High quality food and service., consistent, given s much better sitting vs last visit.
Waiter was rather negligent at times
Good variety of great tasting dishes! Best deal in town!
I have frequented this restaurant for many years. It is beautiful and elegant with wonderful flower arrangements, generous seating, very good service and always excellent food. I recommend it al thee time and have sent many friends.
Wonderful restaurant, with great food, and professional service.
Consistent and good service, excellent food. Always depeendable
Our family enjoys the Sunday brunch buffet. There is good variety in the tasty selections. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff friendly and efficient.
Excellent setting and well priced brunch. We really enjoy your restaurant!
Food was delicious. Service was very good.
It was very nice to have a leisurely dining experience, no rushing from staff. Excellent server, staff, ambience. Thank you.
Easter with family
Came here for Easter brunch and it was a gross mess. The buffet had food scattered all over and most of the warm food was barely warm let alone hot unless made to order by the chefs. The food was flavorful but that was about the best thing I could say. Service was slow, took a long time for coffee and mimosas, the first time and refills. Granted it was extra packed for the holiday, but I would imagine that was something they prepared for as it was extra cost and within a block from the parade, so service should have been extra on point not sloppy and slow. The crowd was a sad mix of families, with children running around and with the high ceilings acoustics were terrible, it felt like brunch at Chuck E Cheese. If it wasn't a holiday and finding another restaurant would have been possible, we would have left.
Our family of 6 enjoyed the Easter brunch, an impressive buffet. Everything was delicious and service was great.
We spent quite a lot of money on Easter brunch and don't feel I got my moneys worth this time. I had gone to this same Easter brunch around 6 years ago and it was amazing. I found the prepared options to be quite dry and overcooked this time around. Also, the ambiance was much better before with more decorations and food options at the buffet. I would choose somewhere different next time as for almost $300 for 4 people, there are much better and fresher options.
Nice interior and great service. food also was excellent.
My husband and I went for Easter brunch and were blown away by the variety of foods offered. The brunch buffet was freshly stocked and the food was great. While I don’t typically eat a lot of lamb, I had to try it after my husband’s raging review. I have to agree that it was amazing! Overall value was excellent, especially for an Easter brunch in Manhattan. Service was lacking from our individual server, but the team as a whole stepped up and made our experience memorable and very enjoyable.
Holiday brunch
Great Easter buffet. Beautiful restaurant— exceeded our expectations.
Easter Brunch was so good! Huge selection of delicious food and the unlimited Mimosas were delightful ! We will definitely go back next time we are in New York.
I had dinner on Saturday 3/31 night with my wife. Her dinner was very good however mine had a problem. She ordered the Pre Fix & I decided to order from the regular menu. MY onion soup was very good but the chicken I had was not good at all. The chicken was dry & tasteless much to my disappointment. Normally I have the duck breast but I decided to make a change last Saturday.
If that was the only time I had ever eaten at 8 1/2 I would never go back. We like the restaurant but Saturday was a real disappointment. I regret not telling the waiter or the host that night.
My check number is 209.
Pleas let me hear from you.
Thank you,
Toros Hovivian
our favorite place ever since it opened. wonderful duck and branzino.
I must admit, I have not dined at 8 1/2 in several years. Our recent visit there did not disappoint. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is quite comfortable. It will definitely be back on the rotation for a favorite lunch spot. Great food, nice wine list, terrific service, and right around the corner from Bergdorf's. What else could you ask for? If you haven't been there in a while, go back! You will love it again :)
The food was fabulous. The service terrific and attentive (without hovering).
We enjoyed this restaurant very much even though we went with no special occasion I would recommend it for something special.
The food was excellent and the pre-fixe was incredible value. I have not had Brezzine fish so smooth and delicious in a very long time. Service could not have been better and just a very enjoyable experience!
We had a very enjoyable evening at Brasserie 8 1/2. There were five of us at a round table that could have accommodated at least six maybe one or two more. Conversation was easy around the table especially for someone like me who finds that too much background noise makes it difficult to hear others--not a problem for me here. The room was open and spacious but not cold feeling-pleasant i found. ervice was generally attentive, the food was very good, the portions were generous but not so much to make it unappetizing, approachable wine list and overall reasonably priced for a good restaurant. Thank you for a nice evening.
I have been here many times for brunch and have never been disappointed. The food selection at the buffet is amazing. Can't go hungry here.
We went for Sunday brunch with family of 11. Overall experience was great as expected! Quality and selection of food was excellent! The server was non intrusive and quick to clear the tables and refilled our drinks. Very spacious and comfortable with an understated sophisticated ambiance. Noise level was low inspite of all the people around us. I’ve also been here several times before for dinner and my overall customer experience has always been consistent! Great food, service, value and ambiance!
By far the most stupendous brunch in NYC. The staff, the attention to detail, the surroundings, the food! A delectable treat.
This is a lovely civilized restaurant with excellent French bistro food. The tables are well spaced, the service is excellent, and the decor very pleasing. The prix-fixe lunch is well priced with good choices.
This restaurant is very quiet and the booths are extremely private. Excellent for a business lunch. The food is excellent - really exceeding expectations - my guests always comment that they think that the food is beautifully prepared and very, very good. The ala carte menu is not inexpensive, but they always have a $29 fixed priced lunch that is an amazing bargain. Highly recommended. The staff is quietly professional and attentive.
ALWAYS ENJOY MY BIRTHDAY DINNER AT BRASSERIE 8 ½. I COUNT ON IT EACH YEAR AND YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT!
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR...IF NOT SOONER.
Great lunch prix fixe; we love it and keep coming. Highly recommended for cuisine and service!
Professional and fabulous.
This is our second time lunching here. The service is always impeccable and the food delicious. We love the sleek design and beautiful Matisse drawings throughout. A nice place to have a drink after work as well.
The excellent food is matched only by the quality of the service. All in all...perfection!
We had Sunday Brunch & it was amazing! We will definitely go back!
A most unexpected jewel in NYC! Our brunch was spectacular. Apparently many locals are regulars...that's the best endorsement of all! Gorgeous flowers, beautiful food and most gracious staff. First rate. Cannot wait to return for lunch and dinner.
We went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet which was really nice. Loads of options to choose from and was so full when we left. Obviously its a buffet with some custom stations for crepes etc but food is hotter/fresher depending when its put out. A lot of large groups were there so not a cosy atmosphere but we had a nice booth and could talk and listen comfortably.
My friend and I highly recommend Brasserie 8 1/2! From the moment we arrived we were treated extremely well. We received a tasting of the chefs gourmet soup of the day. Our martinis were chilled perfectly. We ordered lobster bisque soup; baby green salad and monk fish wrapped in poscuitto! Every dish was perfection!
