Brasserie by Niche Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful experience at Brasserie by Niche. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff were very attentive. Our food took a little longer than expected to come out, and before we'd even noticed, the manager was at our table to keep us informed and offer wine and dessert to make up for the wait. We really appreciated how on-top-of-it everyone was.
I've dined here several times, and I love this restaurant. I decided to return for NYE 2017. The restaurant was beautifully decorated inside, and we were seated immediately with our reservation. We started with the cauliflower and French onion soups, both of which were warm and delicious. We continued with the braised beef entrée, perfectly tender and very yummy. We also ordered the beef tartare, the one dish I was a bit disappointed with this evening. I realize this is a fairly raw dish to order, but the presentation is usually such that makes it look very appetizing. This evening, it was brought to me as a big, round scoop of raw meat on a plate with crostini around it. Quite unappealing. It did taste good, but the overall appearance did not facilitate my appetite. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish it for this reason.
We continued with the Floating Island dessert, and it was delicious as I remembered, with the light meringue and the rich, custard-like sauce.
Our service was great, very friendly, and the food came out in a very timely manner, even with the full restaurant. I look forward to returning in the future.
We were in town for 6 nights with a really hectic schedule so we only had time to have one dinner that we weren’t in a time crunch. We’re so happy we chose Brassiere. The food ambience and service was second to none. It will for sure be our go to in St. Louis!
My first visit to Brasserie was exactly what I hoped for! Creative and classic French cuisine with many great choices making it tough to decide. We enjoyed steak tartar, cassoulet, beet salad, and onion soup along with a sugar cookie creme brulee. I look forward to returning, and I also appreciate that valet parking is offered.
The food was pretty good, but the service was underwhelming. We had a reservation for 8:30 PM and they didn’t seat us until after 9. It seemed like people who arrived after us were seated before us. I’m not sure if they were late for their reservation or what, but it was still pretty off putting. Once we finally were seated, there was no apology for the delay, etc. Our server was not particularly friendly. And she overcharged us. When I realized the mistake, again there was no apology made just, “ok, I’ll fix it.” The food was ok but I would never come back because of the service. Too expensive to be treated poorly.
It’s no secret there’s a high level of expectation for Brassiere by Niche being associated with its much venerated forerunner. Perhaps the most amazing bit is that it absolutely lives up to those expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest that I t’s among the best restaurants in the Midwest. A menu I’d describe as French comfort food, impeccable service, reasonable prices. It’s just that good.
after several visits now I think that I should try something besides the garlic-rosemary roasted chicken though not sure yet why I would change. Beyond excellent every time now. The french fries always delight, and the deserts are wonderful. Matinee at the Fox and dinner at Brasserie by Niche... best combination I could think of.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Waitress forgot to replace my fries with brussels sprouts but immediately acknowledged the error and had the brussels sprouts out before I could lift my fork for my steak! Waitress was super friendly and attentive. Waters were always full. Happy hour wine option was delicious. Food was perfect. Will definitely go again.
Came early for our 6:00 reservation as we had a 7:30 theatre reservation. We should have told them (our bad). Our waiter Jordan was very attentive and got our wine and appetizers out promptly. The problem was the 30 minute wait for the main course. Once we brought the wait to their attention our entrees arrived, but we were rushed eating to make our schedule. The food was tasty and interesting and they comped the wine along with sending us out with my wife's birthday desert to make up for the delay. Nice touch! We will return to give it another chance.
