Good but expensive
Another wonderful experience - this time with the Easter 3-course Brunch. Delicious salmon with risotto and snow peas, refreshing spring salad with white balsamic dressing. Nice wine recommendation - an Alsatian white "Hugo" that was crisp and refreshing. Friendly and efficient service from our server, Tom.
Absolutely perfect. Nothing short of perfect @ Brasserie Provence- we always enjoy it in so many ways and always come away feeling we’ve really BEEN SOMEPLACE where we can be ourselves in a relaxed & elegant setting. Food is outstanding. Service just the way you’d like it - attentive bug never intrusive.
We continue to enjoy dining at Brasserie Provence. They have an outstanding wine selection, service has always been very good and the food consistently good. The menu does not change much but all of the items on it are good. I would recommend this dining for any occasion, lunch or dinner.
BEST FRENCH FOOD AND SERVICE IN THE AREA!
We were disappointed. The menu "reads" great, but the execution of the dishes was average, at best. The lamb was very tender, but not much seasoning. The duck was cooked perfectly, but really had no flavor. The Coq au Vin was a little dry and over salted.
My wife and I have had many fine meals at BP but the most recent was the best. The bluefin tuna was marvelous. I will also note, for review readers with food allergies, that my wife, who suffers from same, has always found the staff to be understanding and flexible with regard to on-the-fly preparations of dishes without the ingredients that give her trouble.
The food was extremely good as was the wine service. I enjoyed the steak and frites (remember the hanger cut is not the most tender but it is tasty and affordable) and my friend thought the trout was excellent. Note to hostess: Please do not give women who dine together inferior tables.
The wife had the lavender Porkchop,I had the chefs creation bluefin. Both were excellent and suggest you try the restaurant.
Terrific food plus excellent service Cote de Rhône Village wonderful wine
Bouillabaisse lovely with good seasoning Steake frites better than my favorite French restaurant in Chicago Who knew? Well worth our 20 minute ride from downtown. Would come back tho long ride from Jackson MS
Always great food and wine selection. Staff is friendly and attentive.
The service was very good and most of the food was very good. The desert was not good at all. It was a small piece of cake with a pear in it. The cake was very dry and not good.
This is my go to for taking good friends to celebrate their anniversary. Always a treat.
This was our first time at the restaurant, food, wine and service were outstanding, we look forward to returning.
I always enjoy my visits to this wonderful restaurant. The menu choices are varied and the food is always good. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
Outstanding! A great evening with impeccable, friendly and conscientious service. Simply put, this is a top-drawer dining spot with a true allegiance to fine French food and wine. A go-to favorite!
Brasserie Provence is a great place to have lunch with friends - it's quiet enough to chat, the atmosphere is unhurried, and the food and service is great!
We have become Monday regulars for half priced wine night. Food and service are always good.
The service was excellent. I little disappointed in the size of the salad and amount of soup that came with the lunch combo special.
This was our first time dining here and we were very pleased. The wine and food recommendations were spot on.
Excited to be back in Louisville and eat at Brassiere Provence again. Wonderful Sole Meuniere with asparagus and rice. Flaky and buttery - lived up to expectations. Attentive and friendly service, par usual. Appreciated the wine recommendation that was right on (photo). Bananas foster and French-press coffee were perfect endings to the meal.
I love how nice and quiet the restaurant is so I can have good conversation in a relaxed environment. And the food and hospitality are always exceptional.
I always have a great experience here, this is my go to place for the great service, great food, affordable restaurant. I am shocked that it is not full every night! If you have not tried Brasserie Provence I would recommend it.
I’ve been here a couple of times and each experience has been wonderful. The food is always good and chef’s creation was amazing. We enjoy how cozy and inviting it feels while dining. Friendly owner and staff. The experience was completely satisfying.
Very nice experience; friends from Chicago were very impressed with food ambiance and wine selection. Recommend as regular place for casual or fine dining. Guy is always hospitable and helpful in accomadating guests.
We were there on a night when a singer performed. Her voice was lovely and it added so much atmosphere. My husband always has a hamburger which is the best in town. I opted for steak frites and substituted tomatoes provencal for the frites. If I weren't on WeightWatchers, I wouldn't have done that! I was disappointed in the tomatoes. In spite of that, it was a very enjoyable meal and evening.
As always, the space is tasteful and inviting, service is knowledgeable and unobtrusive, and the menu is imaginative and varied. The dishes are all well prepared and presented. Wonderful dinners in wonderful surroundings.
Loved it! Monday half price bottle night is great. All of our dishes were delicious! Would definitely go back.
The food was terrific and our server took excellent care of us. We had a great night.
I had a great time and enjoyed the meal and service.
Nice relaxing venue...had a lovely meal built around their starter menu and some lovely French Malbec. Provence has a real handle on controlling sound...can easily have private conversation at a table w/o resorting to loud voices.
Consistent and good as always
To sum it up in one word “AWESOME”. The food, service and atmosphere was awesome.
We ordered escargot expecting a delicious texture and a woodsy flavor instead a received a tasteless escargot that I could have purchased in amazon.
I was looking for a rich and filling, elegant and elaborate with a good presentation. Perhaps I need to try the other French restaurant in the area .
Dear Juan, there are many recipes for escargots. Ours includes oven-roasted Burgundy snails, Pernod and walnut garlic butter. We're sorry that you did not enjoy our appetizer, but if you had told us that you were not happy with the dish, we would have replaced it with something else. Guest satisfaction is our priority, but we cannot remedy a situation that we do not know about. Please call me at 502.883.3153 as you gave Provence 2-stars without adding anything else about your experience.
Bill always gets a burger and he's always happy! I had a lunch combo with piston and mini sandwich of the day which was roast beef. It was scrumptious! Service, as always, was friendly and efficient. Can't wait to come back.
Outstanding, as always!
We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. Our server, Tommy was exceptional. Please pass that on to him.
We were initially really excited to try Brasserie Provence for Valentine’s Day but upon arriving saw there was a fixed menu with a set 3-course meal. This would be fine had we known this when setting the reservation and been prepared for the much heftier price tag that would come along with the meal. However we are apparently young and naive, and didn’t realize restaurants tend to do that for special occasions. (I now understand this is commonplace and will be more careful in the future- would probably rather just celebrate V-Day late and have access to the normal menu and pricing. ) Once seatws, we decided to just enjoy the meal and not worry about the money. This would’ve been easier to do had our service been worth the $200 price tag that came along with dinner; our server was adequate, but didn’t check in on us as we would’ve hoped for the occasion; my wife needed a refill on water almost midway through the meal but that was never replenished, and the service and music in the restaurant just wasn’t worthy of what we paid for the experience. Overall it was a semi-disappointing meal as we had looked over the regular menu and been excited to try several items for our first time to the restaurant, and would’ve been happy to get appetizers and drinks and the decently priced normal entrees. But instead we ended up spending almost an entire months’ grocery budget on one night with service and overall feeling of being taken advantage of and feeling duped :/ we probably won’t be back.
Dear David, I am sorry that you were disappointed in your dining experience on V-Day. However when your reservation was made on Open Table, you were clearly notify at that moment that we were only serving a 3-course dinner at $75 per person, and also you were requested to input a credit card to hold the reservation and therefore you received a confirmation stipulating that you will be charged $75 per person if you were a no show. We never have an intention to dupe our guests. Thank you, Guy
The entire meal was wonderful! And Tommy was as personable and nice as always. It was like meeting up with a long time friend.
