Got the impression is a sports bar dressed up as "fancy french" dining.
An absolutely wonderful way to start eating inside restaurants again. We were looking for an elegant evening with good food, service and quiet enough to hear each other. Brasserie du Parc fulfilled all these desires!!
Our medium steak was cold and purple on the inside. They offered to re-cook the steak but you know the rule, never send your food back. They didn't charge for the steak and comped a crepe to make up for it.
Wonderful Mother’s Day Brunch with my mom
Love the place, but we were there over 2 hours total. The food took a long time and the waiter seemed to have forgotten our table.
The food was nice, just would have rathered been able to order from their full/main menu not just a prefixed menu.
This was an unfortunate dining experience from start to finish, which was especially disappointing given that we were celebrating a special occasion and it was our first inside dining experience in over a year.
The manager seemed harried and going in too many directions. It took a bit of time to be able to order, and when we did we waited about 30 minutes before my husband inquired about our drinks. The waitresses reply was that the bar was very busy. When our drinks did come, the bartender informed my husband that they did not have the beer he ordered, and then recommended a beer that was not anything like the one he’d wanted. So the order was late, we were not checked in with by the staff, and then the order went unfulfilled.
The food was not awful, but certainly sub-par. I ordered the catch of the day instead of the risotto, on the advice of the waitress, and it was fairly flavorless and without any crispness to the skin- just wet skin on fairly bland snapper. The panna cotta dessert however was lovely.
Another note about service: A waiter delivering our dishes was clearly confused as to whether the food belonged to our table (while wearing his mask solidly underneath his nose). He and the manager ended up standing next to our table having a discussion about where the food was maybe supposed to go. The manager’s comment to us about this was “He’s new.”
I never do restaurant reviews, but this place just disappointed on so many levels that I thought I’d put in my experience. And given that this establishment has the same owner as Etoile, you’d think they’d understand what it means to meet a higher standard than they did. Hugely disappointing.
Delicious meal, cocktails and wine too...great for a date night.
Not only was the food great, but we also had a very good knowledgeable Waiter and he was excellent in all respects. The open air table gave a view of the park across the street, and watching children playing without masks, being kids and having fun was the best entertainment we could have had. My wife and I always ask the same questions whenever we go to a new restaurant, Would you eat your dish again and Would you dine there again? The answer to both questions is an absolutely Yes We Would.
Great ambiance, excellent food and service. An oasis amongst the busy area of discovery green. Definitely recommend for date nights and special occasions..
French menu with amazing soup, fish and beef! Definitely try a salad!! Vegetables are tender and flavorful! Crispy fries!!
Casual atmosphere, outstanding food and drinks, service was a bit unattentive.
The braised short rib is amazing!
Another great meal at Brassiere. We love coming here because service is friendly and the food is great. I am picky eater and they always accommodate my unique requests. Plus their Filet with au poive is excellent.
Finally, Tony the GM always stops by the table to say hello and ensure we are taken care of, and of course all the other tables!
Thank you Tony and the team! See y’all soon.
An excellent restaurant. Soup and fish just a little over salted. Crab cake and crepes outstanding.
This was awful! Had reservations. But they were clearly overwhelmed for Easter Sunday. After 20 min in the bar area they were trying to figure out where to seat us. Ended up seating us, but still no service for 20 min until we told the manager that we had not been seen. Service was HORRIBLE (not even sure if that adequately describes it). The manager, about half way through our meal, was dumping glasses of departing customers' remaining water into the plants outside) and was taking smoke breaks on the side of the outside seating area. Completely unacceptable. Food was mediocre at best. Drink vs food delivery was completely out of sync. Received food but had to glasses for a holiday brunch for nearly 20 min. Received the bill for $300 and was not quite sure how to handle it. Tipped the waiter for his efforts ($50) although for the restaurant itself I should have followed my late father's methods of leaving a half of a dollar bill behind. Post pandemic recovery we would expect greater attentiveness. We should have left rather than subjecting ourselves to this punishment.
Beautiful outdoor dining area and lovely brunch menu. Big portions and yummy desserts. Punchbowl drink was fun
The service was good in spite of it being a busy Easter Day. My only service issue was that the soup was not delivered with a soup spoon, so I went ahead and at the soup with a teaspoon. I regret not asking for a soup spoon, but was trying to be nice since they were so very busy. When my son's steak was delivered without a steak knife, he had to ask for one, since the knife at the table wasn't sharp enough to cut the steak. I had the lemon sole, potatoes, cauliflower, snow peas with caper brown butter dish as my entrée and it was delicious but very heavily over salted. I had my son check it and he found it excessively salty, as well. I was able to eat it, and it was delicious, but would've enjoyed it more with about half the salt. My son was very happy with his Caesar salad and Steak a Cheval. My dessert of pistachio panne cotta was sublime, perhaps the finest restaurant dessert I've ever had! We will give it another try at some point when it's not a holiday to see how it is.
This restaurant is a perfect setting for a day, family gathering or anyone out of town visiting Houston. The waiters are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great food all around
The location is awesome. If you can sit on the open air side it's a great way to spend the evening people watching and enjoying dinner. The service was very slow in the beginning and I was a little worried. The manager seemed to take over and then it was all fine. The food was really very good and we enjoyed the evening.
A very comprehensive French brasserie menu that never fails to satisfy and surprise. And the service is excellent.
We really enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Brasserie du Parc. We had a great secluded table and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We just wish they would have had Steak Diane as an option as we have enjoyed that in many French restaurants. The food and the service were awesome. Great downtown dinner spot.
Great neighborhood gem. Reasonable pricing and good portion and tasty food. Also great ambiance.
We appreciated the space between tables and the mask requirements.
Incredibly great food, beautifully presented. Great service
One meal was really good the other was kinda bad. They were unexpectedly busy so they were short staffed and it was a bit slow. I will go back hopefully at a time when the service is a little better.
We visited Brasserie du Parc on the day before Valentine’s Day. My wife and I both ordered the French Onion Soup and I ordered the fish of the day, the Chilean Sea Bass. I felt that the French Onion Soup tasted like it was old and just thawed out. The fish of the day was fishy smelling on presentation which made me think that it wasn’t so fresh. Overall, it made me think that the restaurant should not have their full menu if they were focusing on Valentine’s Day pre-fixe. Additionally, champagne cocktail had to be sent back because champagne was flat and had to ask for napkins when we sat down. Generally think that the food and service was mediocre on this day. Maybe the quality is better when they don’t need to focus on the Valentine’s Day rush.
Great ambiance and food. Loved the staff! A must try out if you are @ Houston
Fabulous good and service. Truly exceptional.
Amazing food. A true gem.
Lovely staff and deliciously prepared cuisine. Sommelier was helpful and the service was timely.
The atmosphere and ambience was perfect for a Roman birthday dinner! All of our food was delicious, the short ribs were cooked perfectly! The waitstaff was very attentive but also gave us time to ourselves!
Sat at the bar. Food was good. Steak was a little over cooked for being medium.
Excellent as always. Went Friday January 15 at 6:30. Place was pretty much empty. Tried the escargot! Wow, simply the best although you may have to ask for more bread for dipping. Also had Risotto Shrimp dish. Again, made to excellence. A little disappointed with one request. Asked waiter if we could personally thank chef and chef declined. This has never happened to me at a restaurant. It was a very slow night so thought he would come out. I saw as the waiter asked, and also saw the chef decline. Only downer in a great night.
Very nice service, and food was excellent. Very pretty restaurant, and fun to see the bustle of the city through the big windows!
Brassier Du Parc is a wonderful restaurant. The food is excellent, service is outstanding and the atmosphere is quiet/romantic. Great view looking onto Discovery Green Park.
All food except the steaks too chewy and rough. The drinks could be better. Otherwidse great food
