We had never been to this place before, but will certainly make a point of coming back. Wonderful staff, great food and wine, and really good prices.
Good food, good wine list but the restaurant lacked something in the design that didn’t create the ambience of a Brasserie
They evidently overbooked for their space on this special holiday, and seated us in a small windowless, nondescript room upstairs with a TV on, broadcasting some show that must have been about some person really sick in a hospital room, based on the visuals we were treated to during the start to our visit.
We went Sunday for Easter Brunch and we won't go back.
My wine glass had water stains all over, a long thick crack and the rim was full with lipstick. We told the waitress and she grabbed it without apologizing.
All silverware on our table had extreme water stains. Plus my soup spoon had a thick left over from a previous guest. We also told the waitress and she took the spoon mumbling something (assume it was something like "sorry").
We ordered the lobster soup and it came right away (way too fast). I didn't get a new spoon, so we had to tell the waitress again. She brought one over and also this one had a big dirty spot on it like the one before, so we had to asked for a clean one again. The soup was lukewarm and didn't taste like lobster but rather pumpkin.
My eggs benedict were medioca. I could eat only one of the two as the second one was so runny, even the egg white was running over the plate.
The breakfast potatoes were swimming in oil.
The desserts were good, but we weren't even offered coffee and we were never asked if we liked the meals.
We were totally disappointed from the amateur-like service and medioca food and expected a bit more from this "authentic" French restaurant.
It's just not worth it.
Great Easter brunch.
We loved this restaurant. We went because of the wonderful reviews and were not disappointed. We shared the escargot and mussels. I had the lamb and my husband had one of the steaks. for dessert we shared the chocolate galette cake. The waiter was charming, attentive and provided great service. the food was delicious. we love the atmosphere and the view of discovery green. The restaurant truly had an other worldly charme. we felt like we were in a cafe in Europe.
Was good. French food not exactly my forte, but it was good.
Great place! We enjoyed our food and the service was excellent.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
I loved this place. Amazing food, Tony was fantastic at taking care of us, great ambiance and definitely has made it to my favorite list.
The waitstaff was incredible. The food, impeccable. The ambiance was perfect for a date night!
surprised the duck confit was not on the menu as indicated on the website. Would love to see some tables outside on the patio in particular when the weather is nice. Otherwise food is delicious and service very good.
Steak frites came out and steak was cold and fries were super hot and fresh. They fixed the steak, but it wasn’t as flavorful as we’d hoped. Everything else we had was amazing. It’s a great place to dine before seeing a show at The Hobby or Toyota Center.
Tasteful French cuisine served in a low key environment. Wait staff is eager to explain the menu and the kitchen accommodates special requests. Parking is a problem so I recommend using the valet service.
Love the setting. Great service. Food quite good and excellent prices. Good selection.
Wonderful meal and kindness to an elderly friend. Special thanks to Tiago.
Just got back from France and this restaurant was BETTER than any of the 5 or 6 we ate at there. Great food, great service, friendly staff from curb to exiting the restaurant. I’m 6’10” and had plenty of room. *Found out chef is 1 of only 3 Master French Chefs in HOUSTON. Will be back!!!
Service was excellent. The lobster bisque, kale salad, seafood crepes and apple strudel were delicious and well-presented.
My husband’s steak was over cooked and had to be returned but the staff was very apologetic about it.
We will definitely eat here again.
Like being in Paris with Texas sized portions. Very nice wine list, and very authentic cuisine. The steak tartare appetizer was great, and prepared the proper French way. They have a 3 course Pre-Fixe that is wonderful.... As, I said, like being in France.
Service was not good/ a few minutes after we sat the waiter asked us if we would like cocktails. We asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. He didn’t come back for at least 20 minutes. We eventually had to flag down the bread person so find our waiter for the drink order. Wine came pretty quickly after we ordered but cocktails were slow. Then when we ordered our food they came by to give us each a piece of bread, before I could even finish one piece of bread, the food all came out. The food was so quick I can’t believe it was made to order. Food was decent tasting. Wouldn’t go back.
Good food, great atmosphere and service. The three adults had the braised short ribs, lamb shank and duck confit. All were excellent. The wine recommendation was great too, a very good bordeaux. We had an eighteen month old with us who was very active (and messy) and the staff were great and welcoming with him also. He loved the food, especially the lamb!
Tasty food, relaxed and pleasant
Reasonable prices and good service
they get it
Service was spotty, the space was warm and the food was better than mediocre.
Food was great (ordered short ribs), service attentive without being overbearing (sat at the bar), prices reasonable. Would definitely return.
We were almost scammed by the waiter. We were a group of seven. He brought the bill individually. We started paying including tips (I included 20 percent of my total). One member of the group thought that the bill was too high; we asked for the detail and then realized that we were charged more than 60 percent in tip. We would have paid in al 80 percent more in tip. The bill was later straighten up. The best resolution should have been an apology and not charge to the customers (other places would do this). This was an unfortunate incident, the ambiance and menu were superb. It is a shame that this practice took place and I hope that management takes the appropriate actions. Unfortunately, aah this time, I cannot recommend this place.
The location is excellent and the staff was attentive although a little sales-y. We enjoy French food and all the French options Houston offers. My wife's tartare was the best she's had and her mussels were top notch. My duck, which Brasserie du Parc is famous for, was good but didn't blow my mind. Cocktails were excellent.
Their food is extremely flavorful. We sat in the bar. The bartenders were very nice.
Food was outstanding. Short ribs were so tender and flavorful! Was by myself for a conference. The staff was attentive and made me feel comfortable. Sent me with a refill of my hibiscus soda to go. Lovely!
Beautiful restaurant, very attentive personnel. Risotto was excellent.
This is an excellent Houston Downtown Restaurant with very reasonable prices and an Excellent wine list. There are some real bargain Bordeaux wines on the wine list. The food is Great and so is the service. A very casual place for a nice dinner.
Always excellent food, good service; little miscommunication at the end but everything solved
Excellent food and service. Had the fixed menu for Valentine’s Day and all the food was incredible
Food and service was excellent. Bottle of wine was reasonable and not overpriced. Did not have desert but ordered extra starters. which were all great, especially the mushroom/truffle ravioli
What a phenomenal experience! The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to this restaurant next time I visit Houston.
had not been here before - no waiting with our reservation
nice lunch selections
friendly and efficient staff
nice view of Discovery Green
what's not to like?
Went for a friend's birthday. We had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed the meal and ambiance. However, even after telling our waiter it was our anniversary, he spent at least 25 minutes hanging out at our table and talking to us (mostly my husband). The restaurant wasn’t busy, but I wasn’t paying to have dinner with him. Will probably go back for lunch or HH.
The location is lovely - just across from Discovery Green. The food was excellent and the service was attentive without being bothersome.
Deserts did not taste like French.
