BRAVO Cucina Italiana - Pittsburgh - McKnight
The McKnight road BRAVO! location is in the heart of the North Hills district. It is just 1 mile down the road from Ross Park Mall, one of the largest malls in the city. It is 6 miles away from North Park, a 3,075 acre county park. We are across the street from St. Sebastian's, the largest Catholic church in the area. We are also located only 7 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, where you can find theaters such as Heinz Hall and he Benedum Center in Pittsburgh's Cultural District, and also find the homes of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, Heinz Field and PNC Park, respectively.
The service was great - was a little dissatisfied with the food. Salmon was hot but other items on plate were not. Thus is our go to place once a month- it’s the only bad experience in many years. Maybe new kitchen staff. Will still go back.
Food was carefully but quickly prepared and served. Service was excellent - glasses were never empty and all requests were met promptly.
Despite having reservations and being asked to confirm reservation... we still had to wait 45 min after reservation time
We love Bravo, the food was very good and wait staff was very attentive. Had reservations for 6pm wasn't seated until 6:20, but then it was Valentine's weekend.
Menu has changed somewhat. Food was ok..not bad..but not exceptional. Very noisey place and not real crowded. Despite all enjoyed a nice lunch with good friends.
V day dinner
Bravo is always a nice time and the food is excellent. Only issue I had was they said I didn't show for my reservation but I did.
Zero Complaints. Food was great and server was prompt. Would definitely eat here again and will recommend it to everyone. A+ p.S The seasonal dessert was a hit!
Overall, the food was very good, once they got it right. We ordered an appetizer and it didn’t come until halfway through our meal. One of us ordered salmon on our pasta and it was raw when they brought it out. They took it back to cook it more and when they brought it back out it was still raw. Took them 3 attempts to cook it fully. Other than that, the food was very good and the service was great. I understand that it was Valentines Day so it may have been hectic, but it shouldn’t take 3 attempts to cook something. Luckily they removed this from our bill.
This is my go to restaurant for Valentines day. Usually very good food, service and never had trouble with reservations. Unfortunately Last night everything we ordered had way too much salt and seasoning, to the point of being non-edible. We mentioned the issue to the hostess that goes around to all the tables, asking if everything is ok. She went to the food counter and asked for a side of mashed potatoes, we could hear this from our table. Don't know what transpired after that. For the remainder of the evening she seemed to intentionally ignore us. She wouldn't even look at us as she walked by several times. Very awkward. Made us feel as if we did something wrong mentioning the the killer salt issue. I'm not exaggerating it was bad.
We had reservation for 6:00 but were not seated until 6:23.then we had to wait until 7:03 to be served our dinner. Our waiter was very nice and I don’t think it was his fault regarding the slowness. We all really like this restaurant and will be going back.
Top notch service and food
Always an excellent filet and the best tiramisu around. Bravo is always noisy because of the design so not a romantic dinner spot but still one of our go to places
Mid-day Sunday dinner was very appetizing and excellent taste. Ample portions with some to one of us to take home left overs.
This was a busy night and service was a bit slow, as evidenced by 20 minutes to place an order and a 40 minute wait for dinner. Food was average. Wish I could give a more positive review.
Wonderful casual eatery, but too cold for outside in January!
I have always been a big fan of Bravo and have never had a bad experience.
We had a party of 7 and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Service was excellent as always.
They accommodated us with a semi private area for our Christmas party. Our server, Mary was wonderful and very helpful.
I would recommend this restaurant to a friend based on many past visits. However, this past Saturday was nothing but torture. We were there for 2 hours for 2 people who ordered an entree and drink each. The place was busy but the service was extremely SLOW. We couldn’t even get a glass of water for over a half hour because they ran out of glasses. This is not a new restaurant, I don’t understand how they could run out of glasses. It took over a half hour to pay our bill. I hope the management is evaluating what went wrong this night.
The food isn’t the same. It is my understanding an investment firm purchased Bravos and changed the food. My last experience was poor as well. After a second bad experience I decided to google bravos where I discovered the change in ownership. Very disappointing. The only bright spot was the service.
Our reservation was at 8pm and had to wait 1 hr to be seated. Once seated, the service was very slow. Our appetizers and food were all cold.
Food and service is always great, however the experience would have been better had they didn't make us wait 15 minutes even though we had a reservation.
When I gave my reservation name about 15 minutes before our reservation time, the group of hosts quickly realized they mistakenly sat another group under my reservation. They were still able to seat us on time, but the situation could have been handled much better. Plus, the service was lacking once we were seated.
Overall, our meal at bravo was great! Our waiter was very polite and helpful with my grandfather with helping him decide on what to order. I do have to say that the restaurant was louder than most and the hostesses had a bit of an attitude when we walked in but other than that my family enjoyed bravo.
A little disappointed in the menu. My friend and I always used to get the same dish when we came.....breaded Chicken breast with pomodoro and garlic and herb pasta. This is no longer on the menu, although we did find pizzas that were pretty good.
Family holiday celebration! Wonderful service and food.
This was an off night for this place. We have been here before and no issues. However on this night the service was slow and the food had obviously sat under the lights for too long. My husband’s pasta was so dried out he had to ask for extra sauce. Other members of our party received pasta that was cold. Maybe they were understaffed but for the money it was not the experience we would have expected based on past visits.
I wouldn't recommend this disaster of a restaurant to anyone. We had reservations for Christmas Eve. When we showed up at the restaurant about 5 minutes early, they asked us to wait and proceeded to seat 3 other groups who came after us. After we were seated, our server brought us menus and vanished. We waited for 20 minutes to flag down a server who took our orders. After waiting 30 minutes and watching every table get food, we flagged down the server again who said that the food would be there shortly and at that time brought us some bread (which should have been brought a lot sooner). After another 30 minutes, the restaurant manager came out and told us that the kitchen was backed up and we weren't going to get our food. This is horrible and unacceptable. It was now past 9 pm and all the restaurants in the area were closed. He offered us gift cards for future visits. So, we basically sat for over 1.5 hours and didn't get any food. How is this considered acceptable? If they don't know how to run a restaurant, then they shouldn't bother customers with their lack of service, rudeness, and dirty tables and carpet. The ambiance was terrible with a loud noise, dirty carpets with rolled up tissues, dirty tables, and servers who looked absolutely mad that they were there.
We felt that the poor service and restaurant skills were the issues because we were the only brown family in there. This is because everyone else got food except for us and everyone got better service except for us.
Needless to say we won't be going back and would dissuade our friends as well.
Great service and awesome food. Our waitress was fantastic.
Food was below average!!
Based on my experience on Monday, I was very unhappy. Our waiter and the manager both were lacking in customer care. It was very disappointing.
Took over 1 hour to receive appetizers and salad. When the entrees came some were cold. The two meals were taken back and instead of making new they were heated up (possibly in a microwave). We had 3 children with us after a 2 hour period were exceptionally well behaved. After complaining multiple times a manager did come out, apologized and did comp our bill. I am glad the manager was responsive but had I not complained multiple times we would’ve been there longer and paid the bill for awful service and mediocre, at best, food.
Food took almost an hour to come out, but the food was fantastic and waiter was very good
30 minute wait with reservation. Finally seated in cold, barren, outer room.
The salmon salad was good but too much balsamic dressing kind of drowned it. My polmoro dish was fair. The spaghetti was too much el dente and not enough tomatoes. After all, it basically is just spaghetti and sauce. For the price it should have been better.
It seemed as if they were short staffed. our server wasn't supposed to be our server but no one came over. She said he was too busy. There were dirty tables everywhere l. You could tell the managers were running around trying hard to make a nice dining experience on black friday.
When ordering a salad, mine was with salmon, you expect healthy greens not shredded iceberg. I should have asked but most restaurants use field greens now so it didn’t occur to me that you would still serve iceberg without out it being spelled out in the menu
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time. Food service was very slow. Our waitress was very good, but it appeared she had too many tables to take care of for a busy Friday night. Food was very good. Staff was very friendly.
Waitress took a long time to bring bread as there was not many people in the restaurant. Also I had shrimp and lobster fettuccini and all my seafood was way over cooked. For the price I expected the food to taste better.
