Salon Privé, the private dining room in Brasserie JO, is an elegant choice for your next social gathering or business dinner. Appointed in the same rich cherry wood and marble as the main dining room, the walls are decorated with vintage French posters, giving it an unusually exuberant air without the stuffiness of an ordinary banquet space.

The place is beautiful and the food is excellent, but the service is very very slow. So if you are hungry or tired, find someplace else.

Wonderful restaurant, scrumptious food, great menu, had coffee and after dinner drink at the bar after brunch. A must before or after Boston Symphony Hall, a couple blocks away.
Only disappointment was an inattentive waiter - wasn’t present, didn’t know the menu, forgot to bring a drink order.
Regardless, will go back.

I always love dining at Brasserie Jo. The cuisine is exquisitely French and the martinis are filled to the brim. Dessert is a must...profiteroles, crème brûlée. I come here to be reminded of my time in France all those years ago.

Three people had a pleasant but low-key birthday dinner at Brasserie Jo. We were seated on time and enjoyed the food and the service. One feature of dining at Brasserie Jo is the convenient valet parking. Not only is it an amenity, but less costly than leaving the car in commercial garage nearby, such as the Pru.

We have been here quite a few times over a number of years and we are always happy with service and food...and again, they did not disappoint us. It really is hard for a restaurant to be consistent but Brasserie Jo has managed to do that! All 4 of us that dined were very happy with what was ordered -- both appetizers and entrees. And oh that bread that is served....heaven! Although they usually do provide excellent service, our waiter this time was particularly good. Merci!

My wife and I went for a Sunday brunch the weekend before Valentine's Day. The weather was cold and rainy, but the dining experience more than made up for it. A very relaxed and pleasant time; casually elegant, quiet, and unhurried.
So enjoyable that the two of us agreed to make this a regular event.

Quite authentically French, with good preparation, reasonable portions. Makes me want to go back to France, but this place is more convenient ! We'll be back!

Meh. The service was sub par, and the food was less than expected from a French restaurant. I wouldn't return if it was BOGO

A good place for a special pre symphony dinner with our granddaughter. She is a new student at Northeastern and we wanted to take her to a non student venue. Our meals were very good, but we really did not have time to enjoy the very large dessert and get to the concert at a leisurely pace. Perhaps the waiter could have suggested that.

Very good food, attentive and pleasant staff, noise level fine (I could easily hear my wife despite my less than perfect hearing), comfortable surroundings, close to Boston Symphony where we went after dinner. Only complaint is that the profiteroles that we ordered, though delicious, were far too big (I would estimate that they were enough for 4 people; my wife and I shared it and only managed to put a dent in it, so to speak).

Always a pleasure to dine at Brasserie Jo ... can’t get enough of the carrots offered up with the baguette!
We look forward to another wonderful dining experience in the near future!

The menu emphasizes "French Ham Crepe Gratin." Well it was not so impressive. However, other dishes, escargots and calf liver, were good. Little overpriced due to the location.

We had a mixed experience this time. The food was well prepared but the vegetable crepe was not as described. Although large and well made, it contained about 90% zucchini and summer squash, with a few pieces of asparagus and peppers thrown in for color. It would have been more accurate to describe it as a zucchini crepe, which I would not have ordered. Desserts as always are huge and delicious. Fabulous baguette. Excellent service.

The restaurant has consistently good Bistro food. Occasionally it is excellent. The skate fits that description. It is never less than very good.

Brasserie Jo is consistently good for traditional French dishes in a white tablecloth setting. Located close to Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall, they are used to meeting diners' time schedules for concerts.

We met friends here before symphony. They had never been before, and were very impressed. They enjoyed their entrees and were MOST impressed when we introduced them to the Chocolate Mousse!

A consistently solid dining experience - great service and food!

This was my second time at Brasserie Jo for brunch before attending a play at the Huntington Theater. The menu is typical for a weekend brunch, but the food is well-prepared and presented. Eggs for the Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and came with a side of country potatoes. My friend had the quiche du jour which she said was excellent and came with a side salad. We decided to have dessert and ordered the profiteroles. Beware! These are for sharing only-- two huge pastry puffs filled with a mound of ice cream that the waiter then poured hot chocolate sauce over. Absolutely delicious and decadent and even sharing this dessert, we could not finish our portions. For $10, this was a perfect end to complete the meal. Both times, the service was impeccable--waiters were available without being intrusive.

My wife and I came here for a special occasion, to celebrate a milestone birthday. We were thrilled with the food. The French Onion Soup was perfect, and the Steak Frites terrific. The dessert stole the show for us. The Chocolate Mousse was prepared at our table, with our waiter scooping three beautiful ovals of mousse onto a plate, then dousing it with creme anglaise and shaved white and milk chocolate. This was a very hearty dessert and a great amount for the price. The Lemon Tart was also spectacular. This is a great restaurant for a special occasion!
