Chicken Noodle Soup
The experience was really bad, since we went to the Restaurant 8 minutes later and they throw away to the Street, they forbide us to take the dinner.
They were really really really discusting
This is the second time I have submitted a review.. what happened?
We had an excellent meal considering this will probably be our last dinner in Manhattan for quite a while
Comfortable, attractive space makes a perfect setting for quiet dinner conversation over excellent French food. All classic dishes are executed very well, onion soup a standout and seafood and steak mains also very strong. Service is professional and welcoming. A great experience!
What a lovely experience for Sunday Brunch! Food selections were wonderful, desserts were bountiful! I loved how each hot station was displayed in the pot/pan that it was cooked in, this added a "homey" touch! I would definitely recommend for a great afternoon with family to reconnect and enjoy great food!
Everything was wonderful. The food was great, the service was outstanding. We went for the brunch buffet on a Sunday morning. All five stars, except they charged us for orange juice and orange juice refills IN ADDITION to the buffet price... that’s the only negative on the whole experience. Brassier 8 1/2, you can afford to give people orange juice with their brunch buffet at the prices you charge... shame. Other than that, amazing!!
This is beautiful place, tranquil with great ambience, design, service and food. We will be back
Food is fabulous. Large portions. A favorite for lunch and dinner in that neighborhood. Can actually carry on a conversation and hear each other.
For lunch chopped chicken great. Had pate and duck for dinner. Both good. Good wine selection.
Awesome place. Food and drinks were excellent
Beautiful, dramatic room. Perfect acoustics for conversation. Top not food and even better service. Artworks add to a special experience.
Overall I was disappointed this time, but I have had good meals there before, so would probably still recommend it.
We went to Brasserie 8 1/2 for Sunday brunch and were very impressed. There was an excellent and very large selection of food, very good value and service and good location close to Central Park.
What a great discovery! Had brunch there for the first time. Quality of food, service and endless choices were awesome. I liked the buffet style so you’re not limited to certain dishes. Everything we tried was so enjoyable! Would gladly go back!
Best brunch in the city. Desserts on top of breakfast and lunch choices are to die for.
It's a comfortable, civilized, lovely restaurant that somehow is under the radar. Can't figure out why. It's excellent,!
This is a beautiful place. It is spacious and comfortable. Our server, Enrique was friendly and made great recommendations. The food was excellent.
I dined solo. The server was gracious & the food delicious.
Excellent food, service!
our favorite place since it opened . wonderful for conversation with friends.
Its always great! One of our favorites! We love the food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend it.
Outstanding food service ambiance. The duck was delicious. We will be back
This was our first time to this restaurant. The service was impeccable. The choices on the menu were varied which allowed any desire or craving to be met. The food quality was at the very top of my list. If you go, get the foie gras appetizer. A must have experience with an incredible combination of flavors that made my taste buds say WOW! Also, a nice walk to Lincoln Center from there to walk off some calories before seeing a performance.
Always enjoy Brasserie 8 1/2. Spacious and quiet dining room, excellent service, and great food.
never ate there it was a wonderful experience the staff was excellent food was great
I really like that the dining room was roomy and quiet.
Wonderful as always
We had a wonderful dinner at Brasserie 8 1/2 at 9 West 57th. The food was perfect (except for too much salt in the broth) and we loved the ambiance. It has the only stained glass window designed by Leger and quite a few Matisse prints. The tables are widely spaced so we could hear each other easily. It was some of the best food we’ve had in a long time.
The wine list includes a number of half-bottles and the wine-by-the-glass are poured from what the Italians call a “quartino” — so it’s not a skimpy pour.
Also we learned that on Sunday & Monday evenings they have a two-course prix fixe menu highlighting dishes from the oldest Parisian brasseries, PLUS no corkage fees. That would be fun to do together some time! Monday through Friday they offer a $1/ oyster happy hour in the lounge and bar.
After dinner we had a chat with the manager who said that the Sunday brunch buffet offers a “groaning board” for $38 our person and $16 for endless mimosas.
Beautiful surroundings and ambiance.
Been several times to this restaurant and has always been good
Main points in this visit which were a little disappointing were slow service to order , choice of menus not available and not told initially
Food served very quickly with no break at all in between courses
our favorite place since it opened. great for dinner with friends.
Never disappointed when I go there. The selections on the buffet tables are always Amazing. So many choices.
We had a fabulous brunch to celebrate my son’s birthday.
Brasserie 8.5 offers a wonderful brunch-ing experience. The food is varied and delicious catering to various dietary needs. And the ambiance provides the perfect atmosphere for connecting with friends and family over wholesome food.
Tops in food, ambiance, service, great art, can have a conversation & if you choose a good price
This restaurant has been an icon of New York City for many many many years. The food was excellent as always as was the ambience but I felt very surprised at the service didn’t seem to be up to par specially on a special night on Valentine’s Day. All I saw was a bunch of waiters sitting at the charging desk but not looking at their tables the number one thing a waiter is supposed to do is just to always keep their mind on their tables given that special day that’s even more important for a restaurant such as this; this needs to change.
Gets better each time we go. Hidden gem around the big city.
The most romantic Valentine’s Day. Imagine being able to have a conversation, sitting in a booth, surrounded by art, with caring but not intrusive service. The food as always was was amazing, Foie gras, crab cakes, duck, lobster. Lovely wine list. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC, and I’ve lived here for more than 30 years. Kudos to the chef for handling the crowds.
You won our hearts on Valentine’s Day with a perfect meal! Ambience, service, and food was excellent. Would definitely return for another exquisite meal.
Brasserie 8 1/2 is always a great place for dinner. It is surprising that it isn’t more crowded at dinner time.
