A huge disappointment. Food mediocre, server tried too hard, no real vibe because the room was nearly empty. Would not recommend.

We had reservations on a Saturday night. The Food was great and worth the value. The problem was service. The hostess was confused and flustered on the First floor. She was more concerned that the “Hostess Sign” was incorrect than assisting us when we arrived.
Our server was not well trained, not attentive. It was not busy at all. She had to replace our appetizer order as she placed the first one incorrectly. We had to keep asking for our drinks and water to be refilled, she never asked if we wanted coffee and tea with our desert and we had to ask for dessert menu. She only had one other table to service.

Main restaurant was closed without any clear notification on Open Table. Had to dine in bar/lounge. Too loud due to loud bar patrons. Spoke to Restaurant Manager who just shrugged. Food was great but would have enjoyed experience more if we could have dined in the restaurant. Great martini prepared by Jake-bartender

I made a reservation for 4 people outside 7:45. I called to change it to 5 people no problem. I called to see if we could be seated earlier the hostess said no they were full. My party arrived just after 7pm. We had a drink in the lounge bar upstairs. While our table sat outside empty... why??? Our table was ready but they would not seat us earlier...that’s disappointing. Lindsey our server was great. The food was very good. It just would have been nice to be seated earlier if our table was ready..

I had heard generally good things about Chair 5 but was pretty disappointed. The bartender had a long conversation with some women at the bar while our drink order languished for about 10 minutes (strike 1). Our order for 3 diners was mixed up so that the Caesar salad for the table arrived smothered with a Cod Filet at the same time as the other two entrees, whereas the Sea Bass entree did not arrive at all. We sent the salad back and then waited about 6-7 minutes for the sea bass entree that was reordered to appear, (diners now out of synch so strike 2). The sea bass was good, whereas the clams and pasta entree( X2) was not (pasta overcooked, clams rubbery) (strike 3). The topper was when our server bumped into a large wall decoration next the our table and dislodged it from the wall, but caught it just before it hit the floor. Overall service is not good and the food is variable. My take is that there are both management and staff experience issues that will prove difficult to improve.

Very accommodating (we changed our reservation a few hours before we arrived with no problems) and friendly service. Excellent food and pretty good drinks at the bar.

I'm only giving 4 stars because I prefer a la carte like was offered in 2018. It gives the chef more latitude for creativity. Although the food was excellent buffets all seem to offer about the same stuff and it's boring.

We've been there multiple times and it remains hit or miss. In fact, we were there the first week that it opened. The servers are usually great (like pleasant) except they often don't get things right. I can't help but feel since the day it opened that they continue to have managerial problems. The food is usually and often excellent. This time, the steak was ordered medium rare and it was way overcooked. Don't quite know what to say. I love the atmosphere and remain committed to the place, but there has to be better quality control. Both of the food and the frequent delays in serving. Could be such a gem.

We went to Chair 5 during Narragansett Restaurant Week. Although we had read 'mixed reviews' prior to our reservation, we decided to try it. We did not regret our decision. The food was excellent. The service was very good. Because they were very busy, I would say the staff was stretched a bit.

We would return.

Everything was great! Lainey Dionne provided great music but with upstairs being small, the volume could have been lower. It was nearly impossible to have a conversation. Her choice in songs was perfect and her performance was top notch.

Very disappointed in the quality of our food. Bartender was a rockstar and drinks were good, but we won't be back for a meal. Cold fries, burnt dessert, general apathy in food prep and quality...this is easy stuff at a lower end restaurant, nevermind a pricier place in Narragansett. Too many other good restaurants around to waste another dollar on food here. Get your stuff together in the kitchen - the products don't match the caliber of the hotel.

I’d recommend mostly because of its convenience while staying in the hotel. We only had appetizers and they were not wonderful. Expensive stormy rum drink was awful, supposed to have fresh lime juice but it was very bitter. White sangria was a bit better but I’ve had better. Live music was ok but too loud for the small space, don’t need speakers in a small room. Love The Break overall but this restaurant doesn’t seem to be consistent with the hospitality and quality of the rest of the hotel.

I went there with a friend, the service was slow. We asked for a flat bread pizza and received the wrong pizza because the server didn't know they had a different choice that night. Food was disappointing. The music was too loud for a small area and we could not hear each other.

Food in the main bistro was OK but the drinks and the service were excellent! Loved the bar on the 4th floor too, best drinks and service! The atmosphere was beautiful too!

In short: great views from the 4th floor, service was great, seats were very uncomfortable, food was just "ok". Live music normally would draw us back to the pub but we couldn't sit on those chairs any longer. Very nice location but food was lacking flavor, they seemed more concerned with the presentation.
We don't plan to return.

We have eaten here before and enjoyed wine dinners, wine tastings, dinner and lunch have been good (all downstairs). We decided to try the early bird special which was served upstairs. We were very disappointed. When we arrived at 5:10 there was only 1 other couple in the room. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and calamari to share while deciding what to order for dinner. The wine was delivered and we ordered 2 courses from the special menu, 2 salads and 2 NE seared Cod Loins. By about 5:45 about 6 more people had arrived. We hadn't gotten our calamari yet, so I asked about the calamari and was told she saw that our salads were up and the calamari should be there soon. Within 5 minutes a cold dish of calamari and 1 salad was delivered to us. Since the waitress hadn't been around that much, I walked back to the bar to try to correct the order. I was there a good 5 minutes and could see the waitress running back and forth in the back. The bartender never acknowledged my presence (just expected a"be with you shortly").
When the waitress came out I explained we had wanted the calamari to share (cold, please remove) and bring another salad as we had ordered. We did receive the 2nd salad with in a few minutes. Before we finished the salad the cod loin arrived. It was barely warm, obviously had sat somewhere for a while. It also was Blackened, but the menu stated it came with a Cilantro Lime Aioli. Since we had finished our wine do to the long wait we ordered a 2nd glass, and were told several times it was being poured before it arrived. We had the dessert, finished our wine and left. The waitress was trying really hard but there seems to be a logistics problem with getting food from the kitchen to the diner in a timely manner. It would appear to be a major "systems problem".

Went for Sunday Brunch and the food was lukewarm to cold, warming trays didn't have the steno lit. We were the only two patrons there but they didn't seem to be in the holiday spirit since it was 2 days before Christmas. Not a positive experience.

We visited Chair 5 in mid-October so it was not high season and as a result we enjoyed a quiet, almost private dining experience. The restaurant is located in a boutique hotel and everyone (including the chef) made certain that our experience was enjoyable and that we wanted for nothing. All of the dishes were creative, beautifully presented, and you could taste the care that went into creating each one. The high level of the cuisine and the relaxing atmosphere was a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of most of the area restaurants which cater to crowds of tourists and beach-goers.

My husband and I made reservations and wanted to try this place as we had a gift certificate we had received for our anniversary. First of all the manager said “we will no longer except these gift certificates” Apparently management changed… Very bad customer service to not accommodate us in anyway! The food was mediocre, service was fine and the ambience was just OK. Would not return… overpriced and Nothing special!

We love Chair 5 and our experience on Thursday evening didn’t change that feeling! From the fun, chic beach decor to the delicious local seafood options - this is a neighborhood gem we’re almost afraid will get too popular. Our server, Taylor, was able to offer lots of suggestions and was lovely and perfect in her attention to our table.
A Narragansett treasure, for sure!

We love the hotel and enjoy the ambience and decor of the restaurant, but thought the food left a bit to be desired. Portion sizes are small, and food is not extremely well seasoned. We have had great experience tho with the servers at dinner time.

Both the server and the manager were awesome. Food and drinks were good and even though it was busy we were sat in a more private area as to keep the noise levels around us down. Excellent time.

Avianna our server was top notch. Cozy and elegant yet inviting ambiance and such an accommodating server. Salmon might be the best I've had. A friend had Parpadalle (sp.?) ratatouille. She said it is one of the best dishes she's ever eaten. Very reasonable prices for the outstanding food and just the right portions.
A little slow from kitchen end - BUT - we attribute that minor detail to the chefs and cooks taking great care to be sure everything that came out was 5+ stars for the palate. And we were in no rush at all. We will be back when we come to RI next summer again. : )

Open table had this place booked so I was happy to find an 8 pm reservation show up. I originally had an 8:30. Actually we could have gone at any time because it turns out the place was empty. I would suggest you call for a reservation. Service was great! Rooftop bar is very nice.
