We enjoy this restaurant as a convenient place to get a bite before going to the theater. The food is always delicious and the service, right on target. It's our go-to spot!
Tables for two are just too small and too close together-Waitress placing something on table next to us and knocked over small candle which smashed splashing hot wax on my boot and
pant leg. She was quick to bring over a glass with ice water which didn't accomplish anything.
Had rezervarions. Was seated promptly by courteous staff. Generous cocktail and delicious entree. Prompt service. Suggest reservations for Friday nights. Reasonable pricing. Good value restaurant.
Good as always although very tight seating, host was not overly friendly at entrance
Pre PPAC dinner was delicious!! Service was timely with a smile!!
Very friendly employees , Apps & meal was delicious. Our waitress couldn’t be more helpful & friendly.
I’ve always had a good meal here.
1. Claw slaw was good , too much poppy seed thou.
2. Potato’s with the onions & peppers did not have enough.
3. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner ! Your staff should always be checking it !!
4. I hope the kitchen was clean.
Very nice menu, excellent service. Great location for dinner before the theater, and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Appetizers were delicious and entrees well prepared.
Very good service. My food was ok. I liked the slaw more than my chicken wrap sandwich but I think it is me. I try not to have chicken in restaurants because I make chicken at home. So I think it is me and not the sandwich. I prefer to eat fish when I am out so a fish sandwich is usually my choice but there was no fish on the menu. My friends liked their meals.
We often stop in after Trinity. Foods good, served late, often the actors come over to wind down
Tonight was really off. They had a ore play crowd but very few after. End of run, I suppose.
At any rate, I had a baked Cod that came with summer squash and rice. Nothing fancy but a great Friday meal before Easter. Nice wines by the glass.
Very quiet, intimate meal in a place usually overflowing at that time.
I patronized due to seeing GF items on menu. After I specifically requested a meal that was GF, it was brought out and it wasn't GF and had to send it back. This kinda ruined my dining experience.
Our service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was great!
Before a show at Trinity Repertory (right across the street) the only place is Bravo. Food is always consistently great and the valet parking is a plus too! If you are lucky enough to have Kristen as your server, your experience will be truly perfect! She is highly efficient courteous, and hard working.
I'm a regular- Bravo is a favorite..menu doesn't change a lot, but always find something tasty . They do a great job getting Trinity theater-goers in and out in time for the play.
Went before going to Trinity Rep show. Tables are very close together and gets loud when crowded. Our waitress was very good and food came out with only short wait.
Serving size was large for the meatloaf my son had. My open face steak sandwich was good but a lot of garlic flavor,
Cheesecake for dessert was great
Prices are reasonable but dinner for 2 was $92
We decided to go to Bravo's since we were going to Trinity Rep. Theater. I had just okay meals there in the past but we didn't want to fight the traffic going to another restaurant. I ordered the fillet and it came with lyonnaise potatoes, asparagus, and béarnaise sauce. When I got my food, it was lukewarm and the béarnaise sauce was cold. My friend asked the waiter if it should be hot and he said they served it room temperature. I'm glad I asked for it on the side.
It was awful. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my meal. For $32, I expect my meal to be hot and the dish should be hot as well. They are very pricy for what you get and I won't be going back for a while. Lunch is okay for a sandwich. The scallops are worth the money.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find such a charming place during our business travel to Providence. The waitress was engaging and professional. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere and decor inviting.
A great place for “dinner for two”..!
Food was good but we ordered small plates. I always like the mussels but my husband did not like his seafood sampler. Lobster bisque was strange with chewy strips of Lobster?? floating on top of the bisque. A bit pricey for what we ate. Dessert was good.
A nice place to dine before Trinity! It was bustling, but we felt we were well taken care of by Katie. Awesome mussels Dijon.
Looking at the menu, we wanted to order more than we could possibly eat, so we decided on shared plates. Every dish was brilliantly executed. Every plate looked and tasted great. We ran out of space in our stomachs before we ran out of time. So, we left for the Trinity Rep across the street, watched the play, and then came back after to finish up our meal w/ a massive bowl of giant mussels (Moules Fritte) and a glass of wine. This place is great for dining before going to the theater b/c 1) it's right across the street 2) they have valet parking and will hold your car until after the show and 3) the food is great. My recommendation is to come back for dessert after the show to avoid the crowd all waiting for the valet to get their cars at the same time. After the show there's plenty of seating, service is quick and when you leave to get your car it'll probably be parked right at the curb already!
Great place for dinner before Trinity performances
Very good brunch. Delicious food. Old school waitress that never wrote down our order. That is usually a really good or really bad sign. She nailed the order & was so on the money. Great authentic ambience. Fantastic value. Good wine list. Worth the visit again when we visit Providence. PS: I've been in the wine biz in NY for 30 years, so I would say we have high standards...
Overall a very disappointing dinner. The restaurant was packed and the noise level was very high making conversation difficult. The service was good which was surprising but the food was just mediocre. Overall I would not recommend
We have usually dined at Bravo prior to seeing a play at Trinity Rep. We are season subscribers. This time we had made the dinner reservation over a week earlier through Open Table. On arriving, we were forced to eat in the bar. The hostess was rude and insisted open table had booked us even though there were no tables. This could not be true. We stayed, but the evening was less than fun. I am doubtful we will return.
The service last Friday night 2/9/18 was awful. Reservations at 7:15. I had to ask for a server after sitting with my party of 4 for 15 minutes.
The bottom line is the fact that we did not get our dinner until 8:45. We told our server we had a show at 9:00. I could not eat my dinner because it was so late. I could not take it with me because of the show. I wasted $200.00 . Food is always good as I’ve been at Bravo (3) other times. There was no manager available to complain too.
I left extremely upset. KU6EGL KU6EGL
We see a lot of shows at the PPAC and we always eat at Bravo. It has become our favorite restaurant. We love the staff and we love the food. It is always good and the variety is excellent.
Valet makes it extremely convenient. Great food and awesome service. Food and wine selection was great. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent, especially dessert. We used a Groupon which was basically like using a discount. Pricey, but food and service is excellent. If there's an event upstairs, seating can be limited and it's a little extra noisy downstairs, especially if you're near the door.
Food excellent. Salads yummy. Wasn’t greeted when we came in. Had to get their attention to just be acknowledge after arriving for a few minutes.
Would dine here again.
Always enjoy dinning here. They go above and beyond to please with great food and outstanding service. Kudos to the entire staff.
Bravo is my “go-to” restaurant before a show at PPAC. The complimentary valet parking service is handled by great guys. My car is always waiting on the street when I return. The wait staff inquire about PPAC attendance as you are seated and service is prompt! Always satisfied with their menu (although I do miss the Steak Frites!!)
We went for Restaurant Week with another couple. They have a two-fer deal that is fantastic.
salads: Bravo salad and Caesar salad both delicious, fresh and with tasty dressing.
main courses: Chicken Oscar good but slightly dry.
Steak frites: steak was cooked perfectly and delicious, though I personally am not a fan of the restaurant trend of charred outside.
Ubiquitous zucchini/squash seasonal vegetable.
Salmon looked excellent, though I did not taste my friend's portion.
dessert: Excellent creme brulee dessert. Other choices included: ice cream and choc. chip cookies (did not order - could have this at home) and apple crisp made with oatmeal.
Service was friendly and attentive but not pushy. Wine recommendations were good.
2 year anniversary
Four adults meeting for dinner following a PC basketball game. We arrived before our 6:30 reservation around 6pm. Checked in then waited at the bar. 6:30 came and went and no one checked back with us, so we asked about our table. Told a few minutes more as we’re waiting for people to leave. By 7pm nothing progressing. We are offered a table on the 2nd floor. Told it will be quieter, if that was okay. We said fine. Turned out there was a 20 person party table around the corner and they were noisy. (Can’t blame them they were having a good time ).
The setting was not as promised and the service was compromised as a result.
The food served was a disappointment. Chicken was dry, not moist. Pasta undercooked with a bland ‘vodka sauce’. Beef was hardly prepared as ordered. The wait for food made it not worth sending anything back. Overall disappointing.
We had a very nice visit - food very good service excellent - it was crowded due to restaurant week but expected.
Dined there during Providence Restaurant Week. Enjoyed the food, attentiveness of the waitress. Very good quality food prepped and served. The pre dinner bread was outstanding as well. Very good cocktails.
Food is always very good with exceptional service. Great pre theater restaurant.
Waitress was fantastic. Best ever. She should get a bonus.
Solid restaurant but average.
We dined at Bravo for a New Year's Eve dinner with family. The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere and a feeling that many regulars like to dine there. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Plenty of space between tables and the noise level is moderate at most. Very easy to hear your dinner companions. Our waitress, Maureen, was friendly and efficient!
