Enjoy the casual elegance of this French brasserie, centrally located in New York’s Rockefeller Center. It’s a prime location for business lunches, relaxed dinners, holiday celebrations, theater go-ers and private events. Spring through Fall our large terrace is an ideal place to gather for dining and cocktails.
I brought my friend to the restaurant for the first time. I have been to the restaurant several times before. The hamburgers were undercooked and the waiter did not get our order correct. Also the waiter seemed uninterested in giving us good service. I have never had this problem before at the restaurant.
Brasserie Ruhlmann is a favorite of ours. Lovely location across the street from the Rockefeller Center Rink with a very nice outdoor patio. The food is excellent and the service is always efficient and friendly. The decor inside the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is a bit pricey but when you consider the location it is understandable. Highly recommended and if the weather is good the outdoor patio is lovely.
Nothing special. Just nice outside seating. Burgers weren't served with pickles even though they had pickles in the kitchen to serve with another dish.
It was a lovely warm day we sat outside and took in the scenery of Rockefeller Center. Food was great.
Top emplacement, top service et nous avons très bien mangé !!!
Quintessential New York Lunch.
Lucky to have had outside entertainment for Memorial Day Weekend. The perfect finish to the meal was the semisweet chocolate cake with black coffee, especially if you like a classic combo of hazelnut, caramel and chocolate.
service good. Food so-so. The hen of the woods mushroom had about 1/2 cup of oil soaked into it, terrible stomach ache afterward.
Always consistently excellent
Like being in a Brasserie in France
I love the shrimp/lobster roll also great sushi
The food, although simple and sometimes small in portion, is still good. But the service has dropped off significantly at BR, to the point where it is just not worth the aggravation. Soup served without a spoon, aperol spritz served with seltzer because they ran out of prosecco by 12:30 on Sunday (???) and the server was unwilling to substitute it with champagne (embarrassingly cheap), ONE tiny butter dish for five people, water glasses going unfilled for 10 minutes or more, half of the orders at the table came out incomplete or wrong, etc. When I made the captain aware of the deficiencies, he apologized but offered us nothing to improve our experience. It's time to give up on this place. It may be fine for tourists, but not good enough for locals.
Ive been to Ruhlman over 10 times. Food always tastes amazing at Ruhlman. However, I was dissapointed that you do not have the Croque Madame for sunday Brunch. Why wouldn't you? I went specifically to eat that and was disappointed. Also you should include more options for children. I made a reservation for 10 people and made the note for the table to be outside. When I arrived I was told that the restaurant couldn't fit a table for 10 outside and they were unable to put two tables together to accommodate me.
A bit too touristy with food and service that is on the bland side. We ate inside which had the benefit of being quiet but the outside on a sunny day has a nice view of Rockefeller Plaza and would be nice if you can reserve ahead of time. Great location, good for folks with hearing problems, classic old style brasserie ambiance.
I thought that the food was just ok for the super high prices that were charged. My lunch with 3 colleagues was over $200 with tip and 2 of us had tap water to drink
Convenient location and great atmosphere. Enjoyed the quiet, relaxed ambience for our evening meal. For entrees, my husband had the seared diver scallops and I had the grilled branzino, which were made to perfection. Wonderful service. Would have dined outside if weather was better.
We said under the huge umbrellas outside. Very pleasant until it started to pour and blow. They have really moved us to a table closer in away from the rain. Food was excellent. Two of us had croque madame and it came with fries and a salad. Almost too much to eat.
I would have raided this higher but we had to get up twice to ask for water after our table was moved. We hadn't been served yet so it wasn't for a refill
This was our second visit and we choose to return for the lobster roll. However this was dinner and it was not on the menu. We had a lovely crab dish instead. Overall a great choice for a pre-theatre dinner.
Great location made spectacular by the sunshine outside on the terrace, where we were seated. We were a party of 5 and the food varied from mediocre to good. Service was a bit slow, but that had to do with the kitchen rather than the waiter, who was attentive. All in all, go for the location and the ambience but not really for the food.
Good food very poor service, not worth it. Would never go there.
When we had dinner at this restaurant several months ago, we walked away unimpressed with the entire experience. On Easter Sunday, we decided to give it a second chance but it turned out to be a mistake. From the unfriendly server to the chef that refused to make my omelette with egg whites only, the brunch started on a sour note. The rest of the food we ordered were mediocre at best and the huevos rancheros I ordered instead of the omelette upset my stomach later in the day. I rarely write negative reviews but I felt compelled to do so this time.
Easter brunch at Brasserie Ruhlmann has become a tradition for us. It's delightful to sit on the patio when the weather cooperates. Our only complaint is that the tables on the patio are jammed together, with a lack of space, even by New York standards. If they would remove about 25% of the tables, it would be a much more pleasant experience.
It was a great place to dine before catching a concert at Radio City. The food was excellent and the setting outside of ROCKEFELLER Center was beautiful. We will definitely be back!
The staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Great food and service. I was very happy with the dining experience.
A wonderful dining experience for food and ambiance. The wait staff treats you as if you were a long time treasured client. The servings are beautifully presented. it is a perfect dining experience. if the weather is right, this is a wonderful spot for dining outside.
What a terrific review. You covered virtually every aspect of what we think a customer should be evaluating when choosing a business such as ours. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks again
We discovered Laurent Tourandol had a restaurant at Rockefeller Plaza in NYC and just had to try it. Not only was there a spectacular view and service, we experienced amazing cuisine that follows Laurent’s kitchens everywhere . We started with steak tartare that had a spicy kick which we loved. My son had the LT Burger that was so phenomenal we helped him finish since he is only five (sorry Charlie). I had the braised short ribs and my wife had the peppercorn filet and brussel sprouts. Since I helped finish my wife’s filet, I had to carry the leftover braised short ribs on the plane ride home (and bo, we don’t have a dog). The wine suggested went perfectly with the entire meal and we finished sharing an ice cream dessert that was also perfect. We can’t wait until we get to visit again!
Lovely restaurant , food was very good , staff was professional and attentive . Would definitely return next time visiting the NYC
Was not impressed at all with the service. I asked the bus boy 3 times to place my order, finally I had to flag down the manager to finally place my order. I told him I was waiting almost 30 minutes to order, he said they were waiting for the other members of my party, well if they bothered to check the reservation they would have seen that it was just me for this particular meal.
Had a great time but there is always room for improvement. Hence the 4 stars, would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The waiter Patricio was so gentle!! The food was great!
A classy restaurant. Good food and good service.
Painfully average food, painfully high price. Excellent service.
Met my daughter for dinner.
All was “ok” except the waiter had an attitude.
First time in my LIFE I undertipped.
I recently had lunch at Brasserie Ruhlmann, which was quite enjoyable. The food was very good and the environment relaxed with an old school style of brasserie elegance without any pretension. The service was capable, although a bit more graciousness would have been easy, noticeable, and welcome. It was a bit on the noisy side, but for better or worse this has become rather standard. So all in all, it was a very good place if one is looking for a place in the neighborhood, one to which I would certainly return, although not a place I would view as a destination.
The restaurant is well handled and the staff is lovely and attentive and we enjoyed the meal tremendously. One small problem they eliminated one of my all time favorite desserts which this year alone I had gone back to Brasserie Ruhlmann 4 times for their meal BUT MOSTLY For that desert.
Went yesterday and was told it was taken off the menu the horrors I almost died - PLEASE TELL THEM TO BRING BACK - THE PASSION FRUIT CREME BRULE with the Coconut Sorbet - Cookies and Merengue and the slices of Grapefruit - It was a slice of heaven in my mouth and one of the best things in this world - ever and they took it off the menu - please have them bring it back please -
Service was slow and there were only two tables with patrons. Food was fair. We had to keep raising our hand to get the servers attention.
Our party of three was welcomed immediately. We all enjoyed the beautiful grilled scallop special and the service was warm friendly.
Great business lunch spot. Bring back the Tuna BLT!
Great food, ambiance in Rock Center..the food is always good and the service too is reliable. A favorite!
Great / Perfect !
Very consistent experience. I like that they offer a variety of items from traditional French specialty to sushi, delicious lobster Cobb salad. Easy place to have a nice business meals!
