BRAVO Cucina Italiana - Leawood Ratings and Reviews
I didn't care for the fact that it was a Valentine dinner and we were not separated in a quiet area with couples only with 1 couple per table for the Ambiance and and Romance. No it was at the front door and even though they designated an area for the Valentines reservations, they sat groups of people in the same area and pushed tables together and of course they all tried to speak over the other so it got stupid noisy, I will probably never go there again even though the food and everything else was acceptable.
The food was good as always. However the server was way over worked. Took awhile to get bread, drink refills and the check. The check and the credit card receipt didn’t match so had to send back. In addition the server never brought us our left overs. We had to leave for a movie.
We tried a new appetizer - stuffed banana peppers - on this visit and really enjoyed it. We were surprised by how spicy they were but very good nonetheless. The salads and pasta are always up to our expectations and the warm chocolate cake completed a fine meal.
our lunch group enjoyed getting together in the private room and everyone was pleased with their food choices. bread and beverages were refilled without asking and as always our server was great and the manager came by to check on us as well. all in all - a terrific get together.
In the past, I have always enjoyed Bravo. The shrimp scampi was tasteless. It was like eating boiled shrimp. Small portion for dinner. The calamari was also without taste. The other guests joining me felt the same about the food. For a New Year's Eve dinner, they could at least put up some balloons in the restaurant to make it a special occasion. Was not what I have come to know at Bravo. Very disappointing.
Another good meal at Bravo's. I ordered the salmon and shrimp risotto and unfortunately, when the dish arrived, there was no risotto in it. They took it back to the kitchen and added a tiny amount of risotto. This was disappointing, to say the least. The picture of the dish was a load of salmon and shrimp on a big bed of risotto. The risotto in my dish was practically impossible to even see. The dish was good - just don't sell it as risotto when you add 5 grains of risotto to it.
I ordered the surf and turf. Was very excited because it's a seasonal item. Once the food arrived. The asparagus was overt cooked and burnt. I moved them to the side to taste the steak and potato. My steaks were cold each once. I could pick them up with my hand. Not to mention the potatoes were cold also.. Once the waitress came back. I had to inform her my entire plate was unsatisfactory... She (Arian) took the plate apologized and had a fresh one made. Honestly I was disappointed. We love Bravo and it had been awhile since we been. My husband was sad because it was his idea for dinner. So he shared his chicken parm, until my food came out again ..
We will eat Bravo again. Just with a slight hesitation on any seasonal items..
I had reservations for eight, we arrived on time and our table was ready. Our server was very attentive to our needs. She brought us a booster chair and sling for our child and infant. The bread and dipping sauce very delicious. Our food came out in a timely manner. She offered a dessert menu. But they were out of the bread pudding, so she offered another dessert on the house. I love the food and it is my favorite restaurant. I recommend this restaurant to my out of town friends and relatives.
