Place was hopping when we went before a concert. Took a little long to get service started but then it was just fine. Food was excellent as always. Ambiance is lovely. Absolutely would go back.
Great French food. Staff was awesome. Very enjoyable meal before seeing Sir Elton.
We love the food and location of Brasserie du Parc! The service can be a little iffy, but is tolerable. The food, and the price you pay for it, is definitely worth it. Perfect for an elegant dinner before a show at Toyota Center!
We loved eating here before our concert at the Toyota Center, It was a short 5 minute to the concert from this restaurant. The food and wine were delicious!
Highly recommend this hidden gem in downtown!! Great ambiance, food, service and drink menu. Very central location!! Thank you!!
Excellent highly recommend
A very pleasant first experience. The dishes were very well executed. The menu is a typical French brasserie fair and is appetizing. We went on a quiet night and I suspect the lunch crowd is way more busy. Service was on point. Our server Wallace (spl?) was top notch. We would visit again.
Food was fresh and delicious. Service was good, but a little slow, probably because they were busier than usual. Prices are reasonable for a French-inspired cuisine in Downtown Houston. I loved the foie gras and the French onion soup was also very tasty. We had the special, which was a very fresh and delicate red snapper. We will be returning to this restaurant.
Came here for my birthday and the service was absolutely great. The food was flavorful and I got a complimentary birthday crepe. I don’t think they do this for everyone so I felt very special.
The restaurant was closed. We drove downtown paid to park walked to the restaurant and it was closed. Open Table or Brasserie du Parc fell flat on their face and wasted our time and money.
We made a reservation, which was then confirmed by Open Table. Upon arriving at the restaurant we found it closed with the door locked. Other patrons were waiting outside with similar experiences. No one answered the phone. No notice was posted about the closure. I presume they're still in business, but we left very disappointed and inconvenience. The Open Table reservation was not cancelled or altered. I can't help but think that they're lack of attention to reservations upon a closure reflects on the quality of their service.
Made my reservation for Christmas Eve. Confirmed it TWICE. Arrived and they were closed. Patrons are expected to cancel and/or provide notice if we will be late or can't make it. Why does the restaurant not need to provide the same courtesy. Many restaurants close for the holidays, so it put us in a bind. Fortunately, found a close by alternative, but was super disappointed with the lack of communication.
Very disappointed. My family made a reservation to enjoy Christmas eve at this place and when we arrived the restaurant was closed due to a water issue. They did not call or notify us in advance of the closure so our Christmas eve was ruined.
It was closed. We didn’t eat there
The hostess was terrible. The “manager” or guy walking around in a suit was terrible. The waiter was good considering he said they were understaffed. If it wasn’t for the food being very good, I’m not sure why anyone should go back. It took about 8 mins of being seated to even be given water. The whole time, the guy in the suit stood right next to the table without acknowledging our presence and never did at any other point of the night. The hostess insisted, with an attitude and no prompt from us, to seat us immediately though we were 15 mins early. We would have waited if it didn’t mean being stuck in the back of the restaurant in what seemed like afterthought seating. I just wonder if being understaffed would prompt the hostess or suit guy to at least offer water or comment on low wait staff. I’d go back to see if those aspects improved but the food is what I would mostly consider going back for. So many shortcomings for such good food. Oh, and the special occasion we were there for that was specified on the reservation, was NEVER acknowledged.
Started with Kir Royale that was nearly room temperature. An OK start but not great. Followed by seared foie gras that was cold in the middle. Sent it back and the reheated the same piece and returned it to me. Their mistake an I get a 'partial' serving of expensive foie gras? The first bite was cold and disgusting and they didn't replace it with a 'new' corrected plate or at least adjust the bill for the smaller edible portion?
Coq au Vin was exceptional as a clear contrast, as was the shrimp/risotto dish. Service was very good. And wine list was reasonably priced.
Eat here again? Yes, but there is plenty of room for improvement.
Cesar salad was very average, bread delicious, service excellent, but I was expecting more based on their pictures.
The crepes and the pistachio panna cotta are amazing! If you love mushrooms, get the mushroom truffle risotto. Short ribs were also delectable.
Our server was great. Thank you Edmin for a nice experience.
This is a super cute spot tucked away near Discovery Green. The food and service were both really good. My only complaint is the French Onion soup was wayyy to salty. The flavor was excellent though!!
We celebrated a birthday with early dinner at Brasserie du Parc. Service and food were excellent. We were well cared for, with prompt drink refills and timely food delivery. It was a nice evening.
Service was very slow. French onion soup very good, sole menu-ire was soggy, no valet parking, ambiance was pleasant.
Food was excellent and the service was superb - very attentive, accommodating, yet not intrusive. The Foie Gras de Canard Poele was a revelation, and the escargots wonderful as always.
The food was good. I don’t recommend the mussels they are bland. My sons steak came out blue rare instead of medium rare. The other food items were tasty. They seem to be running out of bread and the drinks from the bar became slower the busier it got. Ambiance was nice.
My wife and I went here for a night out on the town and this place did not disappoint. Everything from the food choices, wine selection, the ambiance, and especially the service was outstanding! We ordered 3 small plates, the braised short ribs as the main course and we even had dessert!! We’ll definitely be back to Brassiere Du Parc soon!
The reason for visiting this restaurant was to have brunch. I made reservations based on their brunch reviews, just be informed after reviewing their menu they have not served brunch in 2yrs. It would have been nice to know that information from Open Table. The Breakfast options were limited. We were disappointed we no longer had the choice to go elsewhere based on our plans for the day, and thus we decided to stay. The waiting/serving staff however, were excellent. They worked with my dietary requirements of which I had the crepe (which I appreciate)and my had their sandwich. But to drive all the way to downtown for this option I could have gone to Le Madeline.
The ambience is quite lovely in reviewing their lunch menu it looks quite appetizing and we would have considered a revisit until...
What we found rather interesting we saw the manager greet the other 4 tables of guests who had a much lighter melatonin than mine. I would hope it was an oversight but I don't feel it was. But it is Texas nothing is surprising anymore.
Our first time here and we can't wait to come back. Brian was phenomenal and had great suggestions. We tried the short rib, soup of the day and catch of the day and all were fantastic! We ended with the pistachio Panna cotta which was perfect!
It was cold in the restuarant. The music was too loud. Also my beef was just warm.not hot which I thought wasnt ok. Didnt send it back because we had an game to head to. The server was great he was nice refilled my drink before hand suggested a good meal. The other people that worked there were loud at time which didn't help the environment feel better.
Not enough servers. The wait for food was over an hour. Staff not friendly.
This was the second time we have been there. Everything we have had has been excellent. The front room (to the left of hostess stand) was very cold both times. If you like "meat locker cold" ask to be seated there. Luckily we were in a different section the second time. Fans were blowing a bit strong at first, but then they turned them down without our asking. The chairs are not the most comfortable for me, but that's a personal preference. Next time I will ask to sit in a booth in the bar though the view of the park (across the street) is a reason to sit in one of the front rooms. Definitely going back. Will pick a non-weekend night when there is no event. Parking was expensive because we could not find street parking.
Great food and wine at a good price. Nice atmosphere and good service. Would absolutely return.
Great food, great service, great wine! Will be back!
Very good location , food and service always exceptional .
The food sounded good on paper but was salty and over cooked. Overall it was mediocre, but the drinks and the atmosphere make it good.
Food was excellent. Staff was attentive and helpful.
excellent foods in a nice atmosphere and attentive service . Hard to ask for more ...
The risottos were incredible ans the wine selection was top notch! Cheese plate and escargot were perfect to share for the table.
The ambiance was nice — my steak frites were very fatty and cooked in some oil I didn’t really like the taste of. The fries were fine. I would suggest something else on the menu though!
We had a pre-theatre meal here. The place was quiet and romantic—but it was me and my mother, so that was kind of funny! We had shrimp and risotto and flat iron steak with frites. Both cooked and seasoned perfectly! The service is somewhat European so don’t expect any hovering—which we hate.
Great value. Maybe best in Houston. Good food. Top notch
