Welcome back Brennan’s !
From the Pre dinner sazerac to the turtle soup, everything was delicious .
And pralines to go were safely wrapped and Ready for you upon departure .
Always a first class experience with a one of a kind menu. It makes you feel
like you’re in NOLA. Ask for a table with high back chairs for the ultimate intimate dining experience.
Thanks for a good experience and good food. Would recommend and will return.
Food was good...Turtle soup awesome. Hubby said his beef tips needed more season. Not sure why we were seated in the side dining room versus the big fancier main room that we like a lot better. We were dressed formally.
Brennan’s of Houston was as expected. They sport an enormous wine list, a plentiful bar, and a menu that is fish, beef, and veggie stacked with a Louisiana flare. The staff was good, the food was great, and the location was easy to get to. Would eat there again when in Houston.
Birthday night was terrific
It was my daughter’s 14 th birthday and they made her feel like”The belle of the ball”!
Wonderful! A true culinary experience.
Great way to celebrate a birthday!!
Always one of the best dining experience in Houston. Everything was fantastic.
All four seafood dishes ordered by our party were delicious, particularly the Gulf fish Pontchartrain. Poached pear salad starter was made available although not on the menu. All soups get high marks. At the end, an outstanding cup of coffee! Our table was near a busy hallway and service area, thus a lot of hustle and bustle to contend with.
Brennan’s offers great food and outstanding service in a warm inviting atmosphere.
We go every time when visiting Houston. Always a great experience and meal!
Brennan’s is one of Houston’s finest restaurants. The historic building, the interior design, the cuisine and the service are all without equal. Brennan’s always exceeds our expectations.
Excellent food and service! Very disappointed Brennan’s high standards of excellence have been relaxed to allow patrons wearing shorts, sneakers and t-shirts, as there was at two different tables near us today! Brennan’s is less than it used to be!
Great food and service, as always!
Exceptional quality and impeccable service keep us coming back! I love going to eat knowing Brennan's will exceed my expectations. The courteous staff were helpful and attentive to our elementary age children (this is not always the case in some high-end restaurants) and made them feel welcome with pre-meal strawberries and cream . Brennan's provided unsurpassed help in planning my wife's recent birthday dinner with family, even arranging the flowers for the table. I always recommend Brennan's of Houston for an unsurpassed dining experience.
All good apart from our table stuck in the corner nearest the door.
Atmosphere was festive. Service was great. Food is always good. Brennan’s is always a good choice
Brennan's is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston but our last experience fell short of their normal excellence.
The soup trio (1-1-1) is usually a highlight but this time the turtle soup was tasteless and the gumbo was so loaded with rice there was no room for anything else.
I was really excited for the Creole Spiced Ribeye but was disappointed again. I asked for it to be cooked Medium Rare +. The inside of the steak was leaning more towards medium well and the outside was burned and charred. I appreciate a good sear, but this was too far. The most disappointing part was the cut of meat. For $61 I expect a ribeye to just melt due to the wonderful marbling. This piece of meat was extremely tough and sinewy. Not at all pleasant to eat.
The other bothersome issue was the very rude waiter who constantly interrupted our conversation to get his job done. We were in no hurry and wanted to socialize over our drinks before ordering. The constant interruptions were incredibly off-putting and really put a damper on the evening.
I have had wonderful dinners at Brennan's and do hope this was just an anomaly as I would hate to take Brennan's out of our rotation. The other diners' dishes ranged from OK to really good. The Bananas Foster was fantastic as usual. We will be back, but it will be a while before we return.
perfect birthday celebration location
Always a pleasure.
Wonderful dining and everything tasted delicious!
Food and service is first class. Sunday brunch was very enjoyable and wandering jazz group and ambience
Our servers were great the food was not that good and the people at the table next us were in constant chatter with several wait staff and the head chef so much so that I did not enjoy my dinner with my husband. Will not go again. The steak which was touted as aged ribeye cost too much and was tough. The knife given to cut it did not do the trick. When I sent them a similar review they did not even acknowledge my response. Poor taste
The food and service were outstanding. We were celebrating Valentine's Day at 2 PM. This was special. I also appreciated that the menu was the typical menu. We did not feel the prices were escalated for Valentine's Day.
Standing lunch date with my daughter on valentines for 20 years. Always great. Don’t know what we’ll do if they ever close.
Awesome restaurant... only concern that I had was that I did not hang up my coat before sitting down and I had it comfortably on my chair and the server kept running into my chair and coat throughout the meal as we were dining.... he was in a hurry to get around our table and serve other guests, I suppose.
We are HUGE fans of Commander's Palace and Brennan's in New Orleans and had high expectations going in. Those expectations were exceeded! The space is BEAUTIFUL. The food is PERFECTION. And service is IMPECCABLE!!!
Our meal began with a lagniappe of DELICIOUS shrimp remoulade and the most flavorful garlic bread. And of course a 25 cent Martini! It was suggested to us by Thomas, our SPECTACULAR server, that we order the Gulf Fish Borgne which is the signature dish and features Jumbo Lump Crab, J&J Shrimp, Louisiana Oysters, Parmesan Mushroom Rice, and Brennan's Creole Butter. We also got the Creole Cobb which had Wood-Grilled Texas Shrimp, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Brioche Croutons, Grape Tomatoes, Maytag Blue Cheese, and Cayenne Avocado Dressing. The dressing was the best we have ever had on a Cobb and the shrimp were moist and flavorful. And since it was crawfish season, Thomas suggested a side and it was divine!
But the highlight of the lunch was Thomas. As he seated us, he asked where we were from. When we told him "Los Angeles" he asked how we were all doing in LA with the loss of Kobe Bryant. As a third generation Los Angeleno, the heartfelt sincerity of his question brought tears to my eyes. We felt we were at home as we reminisced about what Kobe meant to his fans and Thomas shared his own stories.
And that is the gift of the Brennan restaurants. They feel like the best your home could be because of the care that goes into EVERYTHING!
