Brasserie Provence Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit, and we were celebrating Valentine's Day. The experience was less than we were expecting. Interaction with our server was awkward; however, we noticed servers at other tables provided the level of service we were expecting. Overall, the food was good, but the steak I ordered medium-well was served medium-rare. Everything was just ok, not necessarily a negative experience, just not anything to make us want to come back.
We made last minute reservations for a dinner date with friends. We love this place. It feels fancy but is really a very comfortable dining spot. It is not loud so we could hear our companions and didn't have to shout to be heard like it is in so many restaurants. Our server was cute and funny. She did an excellent job and was not intrusive. Our food was excellent as always here. Two of ordered the mussels, bouillabaisse and chicken for our unadventurous pallet.
Brasserie Provence is one of my top three restaurants in Louisville. I dine in a lot of establishments and it takes a lot to impress me. This restaurant impresses me and it will impress you also with the wonderful food offerings as well as the extensive wine list. The service is always spot on and eating here will be most enjoyable for you.
Table was not ready when we arrived for reservation. Once finally seated our service was very slow. I think our server had 10+ tables. Tenderloin was cooked well but the flavor was just ok. Dessert was excellent. Overall not worth the cost considering the other great Louisville options
After having a not-so-pleasant experience the last time we ate here (which was 2+ years ago), we were pleasantly pleased with this visit. The only reason I gave the service a 3-star was our poor server had a LOT of tables, which made getting everything a bit of a wait. However, the food was incredible! My husband got the pork chop and loved it and I got the coq au vin which was amazing (my husband said he knows what he's ordering the next time we return - my dish!). This time I was able to taste the French onion soup and it did not disappoint (minus the shovel (read: spoon) they give you to eat it with). So glad we gave this little gem another try! Will definitely be back :-)
As always, we had a lovely evening and ordered our favorites, mussels as an appetizer and trout as the main course, a divine white bean soup and frisee salad with poached egg. Yum. You can go dressed up or down and enjoy a relaxing, comfortable evening sans excessive noise and excellent ambiance.
We took several business associates with us to dine after a long business meeting. We had a wonderful meal and a notable bottle of French wine. All of our courses were spot on and we all enjoyed this dining experience so much that I have made reservation to take some friends there this upcoming weekend. Guy and his crew definitely know how to do it right.
This was my first dining experience at your restaurant and everyone in our party was extremely pleased with their meal and with the level of service. Our waitress was very outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable, answered our questions about the menu choices and efficient and professional.
I had dinner with my fife and we were little bit disappointed:
Out appetizers, snails and foie gras are both had almost no salt.
The sea bass was little bit better.
For dessert pistachio gelato was not available.
Honestly our visit last year was more enjoyable.
After being seated quickly we waited nearly 20 minutes for our waiter. Our table ordered two steaks. Both medium rare. One steak came out so charred I couldn't taste the meat. The other steak was cooked medium well. Both steaks were cool, one to the point the butter couldn't melt on it. The staff was pleasant and we received complimentary dessert for our wait. This was my second visit and hand a much better experience the first time.
