Perfect ambiance, great cocktails, friendly waiters, amazing food
Lovely location and good food - very attentive staff.
Great menu to experience local cuisine
We were "Out of towners" who picked it for a SPECIAL Easter Brunch with family.....
Restaurant was nice looking...had a nice table and service was excellent.
Food was very mediocre.... in fact barely luke warm and almost cold.... terrible for eggs and roasted potatoes etc etc... Desserts were excellent...
Noise level of the MUSIC was far more indicative of a late night bar scene when everyone already had a few drinks under their belts... ....then they wouldn't notice as they would be shouting to be heard.
But the music noise volumn was totally uncivilized for an Easter brunch where you wish to talk to the people you are with..
I would not recommend this establishment for an nice Easter Brunch with family and friends and I will never go back...
It took forever to have a server come and take our order for Easter brunch
After we ordered mimosas they came with what was on the menu for everyone Banana smoothy
I ordered the chicken waffle and my friend ordered the tourtiere
I asked for my egg to be turned over easy instead of sunny side
They charged me an extra dollar for this ?
The food was very late when I asked politely about the delay the waitress while polite said there is a lot of order of the same thing ..
No kidding there were only three choices on the menu to start with ?
I paid extra for coffee for an Easter brunch , regular coffee not espresso
The pastry table looked like it came out of Costco or the sales counter at a grocery store
Brownies , minicupcakes and sliced cantaloupe and honeydew
The music was getting louder and louder live Dj for an Easter brunch
The waitress was very dekayed to come with coffee and to remove the main plates
By the way what was with the croissant and butter and dash of jam?
The waffle dish also had a dash of syrup
Very disappointing brunch and no never again
Indulgent delight - from maple syrup drenched foie gras to fresh clams in blue cheese sauce, this place is a must visit in Montreal. Check out seasonal and regionally inspired cocktails and celebrate the best of Quebecois rich comfort food. Be sure to bring a big appetite!
Beautiful interior. Great service. Delicious drinks.
Steak tartar for starter was excellent. Waiter offered fresh pepper that I accepted but he left and never returned with it. For mains, duck was under cooked and chewy. Salmon with pasta - salmon was excellent, some pasta was not cooked at all and stuck together in a bunch. You really don't expect this from this type of restaurant so it was disappointing. Manager took care of us by offering comp dessert which we declined and when we received the bill he had taken one of the main dishes off the bill. The Manager did an excellent job in handling it but honestly we just would never return or recommend because I think these are such basic cooking errors that should be detected at the pass.
Delightful evening, food nummy, and environment welcoming Appreciated the evening during our visit to beautiful Montreal.
Our waitress Jessica was fantastic. My boyfriend and I had never been there before so any questions we had she was able to answer. She was so nice and enjoyable to be around as well as extremely attentive. The food was out of this world and the view is great since it’s located right by the Notre Dame Basilica. Our drinks as well as our dessert was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Next time we are in Montreal we will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Very good dinner, nice ambiance, outstanding service. On the edge of Vieux Montreal. Reasonable prices, bistro style menu. Definitely recommend.
The food was fantastic! I had the rigatoni with truffle cream sauce and my boyfriend had the steak with fries and we were blown away! Absolutely great!
So the thing that bothered me the most was that they actually seated us in a different restaurant, but we still got the menu and food from Brasserie 701. I guess it is because the restaurant is part of the hotel, as such they consolidate seating in less popular times.
The food was good. I found the chicken in the Chicken and Waffles a tad bland, but otherwise it was good.
Overall, its a good place to go for breakfast/brunch since that is what we went for,
Our server, Jessica was very informative and accommodating. . Love the place and the vibe! Will be back.
Great little spot on the edge of Old Montreal. We were looking for French cuisine but had a vegetarian among us, and this place offered something for everyone. Outstanding sea scallops with risotto -- highly recommend. Great wine list. Atmosphere was lively yet quiet enough for conversation. Service was attentive. The desserts sounded spectacular but we were too stuffed to try any.
Comme toujours, beau service par des gens souriants. Seul petit détail, la personne que j’attendais a été dirigée à une autre table que la mienne, mais on s’est retrouvé.
Wonderful decor and friendly staff. The food was great and the dessert was superb. Would recommend the chocolate tasting for two (8.2/10). Overall would rate the restaurant and staff a 8.1/10 and the food a 7.8 overall.
Everything was excellent! The food was delicious and the service was prompt, polite, and accurate. The prices were very reasonable and we left stuffed! Will definitely be going back!
Bonne nourriture, service approximatif; ex: ne pas faire goûter un vin de 56$ avant de le servir.
Wait staff was very friendly and inviting. Food was fantastic, definitely exceeded our expectations!
We went for brunch during our Montréal girl’s weekend - beautiful spot with outstanding menu and super attentive top notch service. Excellent experience all around.
Super endroit très chic. Excellent service. Kevin était notre serveur.
I am so very happy with my experience at Brasserie 701! The bottomless mimosas bar, coupled with an incredibly attentive server, was a great way to ring in my partners 30th birthday. The portions were well sized and delicious. The cappuccino I ordered was so yummy. Sunday brunch has a live DJ so it's a vibrant, loud, and fun environment. The decor is a eye-pleasing combination of Old-Montreal meets 2018. Definitely would recommend!
Not worth the price! Food was just ok, but almost cold. I got charged 1$ to change my eggs from sunny side up to cooked! But the service was good.
Brasserie 701 was really fantastic. Took a group of 10 on a Friday evening with pretty short notice. Called and had to delay 30 minutes because our group was running late - no problem. Hostess was extremely accommodating. Waitress made excellent conversation and was very helpful. Food for 10 came out nearly simultaneously which is tough for most kitchens. For the price, with many drinks and bottles of wine, I honestly am not sure how you can do better for mid-tier dining.
Eccentric decor with incredible food service and drinks. My friends and I were in Montreal for the weekend and visited for brunch and were incredibly impressed. Although the drinks are a bit expensive they're well worth the cost . The food is the reason to come. The breakfast was rich, tasty, and a bargain for what we received. If you can , PLEASE try the bacon. It is probably the best Ive ever had. Over all a great time!
I have only been here for Brunch and it was good this time around but it was missing something - We went last year Jan 2017 and it was much better - it seems they cut some corners - the bartender on Saturday 2/17 was great, very friendly and informative even though he was busy he didn't miss a beat ! We will go back .
Went for brunch with my boyfriend. We ordered la Table D’Hote. For started they only had one option of a smoothie. It was full of bananas I am allergic. I asked if there was a different option and they said no. Then we ordered the maple syrup chicken and waffles. It came with sunny side-up eggs and when I asked if o could have scrambled instead, they said I had to pay extra. Food was ok. Nothing amazing and there was no maple syrup in the chicken or for the waffles. Then dessert was a super hard peanut butter cupcake, no other option either. Wasn’t good at all. Place is beautiful but attention to detail when it comes to service really needs improvement.
Please note that the boozy brunch that is advertised, does not start until 11 AM. I sat in the sister restaurant downstairs for a 10:30 reservation. Brasserie does not open until 11! Great food though!
Outstanding meal! Perfectly crafted cocktails and a perfectly cooked steak! Absolutely would go back again.
It was amazing! Plus, Gavin, the waiter was AMAZING! One of the best waiter I’ve ever had in my life. I’m going back for sure!
The decor is retro and very classy. Very well done. Good looking bar. Cosy and the atmosphere is ideal for good fun conversations. The service was excellent. No up selling and non obtrusive. The food is tasty and well cooked. The presentation is also very nice.
Absolutely loved our dinner! Food was creative and enjoyed by all. Our server Jessica was outstanding and Benoit was very approachable and friendly despite being a local celebrity from the Bachelor Canada! I have been here several times now and each time the service and food were on point and did not disappoint!
Vraiment parfait comme d'habitude !
Très bon et agréable
Delicious food in a chill and unpretentious location with excellent service. What else could you ask for?!
