Always exceeds expectations, never a bad meal. great
The service and food were top notch and worth the visit and I definitely recommend Breakneck Tavern.
We sat on the patio on a beautiful evening and the only down side was the excessive noise from Rte. 228 which is adjacent to the restaurant.
My husband and I selected Breakneck Tavern to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious! We were seated in a room with 2 tables that were set for large parties. Before our meal arrived the 1st party of about 10-12 adults were seated. They were insanely loud and boisterous and spoiled the ambiance for us. We couldn’t hear each other speak. I had made our reservation 5 days in advance and feel that we could have been seated elsewhere where the atmosphere was a little more conducive to a smaller party. Yes! We will come back. We really do like the restaurant. Maybe customer seating should be evacuated in the future. I don’t feel that parties of 2 should be seated with mega groups of people, especially when advance reservations are made.
Grandparents Day brunch
We had an excellent lunch and drinks on the patio. Our server was very kind and helpful, we
really liked her. The Manager came to our table and ask if everything was okay, which was also very nice.
Thank you to our server and Breakneck.
Food was great, reasonably priced. they don't do anything special for birthdays. That was a little disappointing
It was Labor Day and difficult to find a place open for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Breakneck Tavern was open! We enjoyed a great dinner. In fact, my salad was so good that I got a second one to go for lunch the next day.
We had the brisket tacos as a appetizer and they were delicious. Seriously good. My husband had the shrimp and grits and I swear he licked the bowl. I had the Cajun blue crab pasta and there was so much crab meat in it that I couldn't eat it all. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be going back.
Great Food and good craft beer list! Make sure to make a reservation if you are on a time table.
Great staff and environment!! Food was good. We would definitely go back again. Maybe a little too $$ for the type of restaurant, but wouldn't deter from returning.
Best Bruschetta you have ever had!
I enjoyed my visit to Breckneck Tavern! Super great atmosphere and food. Thank you for a great dinner!
Probably our favorite restaurant because food is always good as well as the service. Also like the creativity in the menu
Have always had excellent service and good experiences in the past. We elected to eat outside during our last visit and the steaks were cold as were the side dishes. The server and manager were very apologetic
Good place for dinner or a party (nice back room) or to meet friends (yuppie bar). Good food selection, good draft beer selection, California decor. You'd never know you were in Mars.
Overall the evening was good. My wife, who was celebrating her birthday enjoyed her meal, as did most of us. However, the caesar salad and cob salad dressings had very little flavor. The bruschetta and potato sausage soup were excellent. Our waitress made a special lemonade for my daughter which she enjoyed.
Went to dinner with the family. Service was so slow and appetizer came out burnt. Disappointed.
Ive eaten here other times and its been good but this time I was a little disappointed. Gargenzola Hummus was excellent. My dinner the blue cheese crusted hanger steak was ok at best, needed seasoned more, samething with the risotto. The waitress was very nice and polite but slow as molasses. Took forever to take our order, asked twice for lemons for my water i finally just accepted she wasnt going to bring them but then they showed up a while later. Numerous times walked by us after clearly we were done eating was going to walk by again until I stopped her and asked for the check and boxes to go. My wife at this time ordered a growler and the waitress said she would let us know the price. I didnt realize at the time but that is what saved the service for me. About what felt like 20 minutes later she came back and said the Growler cost $45 and $20 to fill. What!!!! Thankfully my wife said no thanks. I kind of knew the fancy looking colorful growlers werent going to cheap but not that expensive. Finally when she came with the check, we had her stay there while we looked it over before she left. If we hadnt who knows how long we would of waited for her to come back. Reservation was at 5:30 and we finally left there at 7:15 seems a little long to me. I will still give this place another shot and i would still recommend it with a disclaimer for now.
Not sure if I understood how to select noise level rating on the previous page. It was fine. As a matter of fact, when we arrived, the hostess gave us an option of which side we wanted to be seated. There was a private party going on in the back corner and she advised it would be quieter on the opposite side. We sat in a booth along the wall of the bar side. It was relatively quiet. My husband and I could easily converse with each other. The food was great and the service was wonderful.
Excellent service! Great brunch menu!
Great for Sunday brunch
We have had great meals with Breakneck in the past. This experience was not the most impressive - it was still good, but not the extraordinary experience that we were expecting. Our server was fine, but unfortunately our runner wasn't given instructions on which meal to serve each person and a salad was left behind. Also, the food and cocktails did not live up to our expectations based on previous dining experiences. We will still return to Breakneck and hope that our recent visit was not the norm!
I wasn't expecting chef-quality food at this place, but that's what I got. Really quite outstanding. The brussel sprouts are the best I've ever had.
Waited for food for a very long time..like 50 minutes
This was our first time dining at the restaurant and our food was excellent. The service was great. We will definitely return.
Loved everything about Breakneck except the extremely hard chairs.
We arrived at 7:06 for our 7:15 reservation. We were told we would have to wait even though there appeared to be available seating. We waited for 5 minutes in the front entrance (which we were encouraged to wait at the bar instead), and then brought to our table. No one entered the restaurant in those 5 minutes so I am not sure why we needed to wait to be seated other than to be encouraged to go to the bar to spend money on drinks. I ordered a crab cake sandwich which tasted like tuna salad molded into a cake. It was topped with something fried and slimy inside. I can't quite remember what the menu stated that was on it. This was the second time I visited, and I can't say that I am eager to return.
Fantastic meal, drinks and deserts. Definitely our new favorite local joint.
Very much enjoyed the patio seating. The evening special was absolutely fantastic!
We live 40 minutes away, but gladly drive the distance to eat here at least twice a month. We were lucky to have Kris as our server both of our visits in July. She is amazing...attentive and pleasant.
The food is delicious especially the scallops with apples, cranberries, and cheesy grits. Can't wait for our next family dinner.
Can't wait to go back and try more of the wonderful menu. Service was really good, food was outstanding!
A coworker suggested this restaurant to my husband and me. We made reservations through Open Table while we were driving home from Cranberry to Kittanning. Our reservations were for 7:30pm and we were seated at 7:45. We could have taken outdoor seating earlier but chose to not sit out in the humidity.
We ordered the stuffed pepper appetizer and it was spicy goodness!!!!!! Oh so yummy.
My husband had a burger and I did the Rueben. He loved the burger. I’ve had much better Rueben sandwiches at other restaurants so that is the only reason for a lower rating. But overall it was good. Could be considered a bit on the pricey side for most people in my friend circle but I would definitely go back.
Very cool place. Almost a "beachy" vibe with a trendy flare. Great list of IPO's and other beer on tap. Rotates frequently. The chicken (locally sourced) was quite possibly the best I've had. This has definitely earned in a spot in our "frequently visited" category list. Highly recommend.
Good food, great ambiance.
I prefer brunch menu to their dinner menu.
4.5/5 on the whiskey selection.
You need to advertise more towards butler. My mom was in the nursing home at st. Mark's. That's how we found you. We at least come back once a year because of the food. Great job!
The service was friendly but definitely understaffed for the crowd. The noise level was quite high, especially considering we were in own booth. The food was just poorly done ... poorly cooked, oddly arranged pairings.
Food was good, but not worth $164.00 plus 20% tip. 3 people 3 glasses of wine.
Entree orders received a few minutes after appetizers delivered. Rushed feel this evening. Usually order appetizer and delay ordering entree until almost done.....should do that always.
Tried the fish sandwich & it was delicious.
Loved the food, and the choice of eating in the dining room or bar. Dining room was fairly quiet, bar energetic. The food is always different enough - not the same old things or something I would make at home. Everything was great.
