Bravo Bistro is an elegant eatery located in the heart of Providence"s Theater District, two blocks from Kennedy Plaza. Bravo is a full service restaurant complete with excellent menus and a large selection of wines from regions around the world.
Located on the second floor is an award-winning banquet facility for private functions. It has large picture windows overlooking the city and the Trinity Repertory Theater. Its a must see!
We had a great time at Bravo Bistro for Father’s Day! The food was yummy and the service was great. I tried mussels for the first time and they were delicious! Highly recommend!
2nd year in a row they messed up our reservation which we made way in advance, which started our visit off poorly. Waitstaff was fabulous on an incredibly busy night
The restaurant was busy the evening of Saturday, June 15th due to Providence Pride. As a result service was very slow, but the server did her very best to accommodate us. Great location and the food was very good.
Pride. And our anniversary
Always great food but the seating is VERY TIGHT. Great!
Poached pair salad with nicely cooked tuna. Presented well in Bibb lettuce.
Poached eggs were cooked perfectly.
Always great friendly service and really good food. Their crusty baguette is worth eating bread!
My guest and I arrived 30mins early...we were seated immediately. Requested tap water and bread. Not a great deal of time passed but it was enough time as we were the only patrons and were thirsty after walking there after a show. I walked to the bar and was poured water from a pitcher...asked if we could have bread delivered to our table and received a smile and assurance it was on the way. Our bread arrived with dinner...such a disappointment not having time to enjoy before our meal. I felt our server was always rushed to leave us and in no hurry to return. My first time eating here...no hurry to return as there are numerous establishments in the area to feast. Really the small things were over looked.
Came i for the first time from Regency Plaza. Our "server" Maureen is outstanding and welcomed me as a neighbor as well as a patron. I will come back over and over again!
The food is always delicious!
Great food and service. Wasn't charged for a drink I ordered and ended up disliking.
Excellent food and service. Perfect place to go before a show at PPAC or Trinity Theaters. We will definitely go again!
First time for everything. Always have the mussels but was very disappointed as they were a little fishy and without flavor.
Maybe just an off night
Great restaurant! Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant wasn't crowed, and the food was delicious. Great place to go for a graduation dinner.
The waitress was really excellent- very bubbly and knew her stuff.
Best service I’ve had in Providence, food was terrific. We had a group of 6 on commencement weekend and we were fortunate to find a table. Portions were large, appetizers filled us up, wished we had room for dessert.
We love the $33 Monday special for two which includes a bottle of wine, salad and main course. It is an emjoyable and affordable night out and we enjoy pairing it with a performance at Trinity when we can. Our server was new but very attentive as was the valet parking attendant - in the pouring rain. We plan on becoming regulars as the food and wine is quite good.
The service was terrible. We did not get a drink order taken until at least 20 minutes after se sat down. I asked for a hot beverage after I ate my dinner and never received it. It was, however, on my tab. Server did not come and check on our meals or to see if we needed anything. Will not return. Disappointed!
We were greeted promptly at arrival and our table was waiting for us, and we had a large party tab. The service was fantastic and our waitress was fun and efficient. The food was very flavorful and everything came out in a timely fashion. Would definitely go back
Our first experience at Bravo was exemplary. Our server,Joe P. was helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be back
We were there for what we thought would be a Sunday brunch with a 2pm reservation. Turns out they stop serving the brunch menu at 2pm which was very disappointing - particularly because it was Mother's Day. We asked about accessing the brunch menu (having sat down right at 2pm) and they would not accommodate our request.
Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch with delicious food, Carmelized banana French Toast, great service and very reasonable prices. Looking forward to our next visit.
My chicken sandwich was extremely dry, by the others in my party thought their food was fine. Everything can’t be awesome all the time.
We have a subscription at Trinity Rep. so the location is convenient. We have tried other restaurants nearby, but always return to Bravo because the menu offers variety whether you want a full meal or a light meal, service is good, and the food is always good.
Bravo is a smaller restaurant that has a menu that fits many tastes. The food was great.
We love the convenience of this restaurant to Trinity Rep theater and always eat here before the show. We are season subscribers so this takes us right through the year and when we go to Water Fire we also come to this restaurant. I have always had excellent service, food, and value. Highly recommend.
My family and I have been to Bravo about 5 times in this past year when we attend a theater in Providence. We really like this place, and wish that we could love it because some things are so great but then some things aren’t. The food overall is always delicious, innovative and portions just right. Recently we ca,e twice for brunch and my sons steak was well done despite requesting medium rare and my fries were soggy. Knowing how fantastic their fries are normally, I sent them back and they were returned more crispy and cooked. However, our servers on both recent occasions were just so NOT happy, cheerful or pleasant. It was such a bad vibe! When we dine out and drop $100 on a meal we want to feel relaxed and happy...not like we are imposing on the servers time. The valet cam also at times be a little surly. One night I sat at the bar and enjoyed the cheerful personality of the female bartender (can’t remember her name). Bravo has so much potential and is in such a hot spot, great ambience and food...please just hire people who understand the hospitality business!
perfect for a night at Trinity. Loved the staff. Timely serving of food and bringing of tab. One likes to stay at this lovely place until curtain time at the theatre.
Bravo is great. The food is consistently good, as is the service. It's a great place to go before theater, as it is directly across the street from Trinity Rep, and it is walking distance to The Dunk and PPAC. They accept reservations, so you can plan your schedule and be out in time to for your next destination. Bravo is one of our go to places when we are in Providence.
I have been to Bravo a few times and this was the most disappointing visit. We were a party of 5 for lunch before a 2pm Trinity show. There were no outlandish orders but things were delivered to the table sporadically. First my side salad... makes sense. Then my mothers french onion soup which was her meal. Then a few minutes later my daughters chicken tenders. Five minutes later my friends salad. Five minutes alter my french onion soup. Then five minutes after that the pastrami sandwich. My mother was done eating when the pastrami sandwich was delivered to the table. I have never had quite an experience like this before at a restaurant. The waitress was quiet and not very friendly. The Onion soup- tasted like someone went heavy on chicken broth! But a pound of actual onions on the bottom! The french fries with the kids meal tasted like frozen fries but the chicken is good.
I rarely make such a negative write-up, but there is very little good to say about our experience at Bravo Bistro. The lobster club was excellent. It stops there. The corned beef hash was virtually inedible, the egg that came with it was cold, the cappucinos were cold, and the waitress who was serving the table next to us hit our table and spilled our coffees all over the table and into our laps. She never apologized. So, all in all, not a great experience.
The food was delicious - chicken piccata, meatloaf, sirloin, and steak sandwich. Dessert was as well: carrot cake, tiramisu, carmel vanilla crunch cake. Our server was delightful and attentive. Especially love the valet parking that they let you leave your car if attending a show in the area. We'll definitely be back!
Bravo Bistro is very conveniently located across from Trinity Rep theatre and a few blocks walk from PPAC. We arrived on time for our reservation and our table was ready. Our waiter made a point of asking us if we were headed to a show so he could make sure we'd make it on time. The service was great. The food was good, my friend had the vegetable ravioli and she enjoyed it. I had the side salad which was very fresh with a tasty shallot viniagrette dressing, and I had the seafood sampler appetizer. The seafood was fresh and came with tasty sauces (cocktail sauce for shrimp, spicy aioli for crab cakes and wasabi on tuna). The only drawback was that some of the fish was more well done than I'd have liked. Next time I would try a sandwich or a burger - the table next to us had ordered them and they looked awesome! The valet parking was a godsend as the weather was rainy and made everything very easy for us. I recommend trying Bravo Bistro!
We had tickets to PPAC and Bravo was close enough to walk there. The meal was good. I had a salad, and my companion had mussels which were perfectly done. It was a very large portion too.
My only complaint is the cocktails. I ordered a Moscow Mule but could not drink it: the worst ginger beer I have ever had. It had no flavor at all. I left it and had a G&T, which was marginally better. My friend had a perfect bourbon Manhattan and loved it.
It is a nice restaurant with good food and great service. It may have been an off night for the bartender. I will definitely go again, and I definitely recommend it.
We had Easter dinner there. The chicken piccata was very good and the atmosphere was nice. No children’s menu.
They made a mistake on my food, but corrected it right away, so no harm done . Cool atmosphere
Went there for Saturday brunch with group of 7.
Two of the water glasses needed to be returned - one for something floating in water, the other for lipstick on the glass.
Two in the group ordered soup, which was forgotten.
One in the group ordered a salad, which was given to another table by mistake.... and was delivered about 10 minutes later.
Service was not up to par. They were very busy and couldn't keep up. First time ever
Quiet night at Bravo because the theatre was closed, but dinner was relaxing and very good. Staff was attentive and friendly. Great ambiance. Would definitely go back!
We love to enjoy dinner before going to the theater...just across the street. The staff are always warm, welcoming and very friendly. The food is excellent and starts with a diminutive loaf of warm and crisp French style sour dough bread. The one exception to visiting, this time being even more notable, is the noise level. It is deafening with people's conversations that are so loud to the point of being discourteous. We were feigning sign language...ridiculing the fact that we could not hear each other speak...while others in the room just increased their volume of shouting and laughing to compensate for the noise around them. This makes the atmosphere a lot less relaxing. I would suggest going to dinner around 7pm when the exuberant theater patrons have left to see their show.
