We went late! Love the fact they are open at ten o’clock at night. The waitress was amazing! Loved the food, drinks, dessert. This was our fourth time and we liked as much as the first!
I was there celebrating my boyfriends birthday and at the end they brought out complimentary candies for him.
My duck dish was great! I wish there was a fondue option for one as my date did not want to get the fondue. The fondue frites were recommended as an alternative but I found them to be average. Dessert was also great.
Excellent service and a d-lish meal of several apps and small plates. There is so much to like here, had to sample a bunch!
I have already recommended it to a number of people. One of my favorite dining experiences I have had in Richmond, ever!
The service was exceptional. My drink the Very Cosmopolitan Mary was fabulous. The charcuterie was outstanding, as was the creative lemon dessert. The entree, trout, was good, but not memorable. It think it will be a great go to place for drinks, charcuterie and dessert, if you want a light dinner in a fun spot.
We enjoyed a variety of dishes including the risotto, brussels sprouts, and duck terrine. All were very tasty, and the service was excellent. The server recommended a delicious bottle of dry Riesling to go with our meal. We were very pleased and will return.
Great food, great service. Definitely a place I will go to again.
Absolutely fantastic! Brenner Pass moves into our top 5 Richmond restaurants! Make sure you experience the cheese cart.
Food was delicious and service was excellent! Highly recommend!
High quality ingredients prepared in creative ways made for an excellent meal! I had the whole trout and it was wonderful!
Should have been better for the price. The bar was amazing and the ambiance was great. Unfortunately, the food and service fell short.
I needed to look up several things on the menu but was pleasantly surprised when everything came out 10 times better then what I expected.
I love the ambiance, especially as the sun goes down. Our server was great. The espresso creme brulee was perfection, one of the best I've ever had. The fondue was a little too authentic for my taste. I would have preferred a few different dipping options (raw cauliflower). Next time I'd definitely like to try the charcuterie. The brussel sprouts side was wonderful. We came because of the name (we biked over the Brenner Pass last spring so it has a nostalgia for us), but we'll definitely be back for more!
Wow! Super impressed. After years of eating in amazing places in Brooklyn and Manhattan just can’t rave enough about the awesome food we had. Brussel sprouts were delicious, the pork just fell off the bone and the onion appetizer was just perfect. Can’t wait to come back to Richmond.
Super good food!! I’ll be back!
Delicious and great service
The food and service were amazing. The bartender recommended the fondue burger by saying that “she wakes up thinking about”...true! We haven’t stopped thinking about it since we left the restaurant! The tagliatelle was also amazing - simple but so flavorful. Parking was easy and the decor was beautiful. We made a reservation for the bar - it was nice but definitely lacking in space. The party next to us was very much into our space, pushing us into the area where the wait staff pick up drink orders from the bar. We’ll definitely be back but I think we’ll hold out for a table next time.
Kevin, our server, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Came for an anniversary dinner and received lovely special treatment that really made our night. Our whole meal was delicious. We sampled excellent cheese based on very knowledgeable recommendations from our server. Onion tart was special. Brussel sprouts were outstanding. Cocktail selections are super creative and did not disappoint. It's worth saving room for desert too!
Definitely coming back and have already recommended to friends.
Always a great experience at Brenner Pass! The fondue burger is the absolute best
Great ambiance and service. Food was average and overpriced.
I take clients here often. One of my favorite foodie places in town. All the natural light in the space is wonderful.
The food was great - we were especially impressed with the cheese and charcuterie selections. The chicken liver mousse was outstanding. Frisee salad and onion tart were also very well done. We both had the gnocchi with pork shoulder for entrees - perfect dish for a chilly February evening. The gnocchi were light and fluffy, the sauce could have used a bit more salt/seasoning but was still very good. Service was slow, the dinner took 2.5 hours. I had told them it was my husband’s birthday, so I was expecting dessert but we didn’t receive anything. The table next to us did for one of their guests, so I guess this was an oversight. We would still go back, I’m very curious to try the fondue.
Dinner was great. A little noisy, but generally laid back crowd. I like their food, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a different experience in RVA.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food and drinks were wonderful!
Cheese please ... It's not just about the cheese but to their cheese is so good. The house made charcuterie is worth the visit alone. Their drinks were as great as I heard they'd be. The onion Swiss tart that sang of the Alps creamy and earthy yum. Can get a little loud but didn't bother us . Our waitress was helpful and knowledgeable always there when we needed her but not intrusive. Thanks Brenner Pass you're our new favorite restaurant.
Cheese course was excellent. Everything else was good but not exceptional
Great food. Ambience was good too. Noise level was better than earlier times when I dined there because it was not full to the rafters. That was probably because it was a Monday night!
Grant was a terrific waiter. Really upped the experience with his recommendations, was there when you needed him but not intrusive. Brenner pas was the perfect spot for a lighter dinner after the movies.
The Oeufs Mayonnaise were underwhelming, which is why I rated food as 4 stars, however, everything else was very good! The steak au poivre was phenomenal and the gnocchi and brussels were both awesome. Portions were fine - the steak was actually a much larger portion than anticipated. The decor and ambiance are minimalistic and the service was great. Highly recommend!
The food and wine were very good...aura good. Price is a bit high and menu could be more user friendly. We had to ask the server a lot of questions.
Amazing restaurant! Service was wonderful and the food was some of the best we’ve experienced in RVA.
Food was fantastic. We really enjoyed the charcuterie board. The pork shanks were to die for...crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside.
Our waitress talked more than we had hoped.
Great food, nice service
The food was very good, albeit pricey. Very nice ambiance, server was very attentive. Had the beef tongue schnitzel, duck breast, and brussel sprouts, all of which where phenomenal.
So loved my first trip to Brenner for a Valentines dinner! The staff were all so pleasant, loved the atmosphere and all the food was sensational! A wonderful spot in Richmond!
We went for a family Valentines Day dinner, and had a great meal. The cocktails are always great here - inventive and unusual, but always delicious. Try the Snow Bunny - one of my favorites! I’d actually forgotten that Valentines Day was going to be a set menu, so was a little sad not to have the options from the usual menu but everything we tried was wonderful. We always have to start with cheese and charcuterie so was happy to see that was still available. LOVED the fois gras mousse, house made smoked ricotta, and guanciale served paper thin with an assortment of pickles, mustard and pear butter. Favorites for dinner were the radicchio salad with dried figs and pine nut crumble, the oysters appetizer, and the sea bass. Actually, all the fish I’ve had here has been perfect. The desserts were all very good, too, and beautifully presented. This is one of our family’s favorite destinations for a great night out in Richmond; highly recommend for any foodies!
The fixed menu for Valentine's Day was not quite as good as it was last year, although everything was nonetheless quite enjoyable. The beer menu was good, not great this time around. I like Brenner Pass, I like the staff, and I will keep going back. My criticisms are slight, given how much I enjoy the place.
