BRAVO Cucina Italiana - Cincinnati - Rookwood Exchange
we always are happy there, food good, service good, only thing that could be better, some areas noiser than others
We had a friendly and attentive waitress, unfortunately I don't remember her name. My only complaint, was that I ordered the Spaghetti Bolonese and it was delivered rather "lukewarm" definitely not hot.
We will definitely return.
Great place for a date and casual atmosphere. I chose this place for Mother’s Day This place would be even better with great summer weather. All-in-all, we were all very satisfied given the amount of business Bravo had. We sat in the bar section and I’m absolutely glad we did. Kevin, the Bartender, was exceptional. Beside making all the drinks for the restaurant and the bar section, he was also our waiter and the waiter for everyone in the bar section. Kevin was spot on professional , diligent and informative. We would all go back based on how Kevin was able to manage everything he was doing and still make where his customers were taken care of...all things considered.
Great ambiance; attentive wait staff & delicious food!
The service was slower than usual in part because the server seemed inexperienced which fixes itself with time. Otherwise he had an upbeat and engaging personality and good menu knowledge. Food was mostly very good except for the chicken marsala which I have had before and this was not what I have had at Bravo in the past. Very bad. You could not taste the marsala at all and there were a lot of spices which just made for an incoherent flavor hodge-podge. The sauce should be tawny to a dark tan in color but this sauce was closer to a burnt orange. It seemed to have a substantial amount of paprika which I have never seen used in a Marsala I really like Chicken Marsala as a dish and will likely try again. If the recipe was correct, and it was supposed to be the way it was served. I might be less inclined to visit going forward. My wife enjoyed her glass of Estancia Pinot Noir suggested by the server. Calamari was good but I like it a little more crispy. I ate half of the Marsala and did not expect it to be comp'd but they did comp the dish. I appreciated that. This is a good restaurant and we generally have good experiences when we go there. I am disinclined to hold a little hiccup against it. We will be back
Tables too close at the Rookwood location. Could not hear our party talking. Both my husband and my chicken was greatly over cooked and dry. Very disappointing, as up to this point my experience at the West Chester location had been very good.
I gave Bravo a low overall because my reservation was at 5:30 and received a message from the restaurant at 5:02 reading that my reservation was cancelled. My daughter arrived before me and the hostess couldn't find the reservation. I could not have cancelled the reservation because at 5:02 I was driving to the restaurant and did not text or call while driving. The hostess seemed very stressed but did get us a table and found the reservation after about 5-minutes of searching. This was a very ridiculous event and I did stop some of my family members from posting the event on social media.
It was mother’s day, so I’m cutting them some slack. That being said food service was very slow, we were not checked on very frequently for refills and the like, requested items were not brought in a timely manner, and the menu is fairly limited and a bit overpriced.
Our waiter was friendly and helpful and checked in on us frequently, but not too frequently. She accommodated extra things people requested and recommended dishes based on our questions and preferences. The whole dining experience was excellent. We would definitely come back again.
Although we made reservations days ahead of our 5/10/19 evening, we were waiting for 20-25 mins due to an overcrowded evening with early Mother's Day and prom goers. It was not mentioned by staff but had I known of the unexpected crowd, I would have foregone the reservation and chosen another dinner date. My entree was 2 pieces of dried out chicken and over heat lamped pasta-mediocre at best. Nice enough waiter but so overwhelmed, he served the wrong glass of wine. A bad experience overall ☹
Our group of 5 people were not happy. We had a reservation for 7 p.m. I arrived at 6:40 p.m. and was told by the manager that we should be seated in 10 or 15 minutes.
We actually were seated at 7:33 p.m., and did not get our food until 8:33 p.m.
Took family there to celebrate husband’s birthday. Did the same last year and really liked how they recognized the event. This year, it was basically ignored. Off the list now. Just an ordinary chain place now.
Super nice classic Italian recipes! Fun patio with a fire pit and nice for many different occasions.
We have eaten at several different Bravo restaurants in the past and have always enjoyed both the food and service. One of our dishes was over sauced, and the other had very little flavor. Both of these dishes we have enjoyed on other occasions at different locations. Our server was attentive initially, but after our food arrived she did not return to check on our needs until immediately prior to providing us with our check.
Excellent food - good service
Bravo is always a nice balance between elegant dining and comfortable dining. The lighting is always just right - soft enough to be attractive, but bright enough to read the menu! The food is always tasty- the pasta is always al dente. Our waitress, Tess, did a good job of waiting on our table and getting our orders correct. We like the open sided booths here - convenient for getting in and out! The menu has a good selection of options for everyone.
Family get together. Great atmosphere, great wine. Good pasta. While the side salad (house salad) is very good, the up charge for it along with the entree is a little high.
The food was a pleasant surprise. The portions are substantial without being “trough-like”, and everything was presented well and in good taste. However overall, it seems the restaurant is playing down to its clientele rather than lifting up its potential. It is difficult for sure to establish a decent restaurant and dining experience when you have customers in sweat pants and shorts. It is not my business or bottom line so who am I to judge, but the rolls of white paper over the tables which are I guess for crayons, is just one thing of many that makes Bravo! more like an Italian Bob Evans.
Granted this review is probably less of an indictment on the restaurant than the state of affairs in American society. I am reluctant to be too critical because Bravo! Is a business that needs to make money and makes money by serving a populace fashioned in the style and finesse of Al Bundy. I wish it required more from its customers, but how can it?
So, if you want to go to a Brio style casual restaurant with better food, I recommend Bravo! It really wants to be a little more hip and nicer, even though there is a sports bar with TV in the main part of the restaurant, it just can’t be anything more than what the customers allow it to be. So, if you are interested in a place to take someone that you want to show a nice evening to then I cannot recommend Bravo!
The lunch options were perfect, the food was delicious, and the service was fantastic!
There are so many other restaurants in that area that I would recommend before Bravo. It took us awhile to get the bottle of wine to our table and the filet that I ordered didn't have much flavor. It was cooked medium rare perfectly, but there wasn't any seasoning on it. The asparagus was soggy and the pasta noodles and sauce had hardened like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. We weren't checked on to see how the food was until we were almost finished with it, and some other guy who wasn't our server came by and asked if we were planning on ordering anything else and gave us our check even though we told him we were going to order dessert and weren't finished with our meal. We weren't offered dessert, so I had to ask to see a menu from another employee who walked by. We ordered our dessert from him. We didn't feel welcome to stay toward the end of our meal even though we wanted to stay and finish our dessert and bottle of wine. The patio was nice and the noise level was comfortable. Our table wasn't fully set, so I had to grab a couple of app plates and silverware when our appetizer came out. I don't think the appetizer was taken off of the check either, even though I showed our server a complimentary app email. I didn't check though, so I can't say that 100%. Anyway - I won't be coming back or recommending to anyone I know.
Excellent service, food was very good. Very loud, we came during an off time so it could have been because it was empty. Very nice experience
I made the reservation online for 10:30am. When we arrived, we were told they didn’t open until 11am. Fortunately they set up a table for us but it was strange because we were clearly the only people there. Then they handed us the normal lunch/dinner menu. It was surprising to find out they didn’t do brunch. I should have checked but I assumed a place that had 10am and 10:30am reservations served some kind of breakfast.
So we ended up eating pasta and lunch for brunch. It would have been fine if the reservation had been for a alter lunch or dinner.
When we raised these issues our server told us they were apparently aware of the issues .... but no one was doing anything to fix it.
Our server did an excellent job. We tried two of the new "family recipe" items on the menu and a bottle of one of the Italian pairings that was suggested. No complaints at all.
The food is delicious and excellent. I went with my son and he love it. He is very strictly with tha taste of the food but love it. The pesto spaghetti is just delicious.
We enjoyed our dinners but the service was a little lacking.
First time at Bravo. Everything was excellent. Will plan to go back.
We had Large group and everyone throughly enjoyed their dinners. First time for many. Terrific wait staff.
As a longtime patron of Bravo’s, I was very disappointed in my last 2 dinners at the Rookwood location. In particular, this time the quality and flavor of my entree was not up to previous standards. I ordered the Caprese salad with added grilled shrimp. The salad had small thin slices of tomato and was a small portion. The “grilled” shrimp were lukewarm and were not grilled.
Our server was very good, pleasant and properly attentive. She was the only memorable part of the meal.
My dinner partner had the pork chop which was a good size but very salty from the rub used in the preparation.
Since this is the second mediocre experience I have had at this location , I did not choose to make an issue of it , as I feel it is a chef issue.
I will not be returning to this location since there are many other, better food choices in the immediate Rookwood area.
It was nice but the waiter was not very attentive.
Meal before. Pops concert. Was very nice. We will be back for sure.
Great service and excellent food!
Food was great and served hot. Can’t remember our waitress name but she was great to
My husband and I visited BRAVO on a Thursday evening and we were very pleased with the food, drinks and value. Our server was excellent. I especially appreciate the BRAVO loyalty program that gave us 25% off our dinner check (excluding alcohol).
Food is always great. Staff always friendly and provide great service
Menu has changed, and not as flavorful or diverse as the previous menu. Some of the foods were bland. Alot of spaghetti now. The soup was good. I took the entire family for a birthday celebration and the mediocre food put a damper on the entire celebration. The previous menu was fabulous and the food was outstanding. I bragged about how good it was and then had to apologize. I understand that there are new owners. They seem to have tried to fix something that was not broken. I also noticed that some of management was not quite as warm (gentlemen greeter was exceptionally nice) as it used to be...seem to be going through the motions and staff is not as diverse anymore either. Our waitress was wonderful! She did the best she could with what she had (noticed no one was really helping her). I noticed one of the management team try to chastise her on the floor. (small woman with dark hair...she was mean). Another management individual (heavier female with blonde hair) checked every table except ours. She did come around later after we had received our food (slowly) and just about finished. I took all of this in. The Sangria was weak and horrible! Whoever bought Bravos messed up a good thing. Will never take a party of people there again, and we used to go there all the time for various family celebrations. NOPE!
we both tried selections from the new menu and were pleasantly surprized.
Both our server and the manger were great! The kids loved shaping their own dough and all of the food was delicious!
Service and food were excellent.
A lovely ambiance, good food and service for just a little more money than you would pay at a lesser restaurant like Big Boy or Bob Evans. It's one of our favorites! Also, if you join their rewards program, you get frequent rewards and discounts including a free appetizer just for joining. Worth it!!!
