While the food was pretty good the hostess service was exceptionally poor. There were 3 people in our party arriving in 2 separate groups and ended up being seated in different areas of the restaurant even though we had reservations knowing we are 3 people. So each table ended up waiting for other to arrive, wasting about 20 mins with calls and texts...then rushing to eat dinner so we could head to the Symphony Hostess apologized but nothing else was extended. Also, wine glasses were topped off too early so that we paid for a second glass that was not a full glass. This should never be the case anyway since that is a no-no to mix different bottles of wine in same glass.
The place is beautiful and the food is excellent, but the service is very very slow. So if you are hungry or tired, find someplace else.
Wonderful restaurant, scrumptious food, great menu, had coffee and after dinner drink at the bar after brunch. A must before or after Boston Symphony Hall, a couple blocks away.
Only disappointment was an inattentive waiter - wasn’t present, didn’t know the menu, forgot to bring a drink order.
Regardless, will go back.
I love their eggs benedict; highly recommended. always go here for brunch before a matinee.
I always love dining at Brasserie Jo. The cuisine is exquisitely French and the martinis are filled to the brim. Dessert is a must...profiteroles, crème brûlée. I come here to be reminded of my time in France all those years ago.
We love BJ. We go often. It is convenient to Symphony, Jordan Hall & Huntington Theatre.
Three people had a pleasant but low-key birthday dinner at Brasserie Jo. We were seated on time and enjoyed the food and the service. One feature of dining at Brasserie Jo is the convenient valet parking. Not only is it an amenity, but less costly than leaving the car in commercial garage nearby, such as the Pru.
Excellent brunch. Chocolate french toast amazing as is the made to order omlette and great tarte flambee!
We have been here quite a few times over a number of years and we are always happy with service and food...and again, they did not disappoint us. It really is hard for a restaurant to be consistent but Brasserie Jo has managed to do that! All 4 of us that dined were very happy with what was ordered -- both appetizers and entrees. And oh that bread that is served....heaven! Although they usually do provide excellent service, our waiter this time was particularly good. Merci!
I have been to Brasserie Jo many times and it never fails to deliver. The food is top notch and the servers are knowledgeable and very pleasant.
Great French Bistro food, really enjoyed it. I had steak frits and my wife had lamb shanks, both excellent
Food tasted so bad... waitress was very rude, never again
Wonderful pre- or post-symphony dining option. Fantastic service. Lovely, classic French dining. Will definitely go again!
My wife and I went for a Sunday brunch the weekend before Valentine's Day. The weather was cold and rainy, but the dining experience more than made up for it. A very relaxed and pleasant time; casually elegant, quiet, and unhurried.
So enjoyable that the two of us agreed to make this a regular event.
Quite authentically French, with good preparation, reasonable portions. Makes me want to go back to France, but this place is more convenient ! We'll be back!
