I met up with some friends from out of town for brunch and was seated as soon as I arrived. Our server, Justin, was extremely attentive from the moment we were given water. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we were having the best experience. He checked on us several times and made sure we were happy with our food. The food was delicious and I had more than enough to share with others. Despite being out in the cold for hours (ugh COVID), it was one of the best brunch experiences that I’ve had. Thanks Justin and the whole team at Brasserie! 5 Stars and big tips!!
What a fabulous bistro. Due to COVID we were limited to outdoor dining but frankly I wouldn’t have it any other way. They have a great puppy friendly patio w plenty of heat lamps. We had the most delicious brunch. Everything was a notch above what we expected. The service was extraordinary as well. The interior space and bar area looks very cool. Will definitely be adding to the regular rotation of Georgetown restaurants.
Delicious food and wonderful service! Doing a great job with Covid protocols and winterizing their outside seating.
Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcomed. Lovely patio seating
The drinks here are SO good. We came mid-January and even then the heat lamps, and sunlight made it a very warm, inviting place to spend a couple hours and have a few drinks. The service is always excellent, and there's no rush to finish eating.
The shrimp au gratin was to die for.
Great food and service!
Exceptional outdoor service. Each table had their own heater. Amazing food! Cannot wait to go back.
Great service and food! The server gave great recommendations and made the dinner more enjoyable.
Love the outdoor dining! The mussels were amazing and the French onion soup also.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Was a lot of fun
Great service and drinks were amazing. Perfect outdoor dining for now!
Thought it was raining and we were outdoors, the food was hot, the service was great. With the DC order "only outside dining" during this time, the staff provided heaters and kept us warm. We are grateful and will return.
Tried this place for husband's birthday dinner. Service was amazing and food was really good. I had trout, green beans and ordered side of smashed potatoes. I could've done without the potatoes. They were meh! But the trout, green beans and mule cocktail were amazing. Also had shrimp dip which was yummy. We had to sit outside due to covid restrictions and it was cold...BUT there were 2 heat lamps near our table which made it tolerable. Waiter/Hostess was excellent with advising us on meals to try, etc.
Great location for a birthday celebration
Everything was amazing! From the decor, ambiance, food and the service! We traveled from Virginia Beach just to visit. We were completely satisfied. Thank you!
Pleased to finally have the opportunity to dine at Brasserie Liberte. Nicely appointed dining area with comfortable ambience. Pleasant servers but they are no French and do not speak French. Food was good but somewhat shy of fantastic (but this is a brasserie, not a world class michelin star holder). The check was very reasonable and I look forward to my next visit.
Great service and food as always. Love their brunch
Great brunch menu and wonderful service. Liked that we could be away from others at the high top tables.
love the atmosphere and would try outdoor seats next time
I called the day before Dec 5th to make reservations and I emailed the restaurant. I informed the restaurant it was going to be my boyfriend's birthday (Both via email and phone) and I was promised a surprise candle with the dessert I ordered to surprise my bf for his bday. They brought the dessert but no candle!!!!! I was extremely disappointed. Especially I saw other tables where the waiters brought candles for the people for their birthday. I requested that ahead of time and both via the phone and email but they ruined the surprise!!! Very disappointed!!
New favorite brunch place. Can't wait to try the dinner menu. Also very pleased with the value of the brunch. Not drinkers so can't evaluate that aspect of brunch.
The location is nice, as it's tucked away on a side street in Georgetown. The ambience was very nice, had a bit of a romantic feel which was very nice for going on a birthday dinner with my girlfriend. Hard to really comment on service these days due to COVID and all the protocols, but from what I can tell they were following these protocols and doing the best they could to make us feel comfortable. The food was very flavorful, definitely not the healthiest of options but definitely delicious. The French Onion Soup was fantastic and I would definitely be getting this again. Overall I'd definitely come back and eat here again, it was a very pleasant experience.
The food was great! The host was nice! The drinks were great! They gave us the table we wanted so everything was perfect! Thanks again!
The staff is very friendly. I went there for my Father’s birthday and from the moment we entered until we left, our every need was attended to. The food was a very good reminder of France mixed with America.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at brasserie liberty. There were four of us. My husband and myself, and my two sons. Everything was unbelievable and wonderful until a rat ran straight at us and below our table and across the entire outdoor portion of the restaurant.
Great Service from the time we walked in until the moment we left, I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday He ordered the Duck and I had the Beef Bourguignon it was Very Good.
Amazing food and service! I loved the eggs Benedict
We sat outside and our waiter, Dmitri, was excellent. He took very good care of us, understood what our small group needed, kept everything paced very well, and was both friendly and courteous. Our brunch meals were both attractively presented and delicious. We will happily continue to support this restaurant.
They found my cigars!
Dmitri was awesome; I appreciate his attentiveness and service! My friend and I had a leisurely time catching up, while seated in the "Faberge Egg." (I have been wanting to be seated here, so MERCI!) My trout almandine was good (could use more almonds), and I enjoyed my late-night affogato. I'm sure I'll be back!
Superb on every level!!! Can't wait to visit again.
Brasserie Liberte is a great spot for small celebrations, a date night, and if you'd like to nonchalantly impress guests. The restaurant inside is trendy, but not stuffy and has great lighting (important). The food was great - the french toast is amazing for brunch and I highly recommend the Beef Bourguinon for dinner. If you're familiar with DC, this place reminds be a bit of Le Diplomate - great atmosphere, refined dining and very attentive staff.
An amazing experience at Liberté- as usual. Lovely staff and setting- the food was fantastic. Good portion for the price and tasted outstanding. I would definitely come back; It’s my go-to restaurant in Georgetown and recommend it to everyone asking for restaurant suggestions.
Excellent service, great food and great value.
Always pleasant and worthwhile. A place of intimate grandeure with cozy food.
We have been to Brasserie 3 times since they opened. The first time was excellent, up unfortunately each time after the food quality (flavor, balance, etc.) has gone down. Very disappointed this time in both the cassoulet and the Caesar salad. Sadly as we live in the neighborhood we won’t be back
I’ve now eaten here three times and am very sad to say that it has gone steadily downhill. We came here later on Saturday night and chose indoor dining so that we could see the game. We’ve slowly been returning to indoor dining with winter coming soon, and in the few cases we have, we’ve felt incredibly safe and supported by the staff. This could not have been farther from that feeling. There was a table of a lot of older people who were seated at two high tops that were floating around the bar area with masks for basically the entire time we were seated.
We saw the GM have a conversation with one of the men at the beginning of the meal and overheard the man making fun of and getting angry about the six feet rule being enforced. I was initially pleased about that because it felt like the staff was taking it upon themselves to have the hard conversations and enforce the rules they put in place for the good of the customers and staff. However, their roaming continued with at least 12 people from their group going wherever they wanted without masks. I kid you not, no less than 8 people from the group walked by us - within two feet of me - unmasked and on the way to the bathroom. Maybe two of them would then remember and run back, but it was in this very odd childish way that they then forgot about the next time around. Several of the men would come to the bar to pay their bill or order another round, but would come all the way down to the other side of the bar and get within three feet of us without a mask. Sometimes, they’d even stand for a few minutes waiting.
One of the women (who never remembered her mask) also touched the waiters arm (very drunkenly) for at least 30 seconds. However, the older women were all complimenting the bartender/server profusely, and it was near the time where they were paying the bill, and I got the sense that this was more of a tip-motivated situation.
Also, very stale bread on the tartare and had to request bread for the table.
Grabbed a late bite and cocktails with another couple. Sat just outside the bar on their indoor/outdoor patio area. Server was attentive, bartender was on, and the kitchen put out great tasting plates. It was my first time visiting but I will certainly be back.
Loved everything. my only critique would be the fries they were way too over cooked it was like chewing on something too crispy but other than that everything was delicious especially the shrimp au gratin
