Brasserie Saint Marc
The circa 1834 building was carefully restored to reclaim its original antique brick and window arches. Custom steel doors and windows have been fabricated to match the Victorian accents of the original finishes. All the bars are made of Italian Oak and wrapped with white Carrera Marble. The floors are a mix of White & Black Carrera Marble with custom hand cut borders and floral design by Krister Atle of Rosehip & Linnea!
Brasserie Saint Marc is a pretty restaurant in a busy neighborhood. The food is very good and the service is equally good...friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.
My boyfriend and I very much enjoyed our dinner here. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and we will definitely be back! Great food and outstanding service!
My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary and it could not have been better. The service was outstanding and they even comped us a free glass of champagne. This is a must visit for any date night 10/10.
A friend told me and I'll tell you, the food and service was amazing! Alex gave me exceptional service and was very patient with all of my questions.
Since it was my first time there I just wanted to try a bit of everything. I got the salmon tartare (amazing), the beef tartare (good but the salmon was better lol), the Handmade Varenyky (so f*cking good!!!).
Amazing meal and experience. I would definitely go back again just for those Varenyky and the salmon tartatre!
This restaurant is underwhelming. The space was incongruous, the food was decent but offered little value given the prices. It might be suitable for an upper East side neighborhood but not in East Village. The NYT preview oversold this place.
Was there on Friday night, very cool nice spot. Host greeted me (Alex) and I had a choice of sitting in the front, bar or back (I chose the Bistro). Ordered a Salmon Tare Tare which was incredible, along with the Duck Confit. The Salmon was super fresh and came with home made potato chips. The Duck was perfect, nice and crispy, flavorful, and tender. The server was excellent, didn't make any mistakes. Drinks were good, they have a pretty serious whiskey selection, I had MacCallan 18. For sure coming back.
Great ambiance, great vibe. Sat at the bar alone, had Death in the Afternoon Cocktail. Ordered Ukrainian Platter for food. Both were excellent. Found a new go-to spot, happy I did. Workers were very friendly and everyone cares very much.
Very bad service and was not too impressed with the food. However the bar was really nice
Incredibly inattentive service
This Restaurant is definitely worth to check out. The spot if you are in the area that will satisfy everyone’s taste. Menu items are a great mix of French, American and Eastern European dishes.
Ambience in the restaurant is peaceful. Perfect date spot. Lights are dimmed, nice music in the background, nicely done decorations. Relaxing restaurant in the middle of quite busy area.
I ordered side of Bigos(Eastern European dish, mix of cabbage and meat) and side of steak that was cooked perfectly. Ordered also handmade varenyky (potato and cheese filling in hand made dough). All things ordered met my expectations and exceeded them.
Definitely coming back.
Walked passed by looking for a place to eat and warm up as it was starting to rain. I looked in the windows and saw the ambiance was inviting so I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did!!! From the outside it looked like a French Restaurant but the menu read French - Eastern European YUM I started with the French Onion Soup and Pirogies and for my entree I chose the Bigos - Hunter’s Platter and a 6oz NY Strip side. My server was attentive and the bartender was helpful guiding me on the wine list. The food was INCREDIBLE especially the homemade Pirogies one owners kindly told me was an old Ukrainian recipe. I passed on dessert and asked for the rest room, and the manager pointed out where it was and I discovered other rooms and a private area downstairs. Brasserie Saint Marc is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered and is such an asset to the neighborhood! I hope this place last because I’ll be back with friends.
The burger saint marc I ate was out of this world! The decor is so beautiful and I can’t explain but it was just an amazing experience all in all. Definitely a must try. ESPECIALLY THE BURGER
Lovely restaurant overall, and the owners have obviously invested a fortune by its design and looks.
Prices not unreasonable, but very much "nickel-and-diming" to charge $3.00 for bread; just fold the cost into the menu.
From the stone cold unwelcoming hostess to always absent server to the inordinate wait for food on a Friday night when the place was half empty
Food was ok but not a reason to go out of the way to come back
Three of us had Stark au Poivre and while the steak was good there was literally no sauce to dip the fries in which maybe was a good thing because they were the worst frozen fries I’ve ever had in a French joint
Place will not be around a long time would be my guess
This French Style eatery had been open four weeks prior to our attending and we were very pleased with both service and food. The bar area was very extensive and the decor was very warm and inviting. We had the frogs legs, escargot and Pate for appetizers with the trout, and hunters plate as the main course. The food was extremely tasty and the menu continues to be tweeked as we speak. I highly recommend this eatery for a warm and enjoyable dinner.
Great food ! Excellemt service!
We were excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood, but were decidedly disappointed when we left. Our server was nice, but clearly was dealing with a problem with her support staff and the kitchen. No one knew what was going on. We had to ask for cutlery for our steaks. Our food came out over time and the servers did not know who had ordered what. The food was OK, but not good enough to make us want to come back. Also the hostess was snotty - not to us, but to folks who didn’t have a reservation. It was awkward to see that and it set the stage for the rest of the evening. Maybe she was overwhelmed, but that’s no excuse. I know this restaurant just opened, but the owners need to up their game b/c the East Village is filled with great restaurants.
We had a disappointing meal at Brasserie Saint Marc. It started by being shown to a table by the front door in the bar area where a cold hostess insisted that the tables in the restaurant area were ‘reserved’ even though we had a reservation and it was only 6:30pm! She tried to protest when a manager agreed to move us to the restaurant area.
Aside from the beet salad which was good the other salads were dull and lacking in flavor. The duck confit was terribly salty. The most aggravating part was when after the check was split bt two couples and paid my friend received a bank alert and realized he had also been charged for the entire bill.
We won’t be returning to this restaurant.
Beautiful space, great ambience, friendly, professional service. The food is not quite up to the design and service, however. An appetizer of octopus had more onions and other vegetables then octopus and an entrée of salmon was swimming in a tomato and bean sauce that did not complement it very well. A very limited selection of wine is also a drawback.
Nice addition to the LES dining scene. Good wine value. Very good French basics. Cocktails were slightly sweeter than they need be. Great service. Highly recommend.
The food was middling at best. Mushroom toast was drowning in cheese with big, chunks of mushrooms. The beet salad had the same issue of big hunks of beet, only a few flakes of cheese and no dressing on the arugula leaves.entrees were delivered very late and were also middling.
Brasserie Saint Marc was a wonderful surprise.....My Husband & I shared a Beet Salad and the special of the nite Beef Bourguignon .....both were AMAZING.
This Restaurant is beautifully designed with a welcoming Staff......this is a great addition to our neighborhood
Went with my family and my 4 year old on Sunday night and has a wonderful evening! Gorgeous place and so spacious and comfortable, and the food was so delicious we were rolling out from there. 😋 We had oysters and varenyky and then boeuf bourgingione and trout and it was heavely. For dessert we had chocolate mousse and tarte tartine which was just like in Paris! We are definitely coming back soon.
Great new spot, food is delicious, not one bad bite! Staff was also extremely friendly. Ambiance was perfect. They have wine on tap, our first glass had fermented, but otherwise everything about the evening was perfect! Highly recommend.
We had the best time! The restaurant is beautiful, staff was friendly and the food exceeded expectations. Cant wait for our return visit.
Beautiful new restaurant but we were seated too close to another couple with an empty restaurant and many larger 3/4 person tables unoccupied. Food was very good but slightly expensive for St. Marks area which seems to be an unfortunate trend nowadays. French food but nothing else about it seemed French - not even one waitstaff. The busboy was overattentive with water - so much so I had to ask him to stop. Left early because of the above and hit some cheaper, more lively options on St. Marks.
I decided to take my wife for a dinner. Place was elegant, food delicious, service attentive.
Brasserie Saint Marc is on the right track to becoming a new must go spot, but every new restaurant needs to work out some kinks. The cocktails are spot on (and surprisingly quite large), the food tasty (and perfectly proportioned), and the interior spaces elegant. The service just needs more practice, but that will come in time. I look forward to having my birthday party in the jungle booth!
Food was really good. We will be back to try some other dishes.
We were alone in the front dining room yet we had to ask three times for the music to be turned down.
Good situation . It was disconcerting being told that much of the menu was not available - no steak, no daily special, no scallops.... Service a little odd.
Just opened...but the prices were not discounted. Potato pierogi - fried glutinous mashed potato, tasteless frog legs. Chicken not too bad. Fish ok. Veal ok - little dry.
Would take another look... but if like this again, that will be it.
Many items on the menu were missing but we were only told about that after ordering.
The waiters didn’t seem to know what items were on the menu or what was available. With a few of the items they couldn’t even explain to us about what the dish was.
Orders were confused and we received the wrong dishes and the wrong drinks.
Felt very disorganized.
Cavernous and decor is cliche. Needs a lot of work food wise. Who serves frozen French Fries with the potato bits as crust in a French style bistro?
Everything you would expect of an upscale French bistro. Great food, professional service in a lovely space.
