Just save your self the trouble of hand wringing over the menu and get the pork chop and the lamb shank. I repeat, if you want a 4-5 star meal just stick with those two dishes. Everything else is in a lessor league and will have you lamenting the heftiness of your tab. But the pork and the lamb will have you thinking you got a steal.
The restaurant was very pretty and cozy. Food and wine was delicious and a good size portion. Didn't love the fact that they kept trying to clear off the table so much. Made me feel like I was being rushed. Other than that great experience!
Excellent food, friendly service, and conducive to a fun gathering.
We went for Mother’s Day and they presented a set menu of 3 courses. There were at least 4 choices for each course making it hard to choose. I started with the Salmon Eggs Benedict which had a perfectly cooked poached egg with smoked salmon on top a crispy English muffin. A very light bernaise sauce was the perfect touch. Absolutely delicious.
My second course I had Grilled salmon on top of a Mushroom Risotto which was to die for. The salmon was crispy on the outside and super moist on the inside. And the risotto was al dente, while creamy with mushrooms that were super fresh.
My finishing course did not disappoint (although I was seriously Full) and I couldn’t keep myself from devouring the Key Lime Pie. And I can’t omit the French Press Coffee (delivered in a French Press at the table) which was just as substantial as all the food and details of my excellent meal!!!
The best! Have eaten here several times and the food and service are always excellent! Saturday night before Mother's Day was no exception... ribeye was perfect... shrimp pasta couldn't have been any better. Thank you for another great experience and we'll be back soon!
Service 10 out of 10. Portions were great. Sea bass was excellent!
Foie Gras was outstanding. Wine was great. Nice atmosphere and attentive service. Menu was extensive and portions was not too big. We split the Chateaubrian 3 ways and it was more than enough.
Truly lovely experience. We plan to return with friends and family.
Great food, wine , craft cocktails and desserts . Quiet and relaxing atmosphere and servers are FIRST RATE . Don’t miss an opportunity for a flawless and enjoyable dining experience . No booming intercom noise either !! Parking is also uncomplicated.
We had originally written a mixed review. We loved the food but had a couple problems with service and requesting a table change that was handled poorly. Well I am rewriting the review because the owner (he was absent the night we were there) reached out right away and was apologetic and offered to make amends. I am very impressed that he did so. We will give it another chance. Food was great
Fish was over cooked.
Was taken off bill but was a disappointing experience.
Brought my Mother to dinner for Mother’s Day.
She had to send her meal back.
We were there a week ago on Saturday night and it was perfect.
It was my birthday celebration, derby day. I chose this place for a specific dish. The menu on derby day was specific and did not include the chateaubriand that I was looking for. The staff informed the owner, and he came to the table, wished me a happy birthday, and offered to make the dish I craved. It was phenomenal, and I enjoyed every moment. I thank the owner and remember the experience that made my birthday perfect. Will go again, would recommend. Thank you!!!!
Was very pleased with service and meal. A little pricey even with the Kentucky Derby. Found owner to be a little rough around the edges.
Derby dinner was outstanding! Host was very personable. Waiter could of used more training
The food was interesting and delicious. We had a great time.
Fabulous food with great ambiance! Wonderful wine list. And we love 1/2 price wine on Monday night!
The food was good, and our group of eight had a good time.
This is a hidden gem. Great food; with solid daily items.
The staff are fantastic and knowledgeable.
Very accommodating to a party with changing numbers.
Very nice, very french
Good but expensive
This review only relates to Easter 2019 . Been to Brasserie other times and it was excellent.
Easter Sunday was a reduced menu - Three choices each for appetizer, main course and dessert. Reservations wee required. We booked 1:15. We were seated promptly. At 3PM we had been served only our appetizer. Wed ended up finishing around 3:45.
Service was not very good - adequate I suppose. Certainly not friendly or attentive. Had to ask three times for a glass of wine. We were served desserts without any silverware - So we just sat for 5 minutes staring at one another until we grabbed a passing bus person. Very little acknowledgement of the delay until the owner came over at around 3:15 right as main course was served.. He did offer a free glass of wine.
Food was OK, certainly much more of an institutional feel with the fixed menu. I had the lamb dish and sides were bland, lamb was small and not really flavorful. Could have been any protein really. No one at the table of six felt the meal was worth the cost and wait.
Definitely not doing Easter 2020 at Brasserie.
This brunch has become one of our annual events. Beautiful restaurant and decor, fantastic food always prepared perfectly, a wonderful host/owner Guy Geroud who makes every table feel special, service that is spot on, a great wine selection (we had Whispering Angel rose this day). I wish more people would come and visit this place and see what they are missing! We also love the wine dinners and various tastings they do every month.
Another wonderful experience - this time with the Easter 3-course Brunch. Delicious salmon with risotto and snow peas, refreshing spring salad with white balsamic dressing. Nice wine recommendation - an Alsatian white "Hugo" that was crisp and refreshing. Friendly and efficient service from our server, Tom.
Absolutely perfect. Nothing short of perfect @ Brasserie Provence- we always enjoy it in so many ways and always come away feeling we’ve really BEEN SOMEPLACE where we can be ourselves in a relaxed & elegant setting. Food is outstanding. Service just the way you’d like it - attentive bug never intrusive.
We continue to enjoy dining at Brasserie Provence. They have an outstanding wine selection, service has always been very good and the food consistently good. The menu does not change much but all of the items on it are good. I would recommend this dining for any occasion, lunch or dinner.
BEST FRENCH FOOD AND SERVICE IN THE AREA!
We were disappointed. The menu "reads" great, but the execution of the dishes was average, at best. The lamb was very tender, but not much seasoning. The duck was cooked perfectly, but really had no flavor. The Coq au Vin was a little dry and over salted.
My wife and I have had many fine meals at BP but the most recent was the best. The bluefin tuna was marvelous. I will also note, for review readers with food allergies, that my wife, who suffers from same, has always found the staff to be understanding and flexible with regard to on-the-fly preparations of dishes without the ingredients that give her trouble.
The food was extremely good as was the wine service. I enjoyed the steak and frites (remember the hanger cut is not the most tender but it is tasty and affordable) and my friend thought the trout was excellent. Note to hostess: Please do not give women who dine together inferior tables.
The wife had the lavender Porkchop,I had the chefs creation bluefin. Both were excellent and suggest you try the restaurant.
Terrific food plus excellent service Cote de Rhône Village wonderful wine
Bouillabaisse lovely with good seasoning Steake frites better than my favorite French restaurant in Chicago Who knew? Well worth our 20 minute ride from downtown. Would come back tho long ride from Jackson MS
Always great food and wine selection. Staff is friendly and attentive.
The service was very good and most of the food was very good. The desert was not good at all. It was a small piece of cake with a pear in it. The cake was very dry and not good.
This is my go to for taking good friends to celebrate their anniversary. Always a treat.
This was our first time at the restaurant, food, wine and service were outstanding, we look forward to returning.
I always enjoy my visits to this wonderful restaurant. The menu choices are varied and the food is always good. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
Outstanding! A great evening with impeccable, friendly and conscientious service. Simply put, this is a top-drawer dining spot with a true allegiance to fine French food and wine. A go-to favorite!
Brasserie Provence is a great place to have lunch with friends - it's quiet enough to chat, the atmosphere is unhurried, and the food and service is great!
We have become Monday regulars for half priced wine night. Food and service are always good.
The service was excellent. I little disappointed in the size of the salad and amount of soup that came with the lunch combo special.
