Its always great! One of our favorites! We love the food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend it.
Outstanding food service ambiance. The duck was delicious. We will be back
This was our first time to this restaurant. The service was impeccable. The choices on the menu were varied which allowed any desire or craving to be met. The food quality was at the very top of my list. If you go, get the foie gras appetizer. A must have experience with an incredible combination of flavors that made my taste buds say WOW! Also, a nice walk to Lincoln Center from there to walk off some calories before seeing a performance.
Always enjoy Brasserie 8 1/2. Spacious and quiet dining room, excellent service, and great food.
never ate there it was a wonderful experience the staff was excellent food was great
I really like that the dining room was roomy and quiet.
Wonderful as always
We had a wonderful dinner at Brasserie 8 1/2 at 9 West 57th. The food was perfect (except for too much salt in the broth) and we loved the ambiance. It has the only stained glass window designed by Leger and quite a few Matisse prints. The tables are widely spaced so we could hear each other easily. It was some of the best food we’ve had in a long time.
The wine list includes a number of half-bottles and the wine-by-the-glass are poured from what the Italians call a “quartino” — so it’s not a skimpy pour.
Also we learned that on Sunday & Monday evenings they have a two-course prix fixe menu highlighting dishes from the oldest Parisian brasseries, PLUS no corkage fees. That would be fun to do together some time! Monday through Friday they offer a $1/ oyster happy hour in the lounge and bar.
After dinner we had a chat with the manager who said that the Sunday brunch buffet offers a “groaning board” for $38 our person and $16 for endless mimosas.
Beautiful surroundings and ambiance.
Been several times to this restaurant and has always been good
Main points in this visit which were a little disappointing were slow service to order , choice of menus not available and not told initially
Food served very quickly with no break at all in between courses
our favorite place since it opened. great for dinner with friends.
Never disappointed when I go there. The selections on the buffet tables are always Amazing. So many choices.
We had a fabulous brunch to celebrate my son’s birthday.
Brasserie 8.5 offers a wonderful brunch-ing experience. The food is varied and delicious catering to various dietary needs. And the ambiance provides the perfect atmosphere for connecting with friends and family over wholesome food.
Tops in food, ambiance, service, great art, can have a conversation & if you choose a good price
This restaurant has been an icon of New York City for many many many years. The food was excellent as always as was the ambience but I felt very surprised at the service didn’t seem to be up to par specially on a special night on Valentine’s Day. All I saw was a bunch of waiters sitting at the charging desk but not looking at their tables the number one thing a waiter is supposed to do is just to always keep their mind on their tables given that special day that’s even more important for a restaurant such as this; this needs to change.
Gets better each time we go. Hidden gem around the big city.
The most romantic Valentine’s Day. Imagine being able to have a conversation, sitting in a booth, surrounded by art, with caring but not intrusive service. The food as always was was amazing, Foie gras, crab cakes, duck, lobster. Lovely wine list. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC, and I’ve lived here for more than 30 years. Kudos to the chef for handling the crowds.
You won our hearts on Valentine’s Day with a perfect meal! Ambience, service, and food was excellent. Would definitely return for another exquisite meal.
Brasserie 8 1/2 is always a great place for dinner. It is surprising that it isn’t more crowded at dinner time.
Always excellent prix fixe lunch! Great service and exquisite food! All thumbs up!
It's a wonderful space, and the service was quite good. But I thought the food was disappointing for such a high-end restaurant.
The food is delicious and the prices fixe options were great! We really enjoy eating there even though it is a bit expensive.
Excellent service and lovely, quiet atmosphere. Very good food.
Food and service were excellent--can't ask for more!
Awesome place, very nice atmosphere and great service. The most delicious desserts out of all restaurants.
Fabulous sunday brunch buffet. Incredible variety and quantity. Quality is superb. Beautifully served. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Amazing! I had a wonderful time as Brasserie 8 1/2. The food was so delicious. The ambiance was so great, and I loved the space of the restaurant and the quietness. Overall, I had a really great time and I will definitely be back!
excellent seared dorade, duck 2-ways and baby gem lettuce salad. our favorite place since it opened. wonderful staff and service.
Food didn’t taste great
The food is delicious and presented very nicely. Cocktails in the lounge and at the table were good. They have some traditional French dishes and nice alternatives. A few of my guests had the prix fixe and enjoyed it very much.
Always enjoy going to Brasserie 8 1/2. Have been going since 2015 and I enjoy everything about this restaurant. One of my top 5 in NYC.
Great food but VERY slow service, although they were nice enough to reduce the bill!
We went during Restaurant Week and ordered from the prix fixe menu. The mushroom soup was divine as was the filet mignon and the Long Island duck breast. Loved the ambiance of the space. Wait staff very professional and attentive.
Always love it here. Great food, nice service and banquettes, attractive room with high ceilings, and very nice staff. For family dinners or special occasions, all good.
Our server Alexandra was wonderful and informative. The restaurant week menu was good, maybe more veggie choices but overall the food was delicious and perfectly presented. We asked for and received perfect drinks - Vespers. Definitely will be returning for regular menu.
Such a beautiful room! Great service and lovely food.
Food uneven. Foie gras undercooked and needed salt. Crab cake better than average but not the best. Mussels a little better than average but not special. Noise level excellent and privacy much better than most. Service quite attentive.
Pretty space, attentive service, but food is sub-par at best
I often go to the Brasserie. I take visitors and family and wether the service is at the table or at a buffet I have always been very satisfied
