Bread & Tulips offers five different spaces for private dining events and cocktail receptions: our Wine Alcove, semi-private Back Room, Parkside Lounge, Penthouse Suite, and outdoor Rooftop Terrace in the warmer months. We also welcome you to rent out the entire restaurant for larger events.
View Private Dining DetailsFood was good as always. Waitress was a bit rushy and little pushy. Keep trying to take our plates away mid-bite and asked us if we want another glass of wine when the glasses we had were clearly more than half full. This happened a few times. Was annoying.
Delicious! I have passed this place a million times and finally got to try it. From the bread they bring out while you wait, to the salads, to the pizzas and the delicious paninis- everything was so fresh and delicious. Must try! The staff is also very attentive and nice!
The birthday girl picked this restaurant based on the menu and because it was in the middle for most of us. The staff was very accommodating when we had to change the number of people from 8 to 5, and also when we called to stay that we were running late. The cocktails were strong enough, the appetizers were delicious and easily shared, and some of the entrees were better than others. What we were very impressed with was the service! Since I left a reservation comment that we were celebrating a birthday, the staff left little notes that said "Happy Birthday" on our table and behind us. How cute! We also liked the little dining nook we were in, it was semi-private so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. While we weren't blown away by the food, we would recommend this place if you are in the area especially if you're with a group to celebrate a birthday.
The place is very nice, very cozy. The food was very good too. Both pasta and pizza were very well prepared and tasty. Service was exceptional. We've been taken care of perfectly throughout the night, timing the interventions precisely. After the dinner I was quite happy I had found this place, and I would definitely go back and recommend.
We added a comment to the reservation that we were celebrating 2 (14th) birthdays and I even reminded the hostess and they ignored our request. We waited to see if the waitress was going to wish them happy birthday or something and she just brought the check.
Lovely restaurant!! It's a nice cozy place. Food was delicious, so were the cocktails! Service was great too. I picked this last minute and we found a table. My friend and I both enjoyed the experience. Will def come back!
Fantastic restaurant with a cosy ambience & delicious pasta dishes included in their menu of Italian cuisine. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. Would certainly recommend to friends
Pasta was horrible... worst past ive ever had in my life.
Came here for Valentine's day. They had a fantastic set menu with great options. The main entree was perfect and we were very pleased.
Had a wonderful date night here for Restaurant Week! My date and I shared everything, because it was all terrific. Make sure you try the burrata!
:) Couldn't ask for a better business lunch spot, attentive but not overbearing staff, great food, menu choices for everyone.
Loved this place. Good food and service. Would totally go back.
Great atmosphere and service! Drinks were delish!!
I've been to Bread & Tulips a couple of times now, and it's great. The ambiance is lovely and they're able to handle larger groups, but it's not too loud or overwhelming--it's a good place for a date, too. They were happy to accommodate my request to have the pasta carbonara without meat, and it--and everything else we ordered--was delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The desserts were delicious, as well. Highly recommend.
Wonderful Restaurant Week menu. Excellent meatballs and breast of duck
Saturday night went at 9 o'clock and the place was empty. Waitress definitely seemed like she wanted us to get out of there. Good food but was very surprised how it was so empty.
Nice Italian restaurant on Park Ave. South. Have walked by it many times coming from church on Sundays when it is closed so was curious to try a Saturday night meal. Nice atmosphere and our waitress was very friendly. The food however, was very slow to come out. We didn't order anything particularly unique so it just seemed like a kitchen problem. Everything was good, however, except for a side dish which was ice cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. I suspect it had sat there for a while as our main dishes were being finished. What we ordered: my husband and his friend shared the octopus appetizer (not my thing) which my husband said was perfectly cooked. Also the fried artichokes were good. I had a chicken dish, my husband had the seafood pasta and our friend had salmon. All were good except for the cold side dish of broccoli rabe. Nice trendy (a little noisy) atmosphere and at no time did we feel rushed. Would go back!
Food was good. Ambiance was good. The only thing that needs MAJOR IMPROVEMENT is the service. Our waitress that night was completely disengaged. Other than that, our party of 8 had a great time celebrating our friend's birthday. Would come again if we had a different server.
Our appetizers were delicious. Everyone else loved their meal. I didn't love my chicken - it reminded me of something you would get at a wedding when they're mass producing generic meals. The desserts were delicious. The setting was perfect for a group of four to be able to hear eachother talk.
The whole experience was great! Went above and beyond with a special request... the food was amazing... great place for dinner or just a drink and a snack at the bar Can’t wait to go back. And, just might tomorrow!
First time at this restaurant and fell in love. All our items were amazing (minus the tiramisu which we weren’t a fan of but the waitress kindly took off our bill and replaced with the chocolate mousse which was delicious). The service was impeccable. Our waitress was really sweet and helpful in recommending items to us. Decor was great. Definitely will return.
Very beautiful space, carefully decorated and inviting. Service is warm and attentive.
Food is good.
Food was good but service was very off.
This upbeat neighborhood gem in the basement of the boutique Hotel Giraffe never disappoints. The ingredients used for the Northern Italian cuisine are always fresh. The menu which includes homemade pastas and pizza is broad enough to satisfy anyone’s taste. Everyone there makes us feel welcome. They even remembered our favorite table and saved it for us on a busy weekend night. I wish it were that easy to enjoy oneself at all restaurants in NY.
Excellent creative food, attentive service, good value. Fresh pasta, yummy pizza, excellent chicken, delicious marinated olives, tasty octopus, affordable wine list and the bread is unbeatable. Can’t wait to return.
This is one of our favorite mid-town places. It's a wonderful inconspicuous restaurant and bar. Be forewarned - the bar area can be noisy and creep over to the dining side. But other than that, the food is superior, the service impeccable, and the ambiance inviting.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I found the quality of the food to be excellent. I will coming back
Great food and friendly service
Food was just ok... nothing special ....took a long time for food to come... very very noisy... couldn't hear people at the same table
The restaurant was very nice & spacious. We all had pasta dishes, & everyone was quite pleased with their entree. The service was excellent. Had a variety of entrees on the menu. Very reasonably priced. Would like to visit again.
We loved everything but the amount of salt. I really like the place but I'm not sure if I'm coming back, both times I went the same problem.
Pleasant quiet setting, good food, good service. What more can you ask for!
Very good value for money. Good food at a reasonable price. A bottle of wine a great buy. Look forward to return sooner than later.
Service, homemade pasta and bread were excellent. Appetizer was fair. Did not like the recommended drink. Nice atmosphere but overall the food was only fair.
Haven't gotten back to the area for 5 years and it is still great. Highly recommended.
Our server for the evening was Alexis. Very attentive but not hovering. We started our meal with perfectly made Negronis. The bread, oil and salt were brought to our table. Crisp exterior, tender interior. If you're gluten free you will be very sad you're not eating the bread. We split the fresh ricotta appetizer with more excellent bread. Light, milky, creamy and more than enough for two. (We'll try the other apps on other nights). I ordered the homemade pappardelle with lamb ragout. Silky herbed pasta, spicy rich sauce. My husband had the Long Island Duck. Perfectly cooked, with crisp seasoned skin. The braised balsamic cabbage a perfect foil to the richness of the duck. For dessert my husband had the chocolate mousse & hazelnut gelato. Rich and decadent. I had the Tartufo al Limoncello. Creamy and refreshing. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal that was delicious and really reasonably priced. Most bottles under $40. The couple at the table next to us had a pizza- it looked/smelled wonderful. We're going back, soon.
Arrived early and had wonderful wine and it was 1/2 off for happy hour. With their own special brick pizza oven and inventive flavors made this an excellent repast.
My wife and I enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. Our waiter Arnold was very friendly & our food was very tasty.
This restaurant hits all the marks! Great food wonderful management.
We are a group of 4 that used to work together but retirements and diffeeent job sites have separated us. What a treat to have had dinner on an Aug Wed night. The Restaurant Week menu was solid and they readily substituted pasta with garlic and olive oil as a vegetarian option for one of our group. We were able to find a reasonably priced bottle of wine.
We were able to chat and were not hurried and when we asked for more bread it we were readily accommodated. We had a great time.
