Bread & Tulips Ratings and Reviews
Our server for the evening was Alexis. Very attentive but not hovering. We started our meal with perfectly made Negronis. The bread, oil and salt were brought to our table. Crisp exterior, tender interior. If you're gluten free you will be very sad you're not eating the bread. We split the fresh ricotta appetizer with more excellent bread. Light, milky, creamy and more than enough for two. (We'll try the other apps on other nights). I ordered the homemade pappardelle with lamb ragout. Silky herbed pasta, spicy rich sauce. My husband had the Long Island Duck. Perfectly cooked, with crisp seasoned skin. The braised balsamic cabbage a perfect foil to the richness of the duck. For dessert my husband had the chocolate mousse & hazelnut gelato. Rich and decadent. I had the Tartufo al Limoncello. Creamy and refreshing. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal that was delicious and really reasonably priced. Most bottles under $40. The couple at the table next to us had a pizza- it looked/smelled wonderful. We're going back, soon.
We are a group of 4 that used to work together but retirements and diffeeent job sites have separated us. What a treat to have had dinner on an Aug Wed night. The Restaurant Week menu was solid and they readily substituted pasta with garlic and olive oil as a vegetarian option for one of our group. We were able to find a reasonably priced bottle of wine.
We were able to chat and were not hurried and when we asked for more bread it we were readily accommodated. We had a great time.
Elegant restaurant with regal food and rustic decor. Though I went with a friend, it would be better suited for couples (the candles and lighting and seating arrangements I why I say this). Food is pretty good, with a variety of delicious options listed on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant!
Really great food, but I found the menu a little limited. I also had wanted to spend time talking to my friend and the server kept coming over so often we didn't really get a chance to talk. However, what we ordered was excellent and reasonably priced for Manhattan. Enjoyable experience. Good food.
Second time here and did not disappoint, consistency is of value. Arugula salad was unique and very good. The fettuccine with mushrooms was light and lots of flavor. The salmon was perfectly cooked, medium rare as requested. Wines by the glass list could be improved. Anne was very good and attentive.
Came in for the roasted chicken and it did not disappoint. In addition I also had squid ink pasta and my niece had the fettuccine - both were good. We shared a tart for dessert. Daria, our server was knowledgeable and outstanding. Will definitely come back.
