Very nice dining experience for 4. Only issue was extremely small table made it difficult to have room for wine glasses, water glasses, appetizers, etc. For appetizers we shared the goat cheese tart (very good) and raviolis (excellent). For dinner, everyone picked something different - pork chop, salmon, hanger steak, and the chef's special swordfish. The real winner of the group was the pork chop. Wine selections are excellent. We skipped dessert. Check for 4 (with appetizers, entree's, and 2 bottles of wine) came out to be about $250. Very reasonable considering the ambience, quality of food, service, and uniqueness. Excellent choice if you want something other than the typical American Bistro experience.
First time visit to this restaurant. We ate outside. It was not crowded. The weather was good. The service was excellent. Had appetizers, wine and main course. All very good. For us, the price range is in “special occasion” category, but it was a special occasion, so that was fine. Topped off by complementary dessert for the birthday boy. Will definitely return.
I wish I could remember our server's name because she was absolutely wonderful. We had three cocktails, two appetizers, two entrees, and two desserts. All of it was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It was the best meal I've had and was the perfect place for a date night.
My first time visiting Brasserie Provence, won't be my last. It is an inconspicuous place which, in my opinion, enhances it's charm. The friendliness, service, food, ambiance & value are excellent.
We enjoyed the visit. Both of us ordered the Hangar steak and thought it was tough though it was cooked to middle rare as requested. The green salad that accompanied it was marvelous. It also came with frittes (french fries) which I thought downplayed the meal and would have been better with the potato fingerings. I will try the seafood on my next visit. The service was just right!
Dinner at Provence was a delightful experience. Our hostess made sure that we had a table with a good view, our server was attentive without being pushy, and our meals were superb. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the evening's beef special, and my tuna salad nicoise was probably the best I've had in quite a long time. A great spot for an elegant dining experience.
The mushroom appetizer is outstanding!! Great go-to neighborhood restaurant!
What an enjoyable evening. The foie gras and tomato tart was a wonderful start to our meal. The wine was lovely and the wait staff was attentive and helpful with the menu. We would go back again.
This is one of Louisville's best restaurants, with an outstanding menu, extraordinary preparation and attention to flavor and detail. The menu is "pricey", but every cent we spent was right there on the plate. You get what you pay for, and my money was well spent. Our service might have been a bit quicker, but this is an observation and not a complaint. Tom knew every ingredient on the menu and made absolutely no mistakes. I want to eat here every week, TWICE!
We celebrated my birthday here. The atmosphere was terrific and the staff were so kind and thoughtful! We will definitely be going back. The food was amazing as well.
The food was delicious and the French band was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.
Visited during their Bastille Day celebration and it was such a treat! Great food, service and ambiance.
We had a really enjoyable time. French music and Bastille Day specials added to the experience. Shirley was a friendly and engaging server. We ordered the ravioli and goat cheese tort appetizers - scrumptious. I had the "Steak and Cake" special - so tasty. The others in my party had the pork chop and trout, respectively. Everyone cleaned their plates. The Bastille Day dessert featured a candied Eiffel Tower! This is one of my favorite places in Louisville, for sure.
Wonderful. Started with appetizer of mushrooms and toast, French onion soup. Both very good (the cheese on the soup was so fresh). Chateaubriand for two, hanger steak and pork chop for main course. Perfectly cooked and scrumptious! Chris was our server… a true professional, we will ask for him by name in the future. The owner serves the Chateaub. table side. A+++
Fabulous experience as always! One of the best restaurants in Louisville.
Hostess Attempted to seat my son and I at a two top next to a couple rather than an open two top with plenty of distance. The Hostess did honor my request for the more private table.
Server took my unused salad fork (last remaining in front of me) without asking and insisted she’d return with another “dinner” fork. The meal arrived within two minutes, which necessitated me getting up and grabbing a “set up” from an adjacent empty table. The server returned five minutes later, oblivious, and asked how my entry was prepared. Now I understand why it was the only 7-7:15 pm reservation available in the eastend that nite.
I drove t0 Louisville from Muncie, IN to meet my son who was driving from Nashville because we love this restaurant.
Lovely atmosphere , excellent service, and the chateaubriand was amazing.
The service was great. The food was delicious! Very nice atmosphere.
Escargot was excellent. Shrimp dish was average. Hanger steak was very tough, so I quit after 3 bites. Disappointing. Frites were excellent. Key Lime Tort was great. Chocolate cake was very dry. Overall, disappointing.
We had booked our date on the patio, but due to weather they were able to accommodate us and get us placed inside. Overall all I was happy with the experience and my family and I will return.
I met clients there for dinner - their first time there. The restaurant had several open tables, but we had a reservation so we were seated right away. My friends ordered appetizers - it took awhile for them to come out (about 20 minutes). Then it was another 30 minutes before the dinner came out. We were enjoying conversation, so it wasn't a big deal. But I think it's overpriced - extra $3.00 to make a substitution? I don't like asparagus, but didn't want my friends to have to pay $3.00 more for me to get something else. Everyone seemed to like their dinner and they liked the restaurant overall. The server apologized over and over regarding the wait for our dinner and it was a nice evening.
One of our favorite restaurants was on point last night. Chris was an excellent waiter.
Great food and service. Always enjoy going to Brasserie Provence.
We tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. The food, service and drinks were top notch. We’ll be going back
We had a quiet table for two outside on the patio. It was a wonderful night and the food was outstanding. The iron skillet mushrooms were absolutely fantastic. The Aji tuna was served very rare and was also perfect. Good food, Good wine, and a good time.
First visit, and extremely impressed! From the welcome to the overall dining experience, our group of 6 couldn't find a single thing that didn't impress us. The menu selections were extensive, and my wife's vegan requirements were met with seriousness and professionalism. Our group all had appetizers, salads and entrees. From the seafood to the beef to the lamb... to the vegan selections, everything was absolutely wonderful. Suggestion -- get name tags for the wait staff. I like to call people by their names, and after a brief introduction at the table, we forgot the name of our excellent waiter.
Shirley, our waitress, was wonderful. Fre
That staff was incredibly friendly and the food was outstanding. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and I would highly recommend it.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary at Brasserie Provence. The host wished us a happy anniversary on our arrival, as did the owner/manager a little later. They even brought us a complimentary chocolate dessert with a candle to make our evening even more special.
The food was delicious as always.
A beautiful and magical experience. Outstanding food without being overly fussy, and the staff made us feel like we were regulars from the moment we walked in. We were celebrating our anniversary and are already planning our next date night.
Beautiful place run by beautiful people. The restaurant owner is always on the floor and makes sure that the patrons get the highest level of service. It is our go to place for special occasions.
Five of us had a wonderful post-pandemic reunion lunch and we stayed for more than three hours! No one hovered over us suggesting they wanted us to leave but instead let us continue to enjoy ourselves. Much appreciated!
The grilled pork chops were excellent.
But the escargot was not up to my expectations.
I had only been there once before when it first opened and wasn’t overly impressed, Hence had not been back till our friends/clients asked if we could go there. Everything about it was top notch.
lovely restaurant and attentive staff. food was delicious
The food was superb. It's unusual for every item on your plate to be outstanding but my filet mignon dinner was just that.
Shirley was a wonderfully attentive server. And Gaelan was incredibly personable and treated us like VIPs. This is our favorite restaurant in town, by far.
Food great. Spot on flavors, cooked to perfection and overly generous portions. Authentic, quality ingredients. Impressed by things that are usually not noticed including the quality of the place settings, French motif appetizer plates and Laguiole steak knives. They immediately acknowledged our birthday celebration and capped the evening with warm chocolate birthday cake. We would be frequent customers if we lived in Louisville!
Food was great, server was very nice. As with every place right now, they seemed a bit short staffed and food took longer to come out. But the wine was flowing and it was nice to just relax and take our time.
