Interesting but limited menu for brunch. Food was delicious. Not a quick place but I believe it was not meant to be. Liked very much
Great food, loved the scallop special “bibimbop” style and our waitress was very informative and attentive.
We were very disappointed and would not return. We were the only couple in the dining room, 4 oz of lobster meat for $22 is ashame. Other dining for same price or less give generous portions. Menu is very limited. Not returning.
Coast Guard has a view this place has nothing.
Appetizers- the kale ceaser was delicious, just enough dressing. Oysters - perfect. Main meals-I had the salmon, the portion was small but the overall taste of the dish made up for it, It was cooked perfectly. If you are a salmon lover I would definately recommend this dish. Just be aware you will have room for desert. My company had a scallop special which was amazing. The main dishes were put together in a creative way and different from another very popular seafood restaurant which has not changed thier menu in years. Desert- Pistascshio Creme-Brule; all I can say is Oh My! Another plus is the ability to make dinner reservations, as the summer season revs up the ability to make dinner reservations is a huge plus! Over all excellent seafood entrees and a fantastic dinner out- a little pricey for portion size but you soon forget all about that after your first bite!
Terrible service. Reason to believe waiter was the problem rather than the bartender or the kitchen. One of our guests was through with his meal and still waiting for his glass of wine only to find it waiting on the bar with the bartender. For the poor service, the price was far excessive. Even for outstanding service, the price was high. Will not return to dine here.
Good food and service at reasonable prices. Located in the quiet and upscale Narraganset community.
The restaurant is beautiful but extremely noisy . My friend and I had to yell at each other. The food was well prepared and tasty but very small portions, our salmon dinners looked like appetizers, even the dessert was small . I was still hungry when I got home . Too bad because it is pretty but I won’t be going back any time soon .
If you've never been, with a visit.
Will be nice in warmer weather.
a Very enjoyable evening at Chair 5. Excellent service and a creative menu. I had the special with kim chi and they were very amenable to substituting salmon for scallops. Very nice.
Dinner was beyond delicious!!! The creativity and presentation of the food was out of this world not to mention so tasty!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish!! Two Thumbs Up for the chef!!! Staff was very friendly as well!! Can’t wait to go back...never disappoints!!!
Very beautiful place. Pasta was awesome.. made there fresh. Good service. Has a new feel to it and some aspects of the meal weren't perfect but was very good.
I've eaten here several times, more for convenience. This meal was outstanding. Turns out there is a new chef. Now taken the restaurant to a new level. Will be back because the food is now really special.
We went to listen to music and have dinner. We sat upstairs and the view was great, as was the food. Waitress also friendly and helpful.
Nothing exceptional; 4 of us and none of us is inclined to return. Too many better choices.
You go for the ambiance and location, not the food.
Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful spot with good drinks. Only 3 tables seated and food took quite some time to come out. Ordered a breakfast burrito described to have pulled pork, a creme fraiche sauce. A few bites in, I asked for some hot sauce since it was really bland. After a few more bites I notice it’s basically eggs and potatoes. I asked the waitress if this was what I ordered since there’s no meat etc didn’t sound like the men description. She stated she’d let the kitchen know they forgot the meat. Nothing was taken off the bill. Such a pretty spot Just disappointed with our experience.
An event was happening downstairs so it was very crowded. No staff greeted us or redirected us upstairs to where dinner was being served that night. After asking the hosts of the event where to go we took the elevator upstairs. There again, we were not greeted. The dining room was unwelcoming. We left and went to the Matunuck Oyster Bar.
Danielle was great - entree could have been better. Food doesn't stack up w/ the rest of the experience (service, location, interior space....)
They only had a buffet, didn't say it was $35. Just a few items. Eggs were cold. Pancakes were cold and larger than the small plates made available. Weird. Sausages were cold. There was one piece of bacon in the tray. The waitress was very nice. Not the manager. He said: I understand the food is not up to your expectations. What? Who likes cold eggs and pancakes? Too many other better places nearby to ever go here again.
Great out of the way place with style and class but a beach appeal.
Chair 5 has combined a cool modern beach design with fusion food! Prices vary from inexpensive to pricey, and there is something on the menu for everyone. The fries are not to be missed, the fish tacos are delicious, and the wine, beer and cocktail menu are extensive. Highly recommend this bar and restaurant to anyone in the area!
Great food, service and setting!
Our meals and cocktails were very good but the menu, for our tastes, was a bit limited. The restaurant and upstairs bar though, were as cool as any I've been in, ambience was amazing.
Excellent food, drinks, service and ambiance.
Upscale beach vibe and delicious food! Alexa, our server, was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and very sweet to talk to. The frisee salad was simple but so yummy. I had the scallop special and they were cooked to perfection although I thought the broth was a little salty. The doughboy dessert was a great way to end the meal. And the blueberry gin cocktail was beautiful and tasty
Unique food choices- fabulous fish! Beautiful decor... bit pricey downstairs but worth the view and sunset up!!
Have been a few times and never been disappointed. Waiter, Brad was great. Attentive with a nice approach. Food was very good. Fish tacos, lobster roll, clam chowder. Fries fantastic! Great ambiance.
Our second time at Chair 5 and this experience was much better. Brad, our waiter, was attentive and personable. The tuna special was terrific. A lovely evening with great food!
Just OK, friendly service, average food. Pricey for what it is & isn't.
This is a very nice restaurant overall, with good quality food and some new presentation ideas.
Beautiful view, service and food outstanding. Liked the variety of cocktails on the drink menu.
Beautifully decorated and food was excellent. The bar on 4th floor awesome place for pre-dinner drink.
Our third time at this restaurant and the food has been consistently near perfect. Nice rooftop bar. We live in Newport are are making the drive to this place and we will go again.
food was great! waitress took our order in a timely manner. we waited 30 minutes for drinks to be brought to table while waitress Avianna held the tray with our drinks on it the whole time she chatted with a table across the room. i was ready to go and take the drinks from the tray when the table noticed us and said something to her.
overpriced noisy no southern comfort fried food bland and gave me gas very disappointed and would not go back many other choices in area that are much better value seemed like very uppety crowd not at all to my liking. Pass.
The 3 course meal that we had met our expectations and we left wishing we were staying in the hotel. We stopped here during our drive from Mystic to Newport and well worth the detour.
Chair Five is beautiful and tucked away. The modern vibe is great, and the food is delicious and inventive. Try the clam chowder -- it's a delicious little cup that's thick and served with a clam on the shell. Also out of this world are any of their pasta and seafood entrees. Really fun and the wait staff is attentive and not overbearing. Love the fireplaces, the view of the hotel pool, all the modern touches.
The hotel/restaurant is beautiful and the food was good however a little over priced. We all were still hungry after we finished as the serving size was on the smaller side. Otherwise, very good!
So disappointing. The "roof deck" is really small and with not a great view (overlooks houses, then Point Judith) and the service is terrible. Both the waitresses on the roof and in the restaurant but friendly but clueless. We waited ages before getting anything - a drink, an app - despite the fact that there was only one other table in the restaurant. That in itself, the fact that the restaurant was completely dead on a Sunday night in the summer, was awkward. I was served gravlax in place of salmon sashimi. Nuf said.
