's restroom. I think it was the same in the women's. The place was relatively smaller than other restaurants, which really adds to the atmosphere of the place. But it wasn't small enough to only have one stall in the restroom. That being said, I will be going back.
After specifying this was a birthday and engagement celebration, we were given a table in a high traffic area instead of the only other available table in the back by the windows, which was a more appropriate table for our occasion. We were obviously dressed as we were on a date. The other table was eventually given to two older gentlemen. Simply very poor judgement by the hostess. Also, this place is EXTREMELY loud and dark. My fiancee was sitting right next to me and I could barely hear her as we were sandwiched between two tables of 10+. We needed to use the flashlights on our phones to see the menu. The food was just ok. Finally, the waitress failed to ask me if I had a Landry's Select Club card. I missed out on $122 worth of reward points. The staff at Saltgrass always asks. We were better off going to Saltgrass. There won't be a repeat visit for us.
Brenner's Steakhouse is a gem in Houston. The location by Highway 10 & Beltway 8 throws you because once you step foot in the restaurant you feel like you are in a small inn and not some place next to a major thorough fare. The food is outstanding - go with either steak or fish, you won't be disappointed. The main thing though about Brenner's is their service - from the receptionist, your waiter, and the Manager that is ever present on the floor, they all treat you like their most special guest. Hard to find that kind of service now a days.
Dinner here was a wonderful dining experience. It was a special occasion and they did not disappoint. The wine list is good but not intimidating. The food was wonderful and the staff just attentive enough, not constantly checking in. One of the best dining experiences we have had in the Houston area.
