We chose Brasserie Ruhlman to celebrate a family milestone. Our server was having an off night, was distracted, disinterested, messed up orders. It happens. BUT to Brasserie Ruhlman's credit, we mentioned this to the hostess and they rallied. An additional server was assigned. The evening went from frustrating to fun and memorable as it was meant to be. And the food was delicious.

One of our favorite lunch spots. The salads and burgers are terrific. Service is quick and polite. The outdoor patio is great for people watching. I highly recommend the Boston Lettuce Salad!

We met family from overseas and booked a table for lunch at the last minute. The staff was very helpful and delighted to work with our every demand. We would definitely return next time we visit the city.

One of the consistently best restaurants in Manhattan. Never been disappointed.

Lovely view, great deco furnishings and great vibe...ok food...slooooooow oh so sloooooow service. Went on Friday afternoon before Memorial day. Had made a reservation to grab an outside table, under a sun umbrella and overlooking Rock Center was great. Ordered cocktails and lite bites. The only thing that came quickly was the check when it was time to leave. 25 minutes for a glass of wine (pour from a bottle - but the time felt like they went to pick the grapes, stomp, ferment and bottle) and another 15 for what seemed like pre-made sushi rolls and steak tartare (a gentle reminder ...both of those are raw - so no need to spend time to cook).
Anyway....go for the view, have some food and make an afternoon out of it - it's not for those who are time challenged

I seldom write reviews but after such a disappointing experience here, I want to warn anyone heading to this place to go somewhere else. With all of the wonderful eateries in NY, why waste one of your meals here????

The supposed grilled Branzino was total mush!!!! Icky, mushy fish. No doubt prepared hours in advance and then reheated. Horrid!

I felt sorry for the server. It wasn’t his fault but yet he did not offer anything to make it right though we expressed sincere disappointment. Shame on management that would evidently not empower servers to offer conciliatory substitutes or even desserts.

Last, it’s misleadingly called Brasserie... really!!!??? Come to find out from the server after we complained about having a curry infused sauce on the branzino, this was not a French restaurant at all but rather an “international” restaurant. Huh????????

We come to NY twice a year and usually always score with a great dining experience. So sorry we wasted this precious night in NY on this god-awful place.

Reservation for two, was originally placed tightly in the back between two other tables literally inches apart. Tough to discuss business in such cramped quarters. Ultimately asked to sit at the bar to have a little more space.

Overpriced, poor food quality, don’t recommend. Has nice outside seating and should be good for happy hour, but don’t expect much of the food. Butter had not taste, my fish was overcooked and sauce was too rich and didn’t taste great. The only part of the food that was enjoyable was dessert.

We were there on a Wednesday night so it wasn't overly crowded. Beautiful decor over looking Rockefeller Center. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. From the beef tartar and shirt ribs to sushi (yes sushi) to sumptuous desserts our dining experience was memorable.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant overlooking Rockefeller Plaza.

The bar was busy but amazingly the restaurant was quiet.

Menu was very typical of NYC so don’t expect any culinary surprises. What you do get is tasty, beautifully presented food with friendly service.

The location is very central and perfect after a long day of walking

Our food was absolutely amazing and the staff was very friendly. It wasn’t very busy in the restaurant which was nice because it wasn’t too noisy, but the ambiance would have been enhanced if the restaurant was busier because it is a large restaurant.

That to be said, I will be dreaming about the Wiener schnitzel (a special on Thursdays) for years to come. The most authentic rendition I’ve ever had outside of Europe. Loved it!

My friend and I visited Brasserie Ruhlmann for drinks & food before a concert. It was close to Radio City and I knew it wouldn't be packed. We sat at the bar and had fantastic service and great conversation with Maryanne (bartender)). She made great martinis and was very friendly. The host (Raoul) was the perfect gentleman. He came over to ask how we were doing more than once which was very nice of him. We shared the yellow fin tuna tacos, the mini croques, the hand cut fries and the fried rock shrimp. I wish the tuna tacos had more flavor but everything else was great. I would repeat my order (minus the tacos) and maybe try a sushi roll the next time. Aside from the food, the restaurant was clean and staff well kept. They could use an update on the bathroom decor but overall, no complaints. The bar chairs were incredibly comfortable!! The restaurant was completely empty when we left but I wasn't shocked as the area is quiet after the holidays. This will definitely be my go-to spot before concerts!!

We went on a Saturday night we were one of 5 tables occupied. The place was dead, our waitress said no one comes during the weekend which we didn’t know. We normally have lunch there which is very good.

She even said they shouldn’t be open during the weekend. I wouldn’t recommend dining here on weekend nights. The food was average not very many options if you are gluten free or a Vegetarian.

Although I had made a reservation 6 weeks in advance, we were seated at a table that is essentially for walk ins and is situated near a main the alleyway for guests and waiters to move around - we were constantly bumped and pushed in to. Management was beyond rude and argued with me in front of my business guests when I requested to be moved to another more convinient table. They claimed they "called me" which is true but in their voicemails confirming the reservation there was no mention that we would be seated at the worst table in the entire restaurant. I used to be a proud patron of the restaurant in the past but will never take anyone there again and will not return- the staff needs a training on how to behave and respond respectfully to guests and there needs to be much clearer policy around where guests will be seated when they do/ do not make reservations. I felt belittled and extremely disrespected by the hostess and the manager. Horrible experience.
