Brasserie by Niche Ratings and Reviews
after several visits now I think that I should try something besides the garlic-rosemary roasted chicken though not sure yet why I would change. Beyond excellent every time now. The french fries always delight, and the deserts are wonderful. Matinee at the Fox and dinner at Brasserie by Niche... best combination I could think of.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Waitress forgot to replace my fries with brussels sprouts but immediately acknowledged the error and had the brussels sprouts out before I could lift my fork for my steak! Waitress was super friendly and attentive. Waters were always full. Happy hour wine option was delicious. Food was perfect. Will definitely go again.
Came early for our 6:00 reservation as we had a 7:30 theatre reservation. We should have told them (our bad). Our waiter Jordan was very attentive and got our wine and appetizers out promptly. The problem was the 30 minute wait for the main course. Once we brought the wait to their attention our entrees arrived, but we were rushed eating to make our schedule. The food was tasty and interesting and they comped the wine along with sending us out with my wife's birthday desert to make up for the delay. Nice touch! We will return to give it another chance.
Brasserie is always good. This was a birthday celebration and our waitress was absolutely exceptional. She brought us champagne to begin. And everyone loved their food. The noise level was a bit high but the restaurant was absolutely full.....which is always good. We had a great evening.
The overall experience was very good as usual. The soups (french onion and pumpkin) were both outstanding. Unfortunately the hanger steak ordered by two of the three in our group was rather tough and chewy, so that was disappointing. We will still return to Brasserie as this is the first time everything wasn't up to par.
The restaurant is romantic and cute, also very spacious. We brought our 10 mo old baby along and everyone was accommodating with our stroller, which was very much appreciated. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. The food though, was not impressive. The cheese puffs were just okay, the chicken liver pate was sour, Mac and cheese was extremely salty, the green beans were bland (although that might have been a good thing to balance out the Mac n cheese...and the rest of the food), the fries were very salty, the bearnaise sauce was not outstanding and was oddly thick and congealed. However, my hangar steak was cooked perfectly! Overall, I was underwhelmed and oversalted.
From the GM, Jennifer, to our server, another Jennifer, they were so enthusiastic, informative, and made our evening so enjoyable on what seemed to us a very busy evening. Not to mention our food was superb, as one would assume it would be from one of STL's top chefs. We are "hooked" and will be back with many "foodie" friends. Can't wait!
Very disappointing lunch - my other 2 guests were served and I was waiting and waiting for my lunch - 3 different people kept saying - oh it is coming
The pumpkin soup was tasteless and VERY disappointing
Server tried to take one of my guests plate as I was still eating
We love this place for dinner but too many good places for lunch to come
My guest was from LA and we celebrating her new commercials / she was NOT impressed
We returned using a gift card that we were given for our birthdays, and Brasserie did not disappoint. Great soups, bread/butter, and entrees were amazing! Even though we were full, we had to have the apple tart, and it was delicious as always! Service was a bit off this visit (figured new?) and louder than we remembered, but still a great evening out!
Food was excellent as usual. We had Trout, Sea Scollops and onion soup, butternut squash soup and a green salad. Cory our server was helpful with the wine choices and other details and prompt with our check (which is always appreciated). Great place to eat before Symphony.
We had dinner before a theater show. It was fantastic - the server made sure to get our expectations for timing so that we set the pace. Scallops were to die for and the fries are addictive. I will honestly return to try the hamburger and fries I kept seeing delivered t other tables.
We had a gift certificate and decided my husband's birthday was a special occasion to use it. We were able to sit outside and had a lovely dinner with great beer, food and ambiance. I had the pumpkin soup and my husband had a great burger. They brought my husband their very delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. A very memorable night.
