Superior food and ambiance, enhanced by live music wafting in from establishment across the street
I always enjoy the food, drinks and service. Our favorite brunch. At the most recent visit Tracey was our server. She was attentive and it’s all in the little things. Refilling drinks, adding silverware, being a pro. Thanks to all the hard workers there kitchen and front.
Would have enjoyed hearing the music, but there is no shade for outside seating. Would welcome the opportunity to sit outside next time - maybe look into some shade??
We always enjoy a great brunch in a friendly place that brings back memories of dining in France. Decor is groovy and the staff are well-trained and very nice.
1. Did not honor reservation. We arrived at 6:25 for a 6:30 reservation. Still no table at 7:00. Finally gave in and it on a table outside.
2. It took 3 hours for dining. Slow, slow service.
3. Several times they tried to serve our first course over. The staff was confused.
4. Food is consistently good. I try to rationalize if dealing with slow service is worth waiting for the good food. They
Probably could make more money from drinks, but jo I BFF e noticed our glasses were empty.
It was our first time at Brasserie by Niche, but definitely not our last. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was excellent.
It was great to see the Central West End busy and full of energy.
Service was attentive, food was over salted.
I was disappointed they don’t prepare some of their food onsite and therefor it suffers that freshness. Also, the escargot was heavily herbed and tasted of spinach rather than luscious garlic butter.
We always feel like we are in France when at Brasserie, which is a good thing. Great ambiance, delicious and authentic (modern) French cuisine, casual atmosphere, excellent service. And one thing is better than in France - the prices are lower!
Food is always high quality and delicious here. Excellent service too. We visit St.Louis monthly for medical reasons, but always include Brassiere in our plans.
We sat outside on a beautiful early June evening. The food was delicious! I had a salad, mussels, with a side of pommes frites. My friend had the same salad, the trout amandine, and shared my pommes frites. Everything was great. I asked for a recommendation for wine and they actually recommended the least expensive bottle of wine in that category - I was totally surprised. Usually restaurants try to upsell you. And, then at the end of teh meal, our server brought each of us a complimentary glass of port.
My only concern was that our server left for the evening without telling us. She had left the check and then never returned. Finally, another server took the check for us and, when asked, told us that, yes, our server had left for the night. I thought that was a little strange.
I would definitely go back to The Brasserie. It was a great evening!
The menu remains bistro style, and the quality of preparation has continued high over many years. There is reasonable variety, and the wine list is good, with acceptable pricing. The service is very good, without being fussy. We have returned many times and will continue to do so.
Delicious food, as always, and impeccable service. The wine is also always good. Trout amandine was memorably good. Our bread last night was not the freshest, though they did say that if we waited we would get bread fresh form the oven.
The mussels were perfect! Service was great! Busker across the street played a decent cello!
My family often meets for the Sunday brunch and sometimes birthdays and other occasions.
Always a delight.
French bistro atmosphere and menu to match.
A real St. Louis gem!
Great food!!! Friendly server!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Food was amazing, service was excellent and atmosphere was calming and relaxed! Can’t wait to go back and try dinner!
We went to brunch at Brasserie for the first time, and it was excellent. The food and drinks (especially the marteau) all hit the spot.
So many friends recommended Brasserie and they were not wrong! The eggs benedict, quiche and coffee certainly had me feeling like I was Europe - not St. Louis.
Mum and I went there for brunch and it was delicious. We had the Eggs Benedict and low key inhaled it because it was so yummy. Our waiter, Vinny, was so helpful and attentive, it made the meal feel like more of an experience.
The food was great! Each dish was perfect, but the selection was limited. If they had more options I would’ve given it a 5 star. Also when we first arrived at 9pm it was noisy. The noise died down by 10pm. The ambience was otherwise great. Loved the lighting and decor. The server came by often to check up on us.
We sat outside on a near-perfect evening and enjoyed one of the very best al fresco dining experiences in St. Louis. The drinks and food were excellent. Our server, Gina, took outstanding care of our group. I highly recommend Brasserie by Niche for authentic and casual French cuisine.
Started with fries and drinks. Both then had mussels, one with a cauliflower side, the other Brussels sprouts. Wine for both was Sauvignon blanc. All very nice.
Very good authentic french food. The French onion soup was amazing.
Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience and for making the birthday celebration so special! It was a perfect evening.
Our server, Chris, was amazing. He made our fourth anniversary a memorable and special moment. We will definitely be coming back and will make sure to ask for him again.
Always a great destination for casual dinner with friends. The French-influenced items are excellent, but don’t discount the cocktails and burgers.
Excellent food, good value, attentive and very personable waitstaff.
Went here for a dinner celebration because we loved their brunch. It's a cute place with good service. The food this time was very, very salty though. This was disappointing for a place known for getting the food right above all else. At the prices, I don't think over-salting is an acceptable boo-boo. We are unlikely to return.
True French inspiration and menu!
Love the ambience.
Delicious French bistro food and very nice and helpful waitstaff. We had a wonderful evening!
Perfect for a date with your significant other! Service was great as well.
The food, the service, the ambiance....all outstanding!!! Truly one of the best meals I’ve had from start to finish in a VERY long time!
Fantastic food and prompt, attentive service will bring us back when we travel to St. Louis. The restaurant is very loud due to echo from hard surfaces, even with the extra pandemic distancing -- and therefore smaller number of diners in the room. It was a nice mix of couples, families, and groups for an early weeknight supper, and some were brave enough to eat on the outdoor patio despite the cool temperatures. The pate was smooth and luscious, the braised beef was deeply flavored though rather fatty, and the coq au vin was a large serving of four drumsticks. Even the coffee was good, which surprised me since restaurant coffee is usually bland -- it is Kaldi's.
Great food and cocktails, attentive service, and an ambiance reminiscent of the French countryside.
Everything was great. Thanks again
While we had ask to be seated outside in the tent, the gal said they had a group scheduled in that open table. When we left the table we wanted to sit at, as well as the two tables next to it had not been used. Causes one to wonder????
My wife and I went to Brasserie for her birthday. It was an exceptional experience; the food was quite good, and the wine two. If I had a criticism, it’s that the escargots had too much spice, and not enough butter & garlic—they’re a bit on the grassy side.
