I started with the best onion soup in the region. Since it was half-price wine night - we got a bottle of rose - Whispering Angel. So nice.
Enjoyed a garden salad and French bread right before getting a fantastic portion of grilled salmon on top of a hearty chunk of polenta and some tasty carrots. The salmon melted in my mouth and was almost enough for two people. I shall have a salmon omelet tomorrow morning with the leftovers. Since it was my wife's birthday, Guy - owner - served us a molten chocolate dessert that finished beautifully. Truly high quality French in every way and so comfortable to dine with every detail attentively taken acre of. Love this place.
Derby night dinner for 4 of us. We had a 7:15 reservation thinking the derby would be run earlier, but they were very understanding & let us show up “whenever we got there”.
We had calamari for an appetizer & then French onion soup & the special halibut with jalapeño sauce. Loved the soup!
The halibut was nice as well. Service was good too. It was nice that we were able to enjoy derby without rushing, Thanks to the staff!
Visiting Louisville for the first time, my wife (who is French) wanted to go somewhere that offered French cuisine and she was not disappointed. In fact, everyone in our group of 6 people were so happy with the menu choices and extremely pleased with the quality of the food and wine. We would definitely recommend to anyone to go to this restaurant when you are in the mood for exceptional French food (and practicing your French with the staff there).
Wonderful food and beautiful presentation!
Great time. Staff was very friendly. Food was superb
Very attentive wait staff, delicious food. Overall 10/10 dining experience.
Great service and delicious food!
Wonderful experience! Tiffany was an outstanding, well-knowledged server!!
On the positive side, the Vin d'Orange and French Onion soup are terrific. Calamari very good, but no flavor in the dips. Nice olive app. Salad dressing was lacking in flavor. Good burger; salmon and scallops tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. For a 2 1/2 hour dinner (no dessert or coffee), I expect more. Service was sketchy. Tables seated after us left half an hour earlier, and they had dessert.
This is one of our go-to places in Louisville--GREAT FOOD, SERVICE AND AMBIANCE!
Guy is a very hands on owner and he stops by your table to check on how things are going. The goat cheese tart is an incredible appetizer--the pork chop with lavender honey--total foodgasm. My wife ordered the tuna and it was yummy. The desserts are delicious!!! Bravo again!!!
GREAT DINNER, GREAT PRICES, GREAT AMBIENCE. WE'LL BE REGULARS
This is a classy restaurant with wonderful service, welcoming friendly staff & wonderful food that is presented beautifully. It does have one area that keeps it from being first class however. To charge for bread, splitting meals & even for splitting a salad is cheap, distasteful & simply stated low class. I will definitely return, but find this feature in poor taste. Why not simply charge a dollar more for entrees & skip the extra charges for what should be included in a first class restaurant anyway?
Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and fine service.
Food and service were ok but not what I would expect from an upscale restaurant. Chairs were uncomfortable, and the noise level made it somewhat difficult to converse easily.
Unfriendly, very slow, and inattentive service. Inflexible on food alterations to accommodate needs. Very small portions for appetizers. Entrées were good and presented well, but not worth the price. Overall, disappointed. Likely will not return.
Excellent dishes, the staff was friendly and happy to explain each dish. Quiet and beautiful setting. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with a small chocolate cake that said "happy anniversary" and had a candle.
Great meal, great service. We had a few girls out for lunch, and it was amazing like usual. Thanks for another enjoyable meal.
My husband and I had a wonderful meal!
Thanks to Tom for making it extra special!
Great place to celebrate a special occasion! Delicious food, wonderful service, and very nice ambiance. Accommodating in all areas.
The owner, Guy Denoud, runs an outstanding and fine dining establishment, perfect for a date or special occasions. The food is amazing and the service is the best!
Always an outstanding meal at Brasserie Provence! We are never disappointed here. They are also very accommodating to my need for gluten free food, and even provide GF bread to accompany the meal!
Dined with myself and three others, everybody enjoyed their food, no complaints from them. I ordered the Honey Glazed Lavender Pork Chop, it was very delectable, cooked properly and very succulent, but perhaps a bit too sweet? Would've liked to taste a bit more of the lavender, but overall still very good. It was paired with top notch creamy au gratin skillet potatoes and ratatouille, very delicious. We all had the Creme Brulee for dessert, probably the best in town, I could have eaten two! The server was courteous, could've been a bit more engaging. He came back to the table just enough for me not to have to flag him down for another drink. Servers at restaurants like these should recommend wine pairings. Overall great food, nice dining experience, perhaps a bit pricey. I would recommend it if you're looking for quality French Cuisine, a nice dinner date, or anniversary.
Wonderful as always. Such a nice Easter experience for my family.
Easter Brunch was incredible! Everyone in our party was impressed with the selections, portion size, and deliciousness!! We will definitely be going back.
Excellent service and food. Enjoyed it immensely.
Outstanding food and ambience! One of the best restaurants in Louisville.
Five in our party, and all were happy with appetizers, meals, desserts, and drinks.
Our favorite restaurant in Louisville.
I allays enjoy are dinners at Brasserie Provence. The service is good and not bothersome. Great place to take clients and guest.
Took my dad out for his birthday. This year was particularly special since he's older during this pandemic and a chemo patient. Brasserie Provence felt extremely safe, taking all necessary precautions and more. Food was amazing, Chris was a wonderful waiter. Overall great experience that made my dad feel special, thanks to this wonderful restaurant.
Wonderful French food in a nice place. The outside tables were very simple, can't wait to be able to eat inside
Perfect! Excellent meal and experience.
Good meal, friendly waiter and nice owner who visited our table. While the wine list was nice we would of enjoyed some indepth descriptions as to what wines to pair with our meal. The Chateaubriand was cook perfect and delicious. The size of the Chateaubriand blow us away! The potato gratin was excellent, cheesy, potatoes soft with a firm bite. The Arugula salad worked well to cleanse the pallet with the tart, fresh greens and light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. We had plenty of Chateaubriand to take home and made for a great leftover dinner. Would recommend Brasserie Provence for a nice evening, special occasion or because you enjoy French prepared dishes.
Had the fish lent Friday special. Tartar sauce is house place and delicious. Fries as always were great. Includes fish sandwich, fries, salad a d soft drink or tea for 12 dollars. Such a lovely lunch.
The scallops I had were cooked to perfection. Very creamy creme brûlée. The waiter was attentive, but let us talk. We think they overheard it was our friend’s birthday and they brought a cake for her to celebrate. I highly recommend for a date night or friends get together or a special occasion.
Was here for lunch on a Thursday. Enjoyed the customer appreciation month of 1/2 wine. Have always enjoyed the excellent food. Never a poor meal. The ambiance also adds to the enjoyment of a great meal and bottle of wine to sit relax and enjoy good conversation with friends
We had a terrific dinner, including calamari, roasted mushrooms, steak frites, rack of lamb, lemon tart, and chocolate cake. The food was all delicious, and you should definitely get a bread basket too, as their French bread is marvelous. The music was soft and nice, and the ambience is very good in this pretty restaurant, and they are careful to follow all safety measures.
This was our first time and it won’t be our last! Amazing service and a very unique ambiance. We love the French restaurant in Disney World and this reminded us a lot of it!
My friend and I had a wonderful lunch on Wednesday!
Yummy cocktails , My mussel entree was delicious ! The desserts fabulous!
We will be back !!!!!!
Excellent food, specially their onion soup
