   We chose the Trio of Steak for Two option. As I do not drink red wine, I politely requested a glass of white instead. However, this seemed to cause some hesitation with the maître d’. He went to check if this could be accommodated and returned offering only the house white, without presenting any further options. We added a couple of tapas dishes as starters, which were served promptly and were hot in temperature. Unfortunately, when the steaks and our side of broccoli were served, the waitress failed to notice that we did not have any plates. Two small, cold plates were eventually provided. To our disappointment, the first bites of steak for both myself and my husband were cold—not lukewarm, but cold. The broccoli was similarly cold, with the only hot item being the chips. Given that we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, there was no excuse for this oversight. From past experience, we prefer not to send food back, as no one wants to risk a disgruntled chef. When the maître d' came to clear our table, we informed him of the situation. To his credit, he apologized, said he would speak with the kitchen, and offered us another glass of wine or a dessert, which we declined due to time constraints. In the end, the cost of the tapas was removed from the bill, but in hindsight, the cost of the steaks should have been deducted instead, as this situation was entirely avoidable.

   I ate at abode some years ago and I had a very satisfying experience. Unfortunately this last time was a bad experience, to not repeat at all. The choice of the menu is very low and it is lacking of typical English food. I was with some friends and this made me very unhappy.

   Cannot recommend the brassiere enough, the food was stunning we ordered 3 dishes each and we were stuffed don’t be fooled by the small plate menu you definitely will not go hungry. Our personal favourites were the shredded duck salad, the salmon tartare and the lamb dish but all were amazing. The guy that served us Anthony was attentive yet not intrusive he was polite and his customer service was exemplary. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely return again and again and again. Huge thanks to the kitchen and the chef you all surpassed our expectations.

   We had an excellent dining experience at Brasserie ABode. We shared five dishes and particularly enjoyed the Aubergine Tangine, the Chicken Cacciatora, and the Pearl Barley Ragout with mushrooms and goat curd.

   Very disappointing visit. We were the only people in the restaurant, so there was no ambience. Menu was set out as Meat, Fish, Veggie, not starters, mains etc. Nothing really appealed so we ordered fishcakes, croquettes, duck salad and sliders. Could have got the same from Iceland for a lot less. A missed opportunity for a good hotel. Won't be going back when there are so many fantastic places to eat nearby.
