Brasserie Provence Ratings and Reviews
We dine here often and are always pleased with each experience. On this visit, there was a large corporate group who took up much of our servers time. She was challenged to check on us as often as usual, but we understood this to be unusual. Great drinks, wonderful food, deserts to die for, table by the fireplace on a cold night, a knowledgeable and charming server...what more could you want? We’ll be back soon!
We were greeted immediately by a very friendly hostess. The lunch menu had many selections and we chose the soup and sandwich combo which was surprisingly reasonable. There is a nice wine list with many French wines. The food was promptly served and pleasing in presentation. Every morsel was delicious!! During nice weather, there is nice seating outside. Definitely one of our new favorite places!
Service was great, atmosphere was good, food tasted good, but the portions for the entre' was not what I would expect for the price. A much cheaper restaurant would have dolled out twice the size. Overall, a good experience and will, most likely, visit again.
Excellet food and service. The owner visits each patron.
The owner served our Chateaubriand, and the waiter was very attentive.
Select this place for a romatic anniversary, an evening business dinner, or just the night out.
Definitely worth the time and price.
We always enjoy dining here. Guy and his crew know exactly how to make your every dining experience wonderful. Not only is the food wonderful but an extensive wine list is fun to peruse. We asked for help with the wine selection for the evening and were directed to a french burgundy. It was wonderful. We had a great evening.
We cannot say enough great things about Brasserie Provence. This was our third visit. When we ordered the calamari appetizer, our waiter recommended fromages instead of the cast iron mushrooms we started to order - he was right; the fromages perfectly complemented the calamari. Each couple ordered the Chateaubriand for two. It was worth the wait. The staff brought out the dishes and prepared our plates at the table, making it all very special. The beef tenderloin melted in your mouth. The gratin dauphinois, provencale tomato, and asparagus were delicious. Our friends ordered the haricots verts and ratatouille and ate every bite. We were celebrating a birthday. The wait staff went out of their way to make it a special occasion by bringing a piece of cake with a candle and forks for each of us. All in all, it was a delightful evening. We look forward to our next visit.
This is an outstanding Southern French restaurant which means the ingredients are fresh and instead of the thick sauces of Parisian style, all is freshly integrated tastes without much seasoning. However; the chef really knows how to blend natural foods together for a very nice meal. Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant for a special occasion or date. Table was ready and met criteria we had asked for through Open Table. Price was moderate and very good for the high quality of the service and food.
This was our fifth time, and it seems they get better each time. Our servers Jeff and Jessica were outstanding, they are knowledgeable about wine and the food they serve. And Guy the owner is always a pleasure to see and talk with.
We were with another couple and it was their first time here, and they loved it. They had the special for the night, which was kabobs with filet and shrimp, which they both enjoyed. My wife had the Ruby Red trout, she said it was done perfectly, and I had the rack of lamb which was great and cooked the way I like it.
Nicoise salad was light on potatoes, eggs, dressing and tomatoes and was made with canned tuna; totally uninspiring; what you'd expect from a deli, not a first-rate restaurant
Chewy escagot, no toast points, light on butter and garlic
Roast chicken was fairly tasty but overpriced at $23 given that it was a leg/thigh
Martini on the notably small side made with house vodka @ $12 seems steep
Will not be back.
We love Provence, and we used a Groupon this time, so we ordered a lovely bottle of wine. The waitress gave us a suggestion, and she was absolutely correct. The bottle was wonderful. We split the watermelon/tomato salad, and it was divine. The balsamic reduction was perfect. I had the bouillabaisse, and it was terrific. My husband had the steak, and it was perfectly cooked. We both treated ourselves to dessert, a raspberry tiriamisu. The restaurant is quiet, and the ambiance is relaxed. A great place for fine dining and special occasions.
This is one of the most underrated restaurants in Louisville. The food is outstanding, the service spot on, and the menu changes often enough that there is always an excellent variety based upon very fresh ingredients The portions are good sized and their châteaubriand is the best I have ever had. It is the finest cut of beef in the region and the sauce is amazing.
