Service very good. Got there quite late - after opera. Last to leave, but took time to enjoy a birthday treat.
Lovely dinner with friends. Excellent service and lots of menu choices for food, beer and wine
Unfortunately the food was not up to par. When informed, management made it right.
Service was very good. Got to enjoy the nice weather and sat outside.
Good food. Decent service.
The mussels aux vin and the Belgian fries were amazing! The draft and bottled beer selection is limitless. The delicious and salty grilled Brussels sprouts had me drinking lots of suds. :)
Lack of valet was disappointing and unexpected.
Fantastic food and service. I want to go back again and again. Hannah provided a fantastic experience. I hope to have her as a server again.
Excellent food that was outside regular yet in a comfortable everyday setting. Outstanding beer menu, tasty cocktails. I had the Trout Almandine and it was excellent.
BB has a full range of Belgian beers which we love to try. The sommelier? or beer expert is extremely knowledgeable. Their menu is typical Belgian/French which is a delicious blend between French and Northern European/German and just the right amount of portions/size. The lobster bisque en croute is just fabulous with a puff pastry baked on top of the ceramic dish. The onion soup includes shallots for extra flavor. So far we've had the Poulet au Champignon, Beer Braised Short Rib, Grilled Pork Chop, and
Wiener Schnitzel and absolutely loved every one.
We went to Brasserie Beck 10 years ago and were thrilled to discover the food and overall experience was as wonderful as we remembered! The mussels and frites were as good or better as any we had in Belgium. There were also several beers that we haven’t seen on a list since we were in Europe. Love this restaurant!
Great mussels, frites and bread. Great beer and wine list as well. Go to place with solid food.
Brunch was delicious
Fabulous food. Great taste and great presentation. Definitely recommend.
Great for drinks!
The food was great. I had to ask the waiter to describe the cheese tray and charcuterie meats to my party.
Waiter was way too obsequious, and omnipresent, except when we wanted him. Endive salad was okay, could have used a bit more bleu cheese. Roast chicken was just a breast, and had some sort of odd stuffing under the skin. Way over cooked and quite dry. My companion had Wiener Schnitzel, which looked okay, but which he said was also overcooked. Crème brûlée custard was fine, but sugar on top was just melted, not caramelized. Too sweet, no bitter counterpoint to the sweet custard – which is sort of the point of crème brûlée, non? Food overall was well-conceived, but not very carefully cooked.
We had brunch here with our 3 kids. Food was delicious and great location near the Convention Center
Enjoyed our Sunday brunch experience for our daughter's birthday! Food was delicious!
If you are looking for great moules, this is a good place. We went for a typical steak frites dinner and it was a huge disappointment. The meat was tough and tasteless ... Sorry, I have to be honest. Frites were great.
Back with dtr visiting dc and still great mussels and service.
Serge was our waiter and his level of service was outstanding. We've been to this restaurant many times and the food is always fantastic. My one complaint is where we were seated. There is a primary way for the wait staff to go to the kitchen and it was right by the side of our table. The incessant traffic was quite distracting and unpleasant. During our next visit, I will be sure to not accept that seating arrangement.
Excellent mussels. Great selection for all types of eaters
Salad Nicoise was delicious and perfectly cooked....the restaurant was very crowded and the hard surfaces didnt absorb a lot of noise...
Great place, service, food!
We had the $75 Valentine's Day menu and it was worthy of a starred restaurant. Everything was exquisite and beautifully presented. We requested and got one of the quieter tables alongside the windows and it was very romantic. We could actually talk! There was one snafu with the courses being mixed up (dessert instead of main course and vice versa). On the whole, though, this restaurant and all of Chef Wiedemaier's other restaurants are extremely good, and well managed, with attention to detail and customer service.
One of my favorite places in DC - so distinct, and always so enjoyable. I was in DC for 5 days this past visit - made sure to make it to Brasserie Beck for two of those dinners!!!
Had a fabulous anniversary dinner. Service is always top notch but the muscles (and fries) are by far the star. Best muscles in DC in my opinion. I’ve never had a bad night at Beck’s. To top it off they gave us a complimentary sorbet on the house. Nothing but praises for Beck’s.
Never disappoints! Their mussels is a must have! Appetizer portion would be a great start for two people.
The wine and beer portions seemed a little chintzy for the price but they were excellent choices and went perfectly with our meal. Excellent moules and frites!
I had an important business lunch and they did an outstanding job making sure that we had everything that we needed when we needed it, in addition to the excellent food and service that is a "given" for this restaurant.
Can never go wrong with the mussels - always delicious
The food quality has fallen dramatically in the past several years. We had the two fish dishes and they were bland. The wine list, however, is wonderful.
Excellent steak & frites. Great beer selection. Generous space in dining area between tables.
My first time to have brunch at Brasserie Beck. Excellent Bloody Mary. Nice selection from their regular menu, as well as more traditional brunch items. Not very crowded, so it was easy to talk. Will definitely go back.
Brasserie Beck is always the perfect place for brunch. The food is wonderful, service is always helpful and friendly, and the ambience great for a relaxing Sunday!
Great service from Hannah!!!!
Exceptionally good brasserie fair. Our group tried the little gems salad, raclette, mussels, fresh fish, frites, Belgian waffle, and chocolate mousse tarte (all on the restaurant week menu except the frites). Excellent selection of Belgian-style beers on tape, and extensive bottle list. The wine list was very strong, but pricey. I would have appreciated a few more moderate-priced bottle selections. By the glass, though, was comparable to the on-tap beer selections. Sent a second group there the next, and their report was the same.
Went for restaurant week - outstanding value but a little disappointed in the food. Chicken was dry/ overcooked, and the braised cabbage lacked flavor. Mushrooms were overwhelming. Desserts tasted a little like something I could have purchased at a street fair. However onion soup was spectacular, service and ambiance were great, and the food was probably not as good as usual because of the restaurant week value. Will try again and order a la carte from menu. Try the onion soup!
