Brasserie by Niche
This is one my favorite St Louis restaurants. The cheese puff appetizers are fabulous.
Entrees were delicious
Desserts were not so good, dry and not what we expected
7:30 reservations and did not get seated until 8:15.
Service was poor. Waiter took forever to bring 1st course and worse for main course. Then trying to pay was terrible
It took more than half an hour after our scheduled reservation time for us to be seated.
My favorite restaurant....always wonderful food with a great atmosphere!
We went to Brasserie for a milestone birthday. The place was packed and loud. The kind of loud where it's hard to hear the person sitting across from you. But if you can live with that, the food is fabulous. We enjoyed the gougeres. My daughter and I both had a burger - delicious - one of the best in town. My wife had the veggie tart, which was baked in a phyllo crust. She loved it. My daughter's friend had the steak and said it was great. We also had several desserts. The chocolate mousse had a strong chocolate flavor. The 'floating island' is a meringue dessert that sits in a caramel/vanilla sauce. You MUST order this treat at least once. It is light and delicious. Highly recommended.
The food was exceptional. We found the ambiance a little loud and crowded.
I ordered the vegetarian tart. When it arrived and they smelled the fragrance of the sage and the vegetables together I was extremely excited. However, after two bites I realized it was so salty I could not eat it and had to send it back. The waiter was extremely understanding and replaced it with Trout. That route was flavorless. The brussels sprouts dominated the plate, and I was hoping for something that had a more compatible flavor to go with the trout.
I have been coming to brasserie Since they opened, and, it is the first time I can say I’ve been really disappointed.
I really feel as if the menu needs some creativity.
Had a wonderful dinner here after an afternoon symphony concert. The entire party thoroughly enjoyed themselves; the food was wonderful, the service was wonderful, and we can't wait to back!!
As always, this place brings me back to my European roots, with outstanding service an pallet delicious dishes.
Meal was very good. Cafe Provencal is just a little better
Great place for any special occasion, the food is great and so is the service. My only complaint is that this place is loud. The tables are squeezed closely together and my girlfriend and I could easily hear the conversation going on at the table next to us.
Dinner was excellent. We were on a tight schedule and the servers were very respectful of our time, even giving us suggestions of cook times for select entrees. The French Onion soup is always tasty and the trout melted in my mouth. Another pleasant evening at a St. Louis classic restaurant.
Our server (Alexa?) was wonderful. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She made us comfortable, offered suggestions and even had the kitchen prepare meals to share. The food was outstanding; made from the freshest ingredients. I will definitely return.
Service was awesome ... and Sarah at the front is an absolute professional ... Her and our server made our experience outstanding
Very good overall. It was a Sunday evening so quieter than normal. The quality of food and service was very good. Overall would recommend.
It was like being in France. Love the wine selection.
The overall experience was underwhelming after seeing so many positive reviews. Arrived at the restaurant before the 815p reservation, but wasn't seated until 840. Our server was attentive and listed the specials and even suggested her top3 favs, which we chose two. The meal was just ok, nothing mind blowing. I had the steak and frites- cooked to temp, but the bearnaise was a little stiff. My wife had what she called a fancy pot roast( braised beef, bacon lardons, potato puree and glazed carrots) that was certainly not worth the hefty $. If I return I will probably try the roasted chicken.
The chicken is fabulous! Everything was excellent!
The occasion was the fourth of five dinners with friends as part of a celebration of my wife's birthday. (We're eating at each of Gerard Craft's five St. Louis restaurants.) The food was excellent (as we have come to expect from his venues). The service was good but slow. Our server was excellent.
The restaurant was full and (as is standard practice these days) largely devoid of sound-damping materials, so it was really noisy. Our table was in the middle of the room and conversation was difficult. But even so, the meal was excellent, we really enjoyed ourselves, and would be happy to return.
We were totally new in town and a friend told us about this place. It really was worth it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We went early so it wasn't too loud so we have only compliments
Excellent food and wine selection in a very comfortable and casual setting. The service was top notch without being overboard or too formal. We celebrated my father's 78th birthday and were provided not just one, but two desserts on the house. It was a lovely evening. I would highly recommend Brasserie by Niche and can't wait to go back again!
Birthday celebration-great service and food was as good as ever!
My husband and I were excited to try Brasserie and were not disappointed. The service was excellent, and food frivolous. The French onion soup is so amazing, that stands out to me as the hit of the night. I got steak frites for my entree, he got the coq au vin. Both were excellent but the steak was exceptional. My husband said it was the best steak he’s had in St. Louis. We will be back.
Probably my favorite restaurant in St. Louis. Great for all meals and an amazing place to go for a special event. They definitely know how to help recognize if you are visiting for any special occasion. All of their food will make your eyes roll into the back of your head, mine have yet to roll back, I haven't seen anything in about a week.
Had the chicken- the soaked bread in it was amazing. Husband has the braised beef - much like a pot roast. The onion soup is a definite star!!! The floating island was delicious too- a meringue with a custard. Service was impeccable. A bit noisier than I like but overall fantastic. Valets were great too! Super friendly.
The cream of garlic soup was the perfect companion to my trout and brussel sprouts.
It is ALWAYS great. My very favorite restaurant!!!!
Everything about our experience was amazing! The food was decadent, we started with the cheese puffs and the fromage! Both amazing! Everyone had a salad which was delicious and fresh. The French onion soup was mouth watering and to die for! Everyone had something different I had the steak and fries, very good My fiancé had the trout which was delicious. The waitress ended up bringing us a second plate because ours was missing bacon and we didn’t even know it so the entire table got to enjoy the trout plate. My grandfather had the muscles and said they were the best he had ever had. My grandmother had the menu du jour! We had to floating islands they were both very good. All in all everything was amazing. It was a tad bit loud, because we were trying to have a lot of conversation and catch up so it was a little difficult to hear. But everything else was amazing and we will definitely be coming back.
We had a great intimate evening. Got some good talking done. Super food as always. Jennifer and her team are such pros! Just the right balance of leaving us alone to talk and talking really good care of us.
The restaurant was nice along with the entrees but the dessert was a soupy mess.
Always the best
Really great food, wine and drinks. Excellent service too, and a casual, though still classy and elegant, atmosphere. A place to revisit time and time again, and definitely check out Taste next door for the best cocktails in town (and also excellent food - same owner/food group).
Perfect evening! Caleb and staff made our wedding anniversary very special and memorable! Thank you! What a perfect place to celebrate!
Real French food in Saint Louis...the Quenelles were good according to my husband, Coq au vin also very good, mussels, onion soup, and Croque Madame also just as good (if not better) than same menu items in France.
Noise is a bit above normal- not fully conducive to conversation but not terrible either.
Overall, a fun place with excellent bistro-type French food.
Came in for my birthday. Our server was fantastic. I really enjoyed the chocolate mousse. Thanks Brasserie for making it a special evening!!
Food and service way above average. Exceeded expectations. Looking forward to returning.
A cold misty night, but still packed by 7, the reason? Great food, great service and a Wonderful manager: Jennifer!
We go early, get the romantic table, the daily made cheese spread is terrific, the homemade vanilla bean ice cream
with the hot chocolate fudge! Fabulous.
Everyone at the Brasserie was lovely. They made me feel so at home and gave great recommendations. Will definitely be back.
I love this restaurant and would love to have one in Houston!
