We were looking forward to our Gordon Ramsey experience. What a let down The food was average, some of the choices weren’t available, wine ridiculously expensive, whispering Angel £ 75.00 per bottle !! Mad , I live in Dublin. and wine isn’t that expensive here , Would not recommend, there are lots of other restaurants to choose from in Edinburgh. GR needs to look at his own brand before fixing other restaurants.

Honestly I wasn’t a big fan. Most of the starters were lacking salt and the main i had, the sea trout was too salty. Overall the foods quite mediocre.

Walked in off the street and was told they were fully booked until 10pm, despite the fact it was empty. Stepped outside and booked through open table. One minute later and we were in. Wish we handy bothered. Food was poor. Soup was watery and not much of it. Fish and chips were greasy and way too much salt! My friend had a burger and only ate half of it. The table next to us was the same. I eat out in Edinburgh a lot, but sadly this is poor over priced food. Miles off the competition in the area.

Quite disappointing overall. My Lamb Rogan Josh was not nice although my wife enjoyed the cod. The ambience of the place is lacking and thus not good value for money. Not up to the standard expected at a Gordon Ramsey establishment.

Where do we start? From the off, the service was some of the worst we have experienced, cafes do better service. The bottle of wine we ordered was corked, and took a few requests to get a new bottle? The food portions and prices are so far apart it’s laughable. The food was mediocre at best. I love a prawn cocktail but have never tasted one like this in my life, not recommended. Burger with a few chips, pork belly that was undercooked, plus paying for extras when they should be accompaniments at these prices is not on. Service was slow, with opposing tables not having their plates cleared for an enormous amount of time. Staff appeared disinterested, zero knowledge about the food or wine being served, and very little engagement or rapport as you should do with customers. Because of this, we will not return, it was an awful experience. 12.5% service charges should not be automatic, it should still be up to the customer regarding tipping. If we had not been with friends, we would not have paid. Way overpriced food, shocking service and poor atmosphere. Don’t waste your money.

We had booked previous to our visit, but were disappointed that when the waitress came to take our order there was 5-6 items off the menu, some of which we had chosen for lunch. If we had known this before our booking we would have gone elsewhere. Our last visit was really good but this one was disappointing unfortunately.

Last minute birthday booking for group of us ladies. The food was good and the staff were pleasant lots of mistakes on the night these small errors can leave a lasting effect. simple things I asked for jacket to be hanged told someone will be along no one came. Took 3 asks to get straws for drinks. Some food returned as cold some sides came after food was given almost finished.

Several items on the menu were not available and it took over 30 minutes to get our initial drinks, which were delivered with our starters. However, steaks were cooked to perfection and staff were very apologetic.

Food is fairly ordinary, not worth the 45 mins wait. The Beef Wellington was over rated, over priced and disappointed. Beef is ok but not much flavour. The pastry was tasteless, worse than the pastry in the pie that you can get in any grocery store

Decor lovely. Food excellent but overpriced. Service spotty- I don’t like to be rushed through a meal but we always seemed to be waiting. However everyone very nice. You should note the billing practice- an “optional 12.5% gratuity” is on the bill but we were never given the option to accept or change that. I like to tip generously, but without asking about the detailed bill I could have inadvertently tipp d twice. We were never shown the itemized bill. Overall very interesting but overpriced

We had the burger and it was awful! It was over cooked and like rubber. We could not eat it at all. Gordon Ramsey would have thrown it in the trash had he been there. We were so disappointed! We were looking forward to eating at his restaurant in Edinburgh. They were out of fish and chips at 6:00! I would have ordered that if they weren’t out.

Outstanding food and great service level. Something that gave me a great feeling about the cleaning standards, is that some rude people sat and minutes later left without almost touching anything, but the staff from the restaurant cleaned the whole table and changed plates, vases, dinnerware, and absolutely everything, and started from zero to let the table ready for the next customers. If you add that our waiter was impecable and amazingly kind, and the food was delicious, I would, in conclusion, recommend this place very very much.

Cannot recommend at all, at least for breakfast. Quality doesn’t match the high prices. We had 2 courses breakfast menu: avocado toast was ok, but nothing special, while desert (peach cobbler waffle) was not good - cold and dense waffle with overly sweet pecans, covered by tasty peach compote (probably coming from a tin) and berries. Others at our table had burger as main (again ok, but nothing special) and chocolate fondant for dessert which was very good, but nobody told us upfront it will take 30 min after we finished our mains. And at 11.30 am we’ve been told their fish&chips is already sold off, and only after our laugh at this comment, it turned out they missed their fish delivery this morning. Nobody had asked our opinion on the food while I was paying the bill or at any time we were at the restaurant, so we didn’t have a chance to share the feedback. But if I were Gordon Ramsey, I wouldn’t want my name on this place. In all fairness, all the comments are related to breakfast menu, the dinner might be different

Lovely restaurant, staff and food. Very dissapointed to he told on a Saturday night at 7.30 pm that there were no more fish and chips on the menu, had been recommended and pretty poor for Gordon Ramsays. I'm sure he'd be thrilled knowing this.

An amazing evening from start to finish, staff were great from the moment we arrived till we left and the food tasted great with good portion sizes. Midweek early set menu offer. Excellent value at £19.50 for 2 courses, although somewhat uninspiring choices of burger, fish and chips or poke bowl. Fish was large portion and beautifully cooked. Burger was cooked medium rare and would not be to everyone's taste. Our biggest issue was the price of wine. Vastly over priced for uninspiring selection. £37 for a bottle of pinot grigio. Service was excellent but sadly the wine price would deter a return visit

My expectations were high in that I felt a Gordon Ramsey establishment would be a well oiled machine with strong management. First off, the restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived; 6:00 pm dinner reservations, and the there were several tables including one next to ours that were empty but not yet cleared of dishes and napkins from the previous diners. They weren’t cleared and reset for another diner for at least 20 minutes after we sat down. The service was slow; had to ask for water refills after a considerable wait. We ordered a salad and a main to share and they brought both out at the same time and didn’t offer a separate plate. When we asked for one, they came back with a small plate the size of a cup saucer. Another worker, I think a drink taker, saw that situation and intervened before we had to ask for a larger plate, which she promptly brought, so kudos the that The food was well prepared and presented and tasted good. Overall, in and out in an hour, which isn’t bad. Wine prices tended high but they did have a good selection. Room for improvement but not bad.

They were kind enough to seat our group of 10 in a private dining room, which was lovely! Drinks and dinner were absolutely delicious, the highlight of our dining experiences in Scotland! LOVE that kids are welcome and complimentary from the children’s menu.

Arrived on time for our table of 5. Ordered our food 15 mins later. 10 mins later our Cutlery arrived and them low and behold another 1hr and 10 mins until our food arrived! The food was amazing but not worth waiting 70 minuites for it to arrive. Very disapointed indeed.
