Ruhlmann rules! Authentic french ambiance and food was excellent. One of the family members greeted us and attended throughout our dinner. Charming hospitality. This family has vineyards in northeastern france, which we will visit.

A lovely place--not too crowded or noisy or large. Fairly intimate bistrot style. Some windows have views (from a short distance) of Rockefeller Center, including the Christmas tree during the holidays. We had a very attentive and prompt wait staff for our dinner. The offerings of wine by the glass were very good. The crab cake appetizers were delicious, as was my Skate (fish). The rabbit with pasta was not quite as good--it could have used more sauce and flavor. The prices are what you might expect near a tourist destination in midtown. All in all, a really pleasant experience for the holidays in New York.

The food was spectacular and the service was exquisite. I had a seven year old and an 11 year old and they both loved the short ribs as well as the polenta appetizer and even the octopus. I had a steak and wife had the skate both of which were cooked to perfection with delicious sauces. well done

We have had lunch, dinner and drinks at this restaurant many times but it’s always our special place to go for dinner when we go into the city to see the tree. Great service and great food.

Well this place couldn’t be more “New York at Christmas “ right by the Rockefeller xmas tree! This is our 2nd time here both at xmas time. There is a high top table near the bar with a great view of the tree even. Very nice place with good food- fancy even but not too much so! The scallops I had were delicious- and they had my favorite rose by the glass- which is rare! I’d highly recommend this restaurant especially at Xmas time! A real treat!

We live up the street on Fifth Avenue and had not been to Brasserie Ruhlmann for several months. It was definitely one of the best lunches we have had in NYC and we eat lunch out every day. The skate was the best I have ever had, my husband’s burger and fries were excellent and the thin apple tart for dessert was terrific. The waitress was delightful and clearly made our lunch even more enjoyable. We will be back to BR next week, for sure, so my husband can order the superb skate I had eaten.

Great lunch. Food was outstanding and service very good. The croque monsieur was amazing!!! A little too loud to enjoy conversation but with such good food and location at Rockefeller Center, it's still well worth it.

I frequent the Brasserie numerous times per year for business lunches and the service has always had a bit of an "attitude". The food is decent "basserie" food, but a bit pricey given its location. This last visit, has really soured me on the restaurant. We were seated right next to the service entrance and requested a different table. We were told that there were no other tables available, although I could clearly see at least a dozen tables for two that were open. My second request was again met by a curt response of "nothing available". Through the course of our business lunch, my chair was seven times by servers coming in and out of the door. Ten minutes into our lunch a woman was brought to the table next to us and requested a different table. She was immediately shown to another table for two elsewhere in the restaurant.

The special past was excellent and the caramel sundae was outstanding. Waiters changed during lunch and it took a while for the waiter to come to take our dessert order. Had to wait awhile also before the waiter realized we were ready for our check.

Open table reservation time was not followed by this restaurant. Food was absolutely not worth of money. Service was poor. There are better restaurants in the area with great food & service for the same price. I would not suggest this restaurant to any one.

The waitress whild competent was left woth too many tables to give the type of service i expected. My drink was empty too lo g for my likii g and the water was nott refilled quickly.

My wife and I arrived approximately 30 minutes prior to our reservation time. We were looking for an early escape from the madness that is the Rockafellar Center Holiday tree viewing. Technically the restaurant is closed during the time that we arrived. The host went ahead and seated us and we were served drinks at our table. The service throughout the meal was excellent. The food was all very good. I was a little sad they were out of the foie gras but the beef carpaccio made up for it. The roasted chicken was moist and delicious. The price was very reasonable and cost less than $200 for the two of us. This is certainly a place I will consider visiting the next time I am in the city.

The receptionist was the best! The staff attentive. Some of the food was good... the bread divine. BUT... was sorely disappointed in their signature dish... Sole Meunière. Two of our party ordered that... it was tasty enough... but barely warm. The accompanying little potatoes almost cold on the inside. Another of our party had nice hot chicken, so the kitchen must have waited on that. We were just visiting the area, so no reason to return, although it is most attractive.

Overpriced and not that great. Went there because we had to be at NBC studios right after, but the food was mediocre. My salmon wasn't bad. The tuna tartare wasn't bad either but small (guest photos make it look bigger). Wine was also expensive there. $212 with tip for 2 seafood entrees, 2 seafood appetizers, and 4 glasses of wine. Will not be going back, there are plenty better restaurants in NYC.

Great place for a special lunch with our son during the holiday season. A bit noisy and crowded at first but then quieter down as the lunch crowd thinned out. Recommend getting there after 1 pm if you’d like a more quiet atmosphere. Menu and service was top notch.

Terrible. I will not return. I had reserved a table for an important business lunch. We were squashed into a tiny table between the front door and the servers’ station. The servers then rushed us through lunch. Food was nothing special. The restaurant has a good location next to Rockefeller Center but that is the best I can say about it.

We had dinner here before seeing the play Chicago. Greeted with smiles, sat with ease and couldn’t have picked a better place. They’ve been there 35 years and there’s maybe 15 tables in the place. It’s a small romantic dining room that makes you slow down and take it all in. Great find for us!

My wife and her friend purchased tickets for the Christmas Show at Radio City and had lunch at the Brasserie, which is located a block away from the theater. My wife uses a rollator to walk, so walking in NYC and being accommodated in some restaurants - especially with the massive crowds we experienced - could be challenging. However, the receptionist and the service personnel at the Brasserie were very accommodating and courteous and treated us exceptionally well.

The menu selections were excellent, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was energizing and the service was very good.

It was very exciting being in NYC - especially close to Rockefeller Center at Christmas. This is the third year in a row that my wife went to the Christmas Show at Rockefeller Center and the third year we had lunch at the Brasserie. We hope to continue this tradition for many years.

Best regards.

The restaurant was nearly empty, although it is across from the famous NY Christmas Tree and all the other places in and near Rock Center were brimming with holiday folk. There were a lot of staff hanging about, pushing wine. The food was horrible. My salmon was lukewarm and over done atop couscous that tasted like it came spiced as it was from a box. My companion had an enormous white plate of soft greasy noodles with pale white rabbit on top. Ugh. WIll never go back. Expensive and dreadful.

This was our second time at the restaurant. It was very busy. Service was excellent but it did take a while for out crab cakes to be served. They were delicious! However we also had the Brussels sprouts and they were not as tasty or crunchy as with our previous visit. Overall, everything was very good.
