Brasserie Central Ratings and Reviews
The kitchen at Brasserie Central is open to the restaurant; both to a dining counter and to tables. Despite this fact, the Chef thought it appropriate to conduct a very loud and lively meeting with his kitchen staff. He barked, bellowed and admonished his staff for over twenty minutes. What makes this supposed professional think that the patrons of an expensive restaurant are interested in hearing his egomaniacal histrionics? This is unacceptable; especially at a restaurant with such a high price point. This so-called professional requires additional training.
Pleasant but distracted service; even after clear instructions at beginning of service, waiter did not follow instructions on check presentation. Braised lamb shank was tough and cold - not sure that waiter conveyed comment to chef, as neither chef nor manager one came to the table. Indoor dining area was about 2/3 full, so no excuse due to business volume. Doubtful we’ll return.
I would recommend to all. No what you would expect from a restaurant in a mall setting. Went for dinner with friends and the food and service were excellent. Our waitress, Lilly, was very knowledgeable with the menu and wine list. Her recommendations didn't disappoint. The bread with a fresh roasted garlic and butter was amazing. The escargots were done to perfection along with the mushroom soup. We all had different main courses and all delicious as well. We finished the meal with a bread pudding and espresso. Wonderful experience and highly recommend. Definitely a regular on my list of restaurants!
Food was ok , a little over price. We had Salmon with vegetables ( ratatouille ) . a simple meal that can be found anywhere in miami . The Salmon was cooked to perfection, which is very important to me but the veggies not impressed at all . Complete disaster if you are looking to try a nice ratatouille side. It was pure zucchini and red pepper not impressed at all. Everything else was ok.
Brasserie Central's food is excellent. The French onion soup was amazing. I ordered the salmon from the kid's menu (with spinach and mashed potatoes) and my 4-year-old ate the entire meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was equally fantastic. If you are shopping in Merrick Park, this place is a gem!
Wanting burgers and a film decided on Village of Merrick Park. This restaurant was perfection! GREAT burgers, the best. Complimented with a decent house red wine and we were in heaven. Way too hot to sit outside and inside is crazy loud yet you roll with it all for living in Miami. No need for SoBe, just a day at VOMP provides all you need. Love this restaurant, great staff and service from Paula. Note: BC accepts OT gift certificates for your OT points, huge plus. This restaurant is in my top 5, Enjoy!
We have dined here before yet today was the BEST!
Isadora their Hostess went over and above by securing and changing our reservations as their system was down. She followed up, secured our table preference and changed the reservation so we could dine earlier and make a movie.
Food was cooked to perfection, drinks a bit weak yet once I mentioned to our server Jaime he made certain my second was on point.
Bibb Salad with Chicken was great as was the Ribeye my friend enjoyed.

I made a reservation for 8 more than two weeks before Mother's Day. It was confirmed several times by OpenTable. We showed up to be told by hostess that they only had us down for 5. When we complained and showed her our reservation she said they would try and accommodate us but it would be difficult to to accommodate such a large party on Mothers Day. What?!? Why on earth would you accept a reservation for 8 then give me grief for showing up with the exact number of people we made a reservation for. I am almost certain they gave our table to another large party who showed up without a reservation. Worst part is she tried to blame it on us. We ended up being crammed into a smaller table right next to the kitchen that should've been for no more than 6. My back was no more than 2-4 feet away from the server station. We had no option because it was Mother's Day and finding a new restaurant would've been impossible. Other than that the food was very good and our server was great.
Really disappointed with the hostess and how our reservation was handled. I would think again before booking a large party there on a busy holiday.
My wife an I ate here after a concert, around 10:15. The outside seating facing MERRICK PLACE is beautiful, in front of the dancing fountain. Our server was attentive and prompt. The pate was fantastic, the steak was done as requested and the sauce was very tasty.
We would go back!!
Food "ok". Service completely inadequate, uncoordinated and inconsistent.
Had to beg for napkin and silverware, incinerated entree, though requested "rare", bus staff stood 3 feet away while dishes piled up, waiter, while nice guy, seemed to get "lost" all during dinner.
All the "food ok, but service bad" reviews are very valid unfortunately.
This place could be great if management could get their act together.
