Not sure if I understood how to select noise level rating on the previous page. It was fine. As a matter of fact, when we arrived, the hostess gave us an option of which side we wanted to be seated. There was a private party going on in the back corner and she advised it would be quieter on the opposite side. We sat in a booth along the wall of the bar side. It was relatively quiet. My husband and I could easily converse with each other. The food was great and the service was wonderful.
Great for Sunday brunch
We have had great meals with Breakneck in the past. This experience was not the most impressive - it was still good, but not the extraordinary experience that we were expecting. Our server was fine, but unfortunately our runner wasn't given instructions on which meal to serve each person and a salad was left behind. Also, the food and cocktails did not live up to our expectations based on previous dining experiences. We will still return to Breakneck and hope that our recent visit was not the norm!
Waited for food for a very long time..like 50 minutes
This was our first time dining at the restaurant and our food was excellent. The service was great. We will definitely return.
Loved everything about Breakneck except the extremely hard chairs.
We arrived at 7:06 for our 7:15 reservation. We were told we would have to wait even though there appeared to be available seating. We waited for 5 minutes in the front entrance (which we were encouraged to wait at the bar instead), and then brought to our table. No one entered the restaurant in those 5 minutes so I am not sure why we needed to wait to be seated other than to be encouraged to go to the bar to spend money on drinks. I ordered a crab cake sandwich which tasted like tuna salad molded into a cake. It was topped with something fried and slimy inside. I can't quite remember what the menu stated that was on it. This was the second time I visited, and I can't say that I am eager to return.
Fantastic meal, drinks and deserts. Definitely our new favorite local joint.
Very much enjoyed the patio seating. The evening special was absolutely fantastic!
We live 40 minutes away, but gladly drive the distance to eat here at least twice a month. We were lucky to have Kris as our server both of our visits in July. She is amazing...attentive and pleasant.
The food is delicious especially the scallops with apples, cranberries, and cheesy grits. Can't wait for our next family dinner.
Can't wait to go back and try more of the wonderful menu. Service was really good, food was outstanding!
A coworker suggested this restaurant to my husband and me. We made reservations through Open Table while we were driving home from Cranberry to Kittanning. Our reservations were for 7:30pm and we were seated at 7:45. We could have taken outdoor seating earlier but chose to not sit out in the humidity.
We ordered the stuffed pepper appetizer and it was spicy goodness!!!!!! Oh so yummy.
My husband had a burger and I did the Rueben. He loved the burger. I’ve had much better Rueben sandwiches at other restaurants so that is the only reason for a lower rating. But overall it was good. Could be considered a bit on the pricey side for most people in my friend circle but I would definitely go back.
Very cool place. Almost a "beachy" vibe with a trendy flare. Great list of IPO's and other beer on tap. Rotates frequently. The chicken (locally sourced) was quite possibly the best I've had. This has definitely earned in a spot in our "frequently visited" category list. Highly recommend.
Good food, great ambiance.
I prefer brunch menu to their dinner menu.
4.5/5 on the whiskey selection.
You need to advertise more towards butler. My mom was in the nursing home at st. Mark's. That's how we found you. We at least come back once a year because of the food. Great job!
The service was friendly but definitely understaffed for the crowd. The noise level was quite high, especially considering we were in own booth. The food was just poorly done ... poorly cooked, oddly arranged pairings.
Food was good, but not worth $164.00 plus 20% tip. 3 people 3 glasses of wine.
Entree orders received a few minutes after appetizers delivered. Rushed feel this evening. Usually order appetizer and delay ordering entree until almost done.....should do that always.
Tried the fish sandwich & it was delicious.
Loved the food, and the choice of eating in the dining room or bar. Dining room was fairly quiet, bar energetic. The food is always different enough - not the same old things or something I would make at home. Everything was great.
Took friends from out of town. There were so many different things on the menu that sounded delish that we had a hard time deciding. Food was great and Denise (our server)was outstanding.
The brisket was very fatty. Should have been cleaned up to mix with Mac and Cheese. Both of us didn’t feel well after eating there.
Excellent food, great for date night but also family friendly. Will be back again very soon
Scallops where excellent. Best black bean burger !
Always looking for a good place to eat while in the Butler area. Found this gem. Menu had a good variety leaning towards southern and Cajun. Party had ny strip and hangar steaks, rack of lamb, a burger, wings, and some shares like fried green tomatoes and brussel sprouts. Everything was cooked to order and quite good. Look forward to returning on a future trip home.
Easy neighborhood lace for a great dinner snd drinks with friends:)
Rarely eat fries unless they are homemade and the homemade Breakneck fries did not disappoint — worth every calorie. Great selection of wine and beer. Wait staff was timely and always asked before whisking away an almost empty plate. We were staying at a hotel 8 miles down the road and were so glad we chose this place over closer options.
We have been to this restaurant several times for dinner and lunch off the menu and always had a good experience. This was the second time we went for a special occasion buffet (father’s day) and both times the food was poorly prepared, dried out and very disappointing especially for the price ($34.50 per person including a beverage). My wife, my daughter and I could not think of one thing on the lengthy buffet table that was even average.
We all agreed it was the worst dining experience any of us could remember, again especially given the price. We won’t be back for one of these buffets. Felt like a rip off.
Always excellent service and delicious food. One of our favorite spots.
Online menu needs to be updated. Many vintage drinks were no longer available.
The food was just fair for the price. Service was mediocre. I told our waitress that it was our first time at the restaurant and her only response was to recite the specials.
Great local restaurant. Food is top notch - I had Rack of Lamb that was delicious and the small salted caramel brownie parfait was the perfect size and hit the spot. Service was excellent. I always feel like they appreciate their customers and want them to come back.
Unexpectedly cool tavern! Flavors were quite good. Lots of hard surfaces, so a little noisy.
Food, environment, service was five stars in all aspects- Service was outstanding!!!
Breakneck tavern is one of our favorite spots. It is perfect for casual bar food or an elegant night out. We went for our anniversary and as usual it did not disappoint!
The food was average at best. They usually have good food but it was a very bad day. The lamb was to well done, the lobster was the size of a shrimp not lobster.
Food was good but service was terrible.
Our server had a large party that was giving him a hard time about service and we were completely forgotten. It wasn’t until I started refilling our water glasses myself from the server station and getting soda refills from the bar directly that a manager stepped in to assist.
No discount offered on the bill and only a courtesy “sorry” on the way out. The dining room was empty besides us and the large party.
The quality of the food can’t overcome bad service or poor management. There may have only been a few groups dining but everyone seemed to be having problems.
We were seated very fast with reservations. Food was delicious. Really enjoyed the hammer cocktail and sangria. The only drawbacks were slow service and very noisy atmosphere. I think it was just our server who seemed a bit off as others seemed quicker. We will definitely go back, especially to try the Sunday brunch.
Food was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back again soon for date night!
