BRAVO Cucina Italiana - Pittsburgh - McKnight
The McKnight road BRAVO! location is in the heart of the North Hills district. It is just 1 mile down the road from Ross Park Mall, one of the largest malls in the city. It is 6 miles away from North Park, a 3,075 acre county park. We are across the street from St. Sebastian's, the largest Catholic church in the area. We are also located only 7 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, where you can find theaters such as Heinz Hall and he Benedum Center in Pittsburgh's Cultural District, and also find the homes of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, Heinz Field and PNC Park, respectively.
The waitress seems very inexperienced. She didn’t know the menu, didn’t know how good was prepared, didn’t know what could be added or substituted and was very unsure of what was being offered. She was not very busy but was very inattentive to empty drinks and the need for silverware and napkins. I was very disappointed with this visit.
Good food, good service, good value. It’s a winner every time. We are never disappointed when we leave. We are repeat customers.
Arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation as one should but didn’t get seated until nearly 45 minutes past our reservation. The manager was kind enough to comp us 2 appetizers due to the delay which thankfully arrived at our table promptly after being seated. Unfortunately the same could not be said of our food which took about 40 minutes to come out after ordering. I’m total we got our main courses about 2 hours after our reservation time. The food was good but most of our party boxed well over half of their meal because the meal was so late in arriving that we were no longer hungry.
I’m so thankful that my autistic nephew had to cancel out or we’d have had a melt down.
We have always loved Bravos for a very good meal at a reasonable price. We returned after a few years of being away and were somewhat disappointed. The menu had changed which is fine but fewer Italian pasta dished...which is what we liked best. Food and service was good but not very good. We always give our favorite restaurants a second chance before we remove them from our favorites list and we will do that for Bravos.
Visited on Mother’s Day. Food was good. Seated in a side room where temperature was uncomfortably cold. Multiple failed attempts by server to moderate temperature so we were uncomfortable for the whole 90 minutes that we were there. Manager never stopped by. Ask for a table in the main dining room where temperature was appropriate.
It was impressive to see how smoothly the restaurant staff handled a Mother's Day surge for the afternoon lunch shift. Truly well coordinated and managed.
We always have good service here, but not this night. Most of the problem was the waitresss. She was nice, but didn’t have a clue what she was doing. The kitchen was a little behind so we waited 45 min from the time we sat down until the food came. I had eggplant park and the pasta that came with it was cold. My family was there for an hour and a half. When the waitress finally brought the bill it was blank with a total written on it. Thank goodness for the excellent management there that always takes care of their customers. We were comped desserts - which the waitress charged us for!
We had reservations for 7:30, but didn't get seated until after 8. The food did not seemed rushed, so it was good.
Food was outstanding as always and our server was the best I've had in a while. There was only one glitch to the evening, desserts were ordered, and delicious, but took 25 minutes to arrive at table. Restaurant took appropriate action and all were happy with the entire evening.
The food was delicious, although my portion of spaghetti was a bit sparse. My husband got the linguini Alfredo with chicken and was a nice portion and very tasty. I booked ahead on open table and we were seated immediately. Everyone was very nice.
Good service made for a quick lunch. Food was good as expected.
Food was awesome and service was quick! This is the best Bravos in Pgh!
The food was tasty, but the portions are on the smaller side. The wait time is long, but the service was very good, so that helped. Thank you.
We had an extraordinary server, her name is Suzanne. She was quick to offer suggestions. She made sure we were happy with each part of our meal. It was an extra busy Saturday night, but she never let us wait too long without checking in. She even brewed us a fresh pot of decaf coffee to go with our desserts! Great date night!
Two of us had the salmon and the other one had the steak...everything just melted in your mouth! Two of the kids had spaghetti and meatballs and one had the pepperoni pizza. They ate everything which was great!
We will definitely be going back.
Decided to have lunch and we both enjoyed the shrimp scampi combo. All executed well; food and service, in their typical efficient style. Pardon the pun: Bravo!
It’s a really nice good chain Italian restaurant. We are always treated very nicely and really appreciate it.
The service was just okay. The meal portion was small and does not include soup or salad. There are better food and values nearby for a better price.
We've always enjoyed such good meals at Bravo however this past experience was an exception I hope. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and it showed in the VERY slow service. The food ,while the flavors were wonderful, the portions and price were a disappointment. My meal consisted of 5 shrimp ,1/2 cup of farro and 3 spears of asparagus . All for $17.99-and not even a salad! Bar bites are a much better value-guess we'll stick to those-even though they keep eliminating the best ones....
Had a college graduation dinner with family group of 11. We wanted a moderately priced restaurant close to the city and could not be happier with Bravo! The staff was great as was the food! We will definitely be back.
Always enjoy the food and the atmosphere! While the waitresses are very friendly, I’ve never been a fan of them “sharing” duties 😞 one waitress starts the order while one or two others show up and no one knows what’s going on! The wait for the check is forever!
Have been a customer since Bravo opened and have never had a bad meal or experience
Good food, good service at a reasonable price.
Food choices have really declined over the past few months. Service was good, but VERY slow on a night with very few guests.
Yesterday we celebrated Easter at Bravos with family. There were 12 of us. There was little wait time, we got into the back room where the noise level was much less, and the waitstaff was very efficient and accommodating. Our waitress, Katie, was spectacular in every way. Kudos to her!
We went to Bravo to celebrate Easter. We had excellent service, a great meal, and an overall positive experience.
We always have an extended family lunch on Sundays. We are never sure how many are coming until the last minute. Several teenagers, it all depends on who wakes up. Much of the year we choose Bravo and sit at the high tops in the bar area. The service is always friendly, expedient and efficient.
They have changed the menu recently, so there are less choices. But the service staff can get you other items if you discuss it with them. Several of our party have allergies and Bravo is very good about assistance with this problem.
I participate in the Bravo rewards program and receive many special offers throughout the year.
Food was disappointing!
Kat, pour server, was great as always!
In love with the new chef’s menu and preparation! What a change! What a pleasant surprise! This is becoming our favorite place. The calamari is NOT over cooked rings of rubber. Instead it is thick pieces expertly cooked to melt in your mouth! Everything we eat here is great! Our favorites are the Cacio e pepe, the spaghetti bolognese, the eggplant and veal parmigiana. And the service is always on point!
Great food atmosphere & service---always at Bravo
Good food and service for a productive business lunch.
The Lasagna my wife had was not hot, and was on the cool side. My Chicken scallopini was extremely dry and very little sauce. And the chicken pieces were very thin as well.
the waiters got orders wrong, werent very attentive
Great food and service. One of our favorite spots for outstanding menu selection.
My son’s 23rd Birthday and his girlfriend of 5 years that lives about 4 miles from Bravo had never been there?!?!?
Unfortunately, we experienced the worst service we have ever had at the restaurant on this occasion. While our waiter quickly came to take our order for drinks, service for the rest of the meal was well below what we have ever previously experienced at the location. The drink order was incorrect and it took a very long time for him to return to correct the mistake and take our meal order. He did not check back in at the table until late into the meal despite having never offered many of the typical parts of the meal such as fresh ground pepper for salads, bread or freshly grated cheese for entrees. All food items were delivered by staff other than the waiter without any offer.
Went for lunch with an old colleague. We enjoyed the service and the setting. Food was excellent!
One of us had the salmon, another the lobster ravioli and the third the spaghetti bolognese. Then we shared the tiramisu...delicious!!!
We will be returning soon.
Had a 7:45 reservation wasn’t seated until 8:00, I’m not sure if it was just a busy night, but the whole point of the reservation is to be seated at the time you put it in for. We even arrived and checked in earlier then our reservation and were fine they couldn’t seat us but at least expected to get seated at the time we reserved . Hostess wasn’t very, helpful or friendly about it either. Our waiter was very fast and friendly though !
