A buffet for OPAS. Heavy on meats only one hot vegetable. Lovely salad bar. Many items mislabeled. Limited desserts. The big plus is that there is someplace on campus to eat before the performance. Down side is that this restaurant shifts hours so much it is difficult to know if they are open and what the menu is. Hope they continue so that we can eat and go straight to performance. $26 for the buffet incl beverage.
More selections and an omelet bar would have been nice. Pricey for what I got. $18
They called and left vm stating chef had decided to close kitchen so were cancelling our 11:30 am reservation. Unfortunately, that was 2 hours before we were supposed to show up and celebrate my mothers 84th birthday. Very unprofessional. When I called to discuss at 9:45 am, they could not get restaurant to take call. I asked for manager to please call to discuss, they never called me back.
Now, only open on weekends for breakfast, the buffet is a welcomed addition. Not as extensive as the brunch menu, it was good. They need to refresh the buffet more often as many items were either out or close to out. Chef's choice eggs were scrambled with cheese...very fluffy! Blueberry french toast casserole good too! Cost overall a bargain.
Like other reviewers said- food was overly salty. The biscuits were good. Wait staff need serious training. Did not know the menu, what was included with entree, etc. Got bill wrong. Blame management, not waiter.
Actually, it was closed even though we had reservations, but they sent us upstairs and treated us royally!
We went for Father's Day 2019 after going on Mother's Day. Less crowded which is a good thing. Fewer menu choices but better dessert selection and more entrees that I really liked! Boiled shrimp always great! Omelet bar exceptional. Husband really liked the bacon! Apple cobbler could use some ice cream and the bread pudding needs a butter rum sauce. But overall, very happy to hear they now pay parking and will serve a brunch on Sunday every week. Superb!!!!!
The sign at the entrance said open at 11:30 but didn’t actually open until noon due to special Father’s Day brunch. Had a reservation but staff that seated us didn’t complete reservation confirmation once we arrived so we got an email from Open Table saying we didn’t show up. Staff seemed nervous and following a script when talking to customers. Initially no one at omelet station. Ordered a bacon and cheese omelet, received ham and cheese. Apple cobbler had been cooked into submission and was more like applesauce. Shrimp was really good, however. Fruit was fresh. Nice buffet selection but way overpriced.
Father’s Day Brunch was outstanding! Always a great brunch - best of best is only enhanced by valet parking and Aggie atmosphere! We love everything about all the choices, the freshness and the plain deliciousness!!! We go at least once a month!
The restaurant is listed as "fine dining". A mediocre buffet is not fine dining.
Taco buffet for $25, food taste horrible
Went for Mother's Day brunch. Great variety and service!
Buffet was fair at best. Very few choices and quality was fair. Service was very minimal. This restaurant isn’t on par with this hotel. Best to go to another option or have dinner up in the bar area. Not a good choice. We won’t be back.
Amazing atmosphere and eager service but the food needs major improvement. Manager said they were working on the menu so hopefully will improve so it can be an addition to Aggieland.
Expected a more fine-dining experience for my graduation lunch, however, the food served consisted of hamburgers and baked beans. The service was good, just disappointed in the food options.
It was a buffet and we were expecting the menu that showed on Open Table. We waited 15 minutes before I had to go and ask about our waiter. Food on the buffet was just ok. I would have never booked had I known about the buffet.
While the food was good, I had a reservation and was moved to to bar floor for some reason. That was fine, but there was no table reserved for us once we got there. Furthermore, the staff did not pay attention to us except to give us our food. In the end we were tired of waiting for the check so I walked over and asked them for it. I am a student here on campus and I feel like we were not treated the same as the other members. Disappointed in our first and only time to go.
Even though I made a reservation over a week before the dinner, I got a call the day of the reservation saying that they don't have enough servers and our only option was to be booted to the bar area. So instead of the nice upscale restaurant that I reserved to celebrate our anniversary, we were seated in a sports bar. Service was terrible, they forgot about our appetizer and when they finally served the entrees after almost an hour, they informed us that the biscuits are still not ready. By the time we finished eating, there was still no sign of the biscuits so I told them not to bother. Needless to say no effort was made in any way to make up for it or comp the part of our meal that we didn't receive. The food was delicious, but for the price and location of the restaurant we expected better service. Much better.
This was our 7th trip to this restaurant. We keep hoping the service will improve, but it gets worse with every visit. The food is excellent.
We asked to be moved from behind a wall but were told there were no available tables. We counted 6 empty tables for the duration of our visit. We had to get up and request a server after sitting close to 15 minutes with no server. The server took our silverware between courses and never brought replacements.
Training appears to be lacking at this restaurant. Also the staff obviously is told to wear whatever they want...ironing is optional. For an establishment of this caliber, the waitstaff is simply sloppy.
Awesome as always!!!
Had dinner with my son. It was not a busy night for them so we were able to linger and have a great conversation. I had the Sea Bass and he had the pork chop. Both were delicious. I like that the portions are not huge, it was just the perfect size. Service was great. 5 stars from me.
It’s a nice place. The service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. The food can be better. Shrimp and grits was very salty. The 72 hour Texas Wagyu Brisket was underwhelming. We’ll be back when we’re in town again and hope it was just an off night. The friendly service was appreciated!
Overall glad we came.
Made reservations here for a ring day celebration lunch. I was so excited because of the location at Texas A&M's new on-campus hotel. We were seated right on time for our reservation which was good, but once seated it went downhill. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but was not very full which led to an awkward quietness. It took over an hour to get the dip trio appetizer out, which only had 2/3 dips on it and we were never told why. The lunch menu selection was pretty small but okay. A couple of family members ordered the steak salad and it came out with no steak when they asked about it the people who ordered were informed that the salad did not include steak?? They did end up bringing out a side of the steak, but I am not sure if we were charged extra for it. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and they were terrible and I am not sure how you mess up a quesadilla. The cobb salad looked really good and the sweet potato fries would have been delicious if they weren't served cold. They also had gluten free options. Our waitress was nice but she never apologized for how long we waited for food or the mistakes made. Some MAJOR improvements need to be made to menu and service in general.
Food was very good. Service was kind of slow and some items were left off of food orders. With improved service this could be a great place.
Our waitress was inexperienced and could not answer questions in regards to the menu. It was as if she had stepped off the street and literally had no knowledge of the food besides what she liked to eat herself. She verbally announced how out of it and tired she was - very unprofessional, poorly dressed and did not refill drinks or check on our food until we were done eating. All that said, we could have looked past the waitress had the food been up to par. We expected much better at a place with such pomp and circumstance. The biscuits were rock hard, buffalo steaks were paper thin, chewy and tasted rancid. The sea bass was ordinary. Unfortunately, this was not the end of the ordeal. Three people in our party of five were nauseated and sick for most of the night. Note: only water was consumed by all, no alcohol. The convenience during ring day activities is the ONLY positive quality we experienced at this establishment.
Parents weekend and ring day
Beautiful presentation of all food! Very accommodating to a gluten free request! Everyone enjoyed trying appetizers and our entrees were quite tasty.
The menu was extremely limited. Our server was exceptional, but, the good was not good at all. I would not recommend eating here.
Great Ring Day dinner. Everything tasted great. Will need to return multiple times to taste everything on the menu. Staff was excellent, too.
The restaurant itself was nice, however, the food was not that great. The appetizer and salads were good, but we all ordered a steak for our entree. The filet had absolutely no taste, except for the char marks. It was also overlooked and dry. The ribeye also had no taste. Luckily, it had a sauce to add to give it some flavor. I don’t know if they just have poor cuts of meats or don’t know how to season, but for almost $50/entree we had expected far better.
The food was salty. The shrimp & grits - shrimp was cold...and the grits were salty. The salmon was salty. The black been mash had zero flavor. Our group of 4 had to stop other servers for water, wine, spoons, etc. Over-promised & under-delivered.
Waited 5 minutes for server to approach after being seated.
Did not take drink order until came back with water bottle.
Never got my Jameson.
Tortilla soup was much spicier than presented.
Overall food quality was just okay which calls into question the value of paying so much for a very average meal.
We had a really nice evening. Great place for fellowship and wonderful location.
We went to celebrate family birthdays and everything was wonderful. Great good, great service, great environment. Highly recommend!
It was my birthday and they helped make it extra special for me.
It was all okay, but not special. They were out of several of the wines and a popular main dish that several of us wanted to order. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but neither she nor the menu could tell me which items came with some interesting vegetables. My pork chop was very overcooked, but its sauce was nicely flavorful. Our group agreed that we were happy to have tried it, but that we didn't need to go back anytime soon.
This restaurant is really finding its groove! Enjoyed great steaks and amazing honey fried chicken with some superb wines and service. Fully expect Brazos to be a must-go-to spot in the very near future.
Food exceeded expectations and service was outstanding!
Our waiter, Said, was outstanding!!!!!
