Brennan's of Houston
We had a great time!
Beautiful restaurant! Delicious food! Loved the unusual Pimento Cheese grits. Dessert was a show with tableside bananas foster. Great service-thanks Greg! Only improvement would be better handicapped accessibility from the valet to the door.
Turtle soup is always delicious!
Went here for Restaurant Week. Three course dinner was just ok. Had salad for first course and it was good. The entree for the second course was luke warm and the sauce was too. Thankfully the third course dessert of bread pudding was good. Came here for the experience because I’ve never been but probably won’t come back again.
My husband and I went to Brennan’s for my birthday dinner and every minute of our experience was wonderful! Our server, Francisco, was great - attentive, but not overbearing. He and the restaurant staff went above and beyond to make my birthday evening special - from table decorations to a complimentary shrimp and cucumber appetizer from the kitchen. Our meals were delicious and we enjoyed the wine selection. We will be back, and plan to bring our family from out of town.
Hello, Thank you for your review! We love to hear that you enjoyed your birthday. I can't wait to tell Francisco about the review. Look forward to meeting the rest of the family!
Overall just ok and not impressed. Much better resturants at or below their price point. Mediocre service.
Hello Misty, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your visit with us. I'm going to message you privately to see if you'd consider sharing additional details. Thank you.
Everything was perfect!!!
Thank you, Sarah!
Everything was fantastic
A friend from South America was in town and had never had Louisiana food, so we went to Brennan's. He absolutely loved it. All four of us had wonderful, delcious meals. A perfect experience. Brennan's delivered, as they always have for us.
Hello Stephan, Thank you for the review! We are delighted when our guest bring friends who have never been with us before. We appreciate the patronage and look forward to having you back in again.
It was our 50th wedding anniversary and Brennan’s had a special table ready for us. The food is always delicious. The waitstaff including Greg was exceptional. Carl Walker, general manager greeted us upon our arrival and even walked out after dinner to the valet station.
Hello Dianne, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It was most certainly our pleasure for getting the opportunity to celebrate this special occasion.
Fabulous food. Great service. Highly recommend this restaurant!
We celebrated a milestone bday. He was made to feel very special!
One fabulous foodie experience, from the mountain of pralines when you walk in the door to the last bite beignets, with gastro stops along the way like turtle soup, shrimp remoulade, and a mouth-watering filet mignon. The pace was perfect to savor each bite.
Great food and great atmosphere!!
Great restaurant but I lost my sentimental custom made family stone bracelet if anyone finds it please contact us. We will pay a reward. We love this restaurant
Everything about our experience at Brennan’s was great. Every time we dine there, we are so pleased with the service, food and attention to details!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback.
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we were treated very well. This is not the first time we have celebrated an anniversary at Brennan's and it will not be the last.
They were super busy but waiter was as attentive as he could be. It gets very noisy in there at Sunday brunch but not much you can do about that.
The restaurant was extremely crowded when we arrived for Sunday Brunch. We had difficulty checking in due to the large crowds in the lobby. Once we arrived at our table, we began to enjoy brunch.
Houston Restaurant Weeks brunch with friends because we miss Commanders Palace in NOLA!
Thank you for the review! Anytime you're missing our sister restaurant, we hope we can fulfill that memory in Houston!
Brennan's always excels in service, food quality and ambiance! One of our fans!
We went to Brennans' for Restaurant Week Sunday Brunch, which was a fabulous value. The turtle soup was amazing, but the star of the brunch was the beef debris. It was beef with had been roasted with an incredible sauce, served over melt-in-your-mouth biscuits, topped with perfectly poached eggs. We will definitely be going back for more. The atmosphere was spectacular. It was true Houston elegance. The service was top notch.
Hello HappyNHouston, We are so thrilled to hear you enjoyed your visit with us! We cannot wait for you to come back and see us again. It would be our honor to have you back in!
Wonderful experience all around! Thank you!
Wonderful experience! Loved every second we were there. The Banana Foster was sublime.
We have enjoyed many family celebration dinners at Brennan's, because if we hadn't been before based on this experience we wouldn't go back. Lovely place, love the ambience always. BUT...walked in and furst question after reservation name is "Are you here for the Restaurant Week"...yes, off we go to the main dining room that i assume was filled with HRW customers for their assembly line brunch. Ordered Mimosas, which were tasty, but waiter brings them without napkins and spills/leaves rings on the tablecloth. I had to ask for for napkins to cleanup. Next, gentleman comes with a roll basket and puts two pieces at each place setting. Hard and not too tasty, obviously sitting out for this assembly line brunch. Eggs Benedict...i cant get my photo to load -- small, hard pieces of asparagus, maybe totally one stalk, were chopped sitting on the side of the plate with a few red peppers. Very unattractive plate. The eggs were just barely on the warm side, assume had been sitting waiting to be picked up .. waiters hustling but seemed to be understaffed in this room. Had a $200 Gold Americans Express gift card. We told the waiter that it was a gift card! Without mentioning it, he runs it for the bill plus 15%!!!! Husband doesnt have his glasses so when he is trying to calculate his 18% tip he thinks the bill seems a bit and actually sees something has already been added, didnt show on the add tip, total and sign receipt. We just left says ....Hmmmmm. Dont get on HRW if you really arent into it. We go out twice a week during this Support the Food Bank time and enjoy many lively dinners and serving ce. This wasnt one of them.
Hello Kalat, we've messaged you privately to get the details of your reservation so we can correct this immediately. I'm sorry about your last experience with us and we hope you give us a chance to make this up to you.
My hubby and I came here for Houston Restaurant week and the food wasn’t that enjoyable. We expected more but service and atmosphere were very nice and romantic, but we decided this wasn’t the spot for us because out tastebuds just weren’t satisfied 🤷🏼♀️
Have been a loyal patron of Brennan’s for years. Food is always exceptional. However, of the many times I’ve visited, this was the first time I experienced poor service. Perhaps due to HRW? Lunch ended up being more than 2 hours. Server seemed distracted and too busy to cater to us. Bus person was actually better. Despite this, would still recommend due to food perfection.
Our first time here. The waiter Joe was very attentive and humorous. We ordered the turtle soup as appetizer because so many reviews had recommended it. It tasted sour. Maybe it has lemon juice in it? The filet mignon was cooked to order but had little flavor. Desserts were good.
Great place to meet friends for lunch, dinner etc. The food is always delicious. The staff treat you like you are their only priority.
Brennans is one of our favorite restaurants but tonight was a BAD experience. We got a great table, drinks and first course were perfect. Main course came and the two of us that had ordered the duck were sadly disappointed. Meat was properly cooked but was extremely tough. Very difficult to cut and nearly impossible to chew. Both diners came to the same conclusion at the same time, “send it back”. This was a very old duck. It took a long time to finally get a waiters (not ours) attention but once a manager got involved they quickly provided substitutes. The next problem came with delays in trying to get the check, then trying to get the corrected check all while being buffeted by a very loud neighboring table of well lubricated merry makers. Once we were finally able to get the second check we paid it and left. It was only later that I realized that we had still been charged for one of the duck dinners and the two substitutes! We will probably all go back to Brennans some day but it will be a while.
Absolutely . Everything is always top notch. It’s my favorite restaurant in Houston.
Fantastic! Service was great. Food exceptional. Atmosphere very pleasing.
What a wonderful dining experience we had at Brennan's!! The whole evening was perfect! My brother gave the short ribs a 10.5 on a scale from 1 to 10 --high praise from him! We were celebrating my sister's birthday and the restaurant and staff went out of their way to mark her special occasion. I can't wait to eat there again!
Absolutely wonderful meal. Only detail was I wanted any other veg instead of collard greens and they could not substitute.
The Brennans' team made for an enjoyable dining experience, as expected. Perfectly prepared soft shell crab and attentive (yet non-intrusive) service were pluses. Note, as in so many places, the wine list is expensive. Instead, we opted for well-crafted cocktails and glasses of wine. We didn't pass up the table-side flamed bananas foster, my kind of comfort food.
Never disappointed. Everything was excellent as always
Food’s always great. But I especially love their musical trio on Sundays. Thanks, guys, for the off-the-cuff version of Pink Floyd’s Us and Them today!
We went for Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW) for brunch. Brennan’s also had their own three course for brunch but we decided that would be too much food. They provide you with small cinnamon muffins and biscuits. While the muffins were good, surprisingly it was the biscuits, with their powdery lightness that we loved. Both my date and I got the same things. First course Brennan’s famous turtle soup, did not disappoint. Second course was beef debris (debris is roast beef that is cooked until it falls apart) on a biscuit with poached eggs—kind of like eggs Benedict with debris instead of ham. Understand that I have had debris before at such places as Mother’s in New Orleans... this is so much better. It is amazing that Brennan’s can take a dish that is often so heavy and make it so light and tender. Well done, as was the tasty praline on the way out.
Delicious as always. Especially like taking advantage of HRW and it’s far a great cause.
