The food, the atmosphere, the wine, the service...everything is beyond superb! I cannot wait to return!
Party of six, we had mussells and salmon and short rib and chicken dishes, all very delicious and service was very good. Great place to meet for talking and lingering over food--really extensive beer choices including lambec and fruit beers not always seen with such a large selection
Good service. New chef, Michelin Star chef Andrew Cleverdon from SIREN has done wonders with the menu. This established restaurant has been given a new and vastly improved lease on life.
Brasserie Beck is a favorite. Great staff, service, and a solid wine list.
We’ve never been disappointed with the food at Brasserie Beck, and this trip was no different. We wish there was a Belgian-style restaurant in NYC that matched the quality here. On this visit, we found ourselves walking around DC in the summer heat, and decided to go an hour and a half before our reservation - and just in time for happy hour. The drinks were refreshing, the bartender was fun, and we had a great evening overall.
Limited menu. Mussels the big thing and they’re good. But the fries you can get with them were surprisingly mushy for a signature dish.
Excellent loup de mer (whole fish) topped with clams and mussels was the standout
Great choices in brunch menu. We will be back for dinner.
An exceptional meal! We dined on a fairly quiet Saturday evening. Our reservation was honored, and we were seated comfortably at a cozy window table. Service was outstanding, perfectly timed, with good suggestions. The food was exquisite. My companion loved the lobster bisque, and my own raclette was out of this world. The mussels in white wine and steak frites were authentically Belgian—perfectly prepared, and very amply portioned. Did not save room for dessert, but hope to try it on return, as this will be my new go-to in DC!
Wonderful staff with an especially nice manager and knowledgeable waiter. Food delicious.
Waiter was a little too attentive to start- made us fell a little rushed
What can I say about this place?I came here not expecting anything and left amazed.
The food was spectacular, the cute little table by the window was perfect, the service was attentive but not overwhelming.
Would definitely come back!
Very good, 8 out of 10.
Hi, we are regulars for years now. This time though we had an overly Know-it-all server, never happened before, & put a damper on the evening, otherwise outstanding as usual
Service was inattentive at best. Had to go find a waiter just to pay. Took over 15 minutes to get a cocktail and the place wasn’t even busy.
Food was bland and uninspired. Ordered the trout almandine and it was salmon, not trout, no mention of the substitution. As a veteran foodie I was excited by the menu and was utterly underwhelmed.
I ve heard a lot about this place, I went in to check it out, super friendly and professional staff, attentive management team. Amazing food. Also they have very nice patio for summer time. Will come back!
Food was completely without taste.
Overall, good. The waiter was a bit too attentive/anxious. We weren't given adequate time to connect/talk before he kept returning and returning and returning. Felt a bit rushed.
First time back after a few years. Menu has been reduced and the food just is not as good as I remember. The beer was excellent as always.
Brasserie Beck is one elegant place that has been improving its service lately. It is a great place with lots of different beer options and really good food. We liked our table outside and the visits from the manager to check on our dinner. We will be coming back to one one of our old favorites.
Belgian food may be confused with French cooking for good reason. They are similar. But this wonderful restaurant offers that special extra step that makes Belgian cuisine so special. Try the "Plateau a La Marcel" to discover what I mean. We live in Boston, famous for it"s seafood, but we cannot find a comparable platter of crustaceans in Boston, or any other city I know. Bravo!
We dined outside - what a pleasant setting! Our waiter was extremely helpful, and even was accommodating about my dairy allergy. We had mussels and salad and the vegetable of the day, and all were great. Only the frites were a little disappointing. Of course it goes without saying that the draft Belgian beer was terrific.
We love Brasserie Beck....great food which is always consistent and wonderful service.
The bartenders are the absolute best, and it keeps me coming back. It doesn’t hurt that the food is great. Classic mussels? Yes. Steak frites? Yes. Steak tartare? A hundred percent yes. Great wine and beer list, too. Whether it’s to eat or have some beverages with friends, it’s a great spot.
Wow, just wow.
Impressive first visit.
Incredibly flavorful food - carrots, beets, steak frites!
Will definitely return.
Very nice and great location.
Rockfish was not good
Food is always fantastic and the beer is even better. Best place for Belgian Beer downtown.
Just the worst service. I’ve been several times here and the food
Great service, great food, great experience:)
It’s my go-to eatery when I visit DC. I’ve never had less than a terrific meal and tonight was no exception. Service is great, wine service is very good, food quality is exceptional. The mussels are huge this time of year. I had the Mussels Bolognese.
The appetizer was yummy, the bread was yummy, however what I ordered was gross. I prefer my shell fish hot not chilled. I thought I would try it. I would go back and try another dish.
Good was really good!!! I am definitely going back to try it again. Lots of people having fun around me. Food took a while to come out....not sure why. I would have liked better service for the price I paid. And there were a lot of dish runners everywhere and kept hitting my chair. Food was awesome tho!
Good beer selection. Servers seemed overwhelmed.
The food was as fantastic as always, but our service on the outdoor patio left a lot to be desired. It took at least five minutes to be acknowledged after we were seated, and we ordered a bottle of wine right away but it took another ten minutes to get our wine. We were told they didn’t have our bottle and brought another choice, and then it disappeared again for a few minutes until it returned with an ice bucket. All throughout our meal our wine was kept at a table ten feet away so we had to wait for it to be refilled. I have worked in restaurants and understand if many people arrive to dine at once, if the kitchen is, “slammed,” or if the wine we choose is out of stock. But, I expect communication which would have made our meal much better. I think we will avoid Brasserie Beck on the weekends going forward.
Amazing ambience and High quality dishes. Served , presented perfectly and Outstanding service.
I'm a long-time patron of Brasserie Beck and absolutely love their approach. The food is fantastic and the wait staff are always extremely attentive. Over my last two visits, however, I haven't been pleased with the level of customer service provided by the hostesses. They barely acknowledged my party, made no eye contact and led us wordlessly to our table. It doesn't make for a nice to start to a meal.
First time here since we recently moved from NY. Had to find a restaurant near the grand Hyatt where we were meeting relatives. Picked Brasserie Beck from the reviews and it was beyond our expectations. We all agreed the food was excellent and so was the service. Would definitely return!
Business lunch schedule on a Sunny Friday. Nothing better than Mussels and Bavik on tap. Sat outside, can be noisy from traffic, but not unbearable. Our server was prompt even though my entire foursome was not. He recommended beers for my guests and made good selections. Mussels arrived (large portion) and looked huge but they are mussels and not overly filling. Crusty bread for dunking and a great start to the weekend. recommend highly
Love this place. One of the go to date night places and they have seating outside too. Great food. An awesome wine list. And service is normally perfect.
